Absolutely, vargavideo! Sometimes you've just got to keep it simple, the ideal dopp kit is the one that works best for you and your use case whatever that may be. Thanks for reaching out. 🙌 - Rebecca
My favorite toiletry bag is the one made by L.L.Bean! They make them in small, medium, large, and family size. I have both the small and medium. I’ve found that the small alone will easily work for a 6 day stay or longer. It has 3 outside zip compartments, one flat that I’ve been able to pack a few pads in, two side compartments with mesh and elastic holders that are perfect for small pill bottles. It has a small carrying strap on the outside. The inside has two hooks. One that connected to a part of the bag with two mesh compartments and that is detachable (attached with Velcro), in case you’d like to solely hang it up. They refer to it as a shower caddy. How cool! The other hook is to hang the entire bag up. It has a small mirror-like thing that is removable. It has a zip compartment that’s see through and water proof, that I find is perfect to put my bar of soap and soap holder in because it will hold in any water that might have gotten on either. There are a few other zip compartments inside, as well as elastic bands to hold things in place. I have been able to hold my toothbrush, toothpaste, travel size deodorant, comb, razor, and small scented bags in it. Everything has a place of its own. It’s an awesome bag and I love it!!! Their bag is both water- and abrasion-resistant. Please check it out!
I also have a personal ll bean toiletry bag, holds everything I need, including a clear liquid bag. Very good with keeping organized and everything handy
A personal thought: Even though I love compartments in my bags, for a dopp kit, it's a must that it has a big wide internal space, to put all the liquids in a ziplock bag, to avoid any problem with TSA.
Just found a 90s vintage Sea to summit dopp kit in perfect condition at a thriftstore. Its amazing to see how thoughtful they already where about the features back in the days...And I def wanna see a packing video!
I have to say I would have added the arcido washbag in this video. My favorite for travel and never have any issues with TSA. Comparable to Tom Bhin you feature but cheaper at $15. I even had liquids spill inside and it stayed inside and wiped out easy. I'm a woman who carries liquid make up bottles along with basic essentials so sometimes it gets stuffed but still looks new after using it many times since purchasing it in 2018.
Osprey all the way: super light-weight, cheap and tight-fitting. I use their padded wash bag to carry chargers, power banks, cords, smart-card reader etc (internal pockets are great for earphone jacks, memory sticks & SD-cards etc) and it has contraption straps outside to secure the items in a padded shell. And Osprey "zip wash bag" (not the roll-up) as my dopp kitt: it 'stretches' over the items, has a two-way opening for the main pocket and tons of internal organization without wasting space (unlike Peak Design wash bag, which I loved in theory but have never travelled with due to the size). I loved the organization on Bellroy bags (tech and dopp), but can't justify the extra weight after trying Osprey and Sea to Summit super light bags.
As a frequent traveler, I have it down to a science. I use Ziplog bags for any "plane" travel, I use Ziploc quart size bags. For "car" travel, I use a small dopp bag from Tripped that works well. I originally bought it as a electronics gear bag, but found it works much better as a dopp bag. Everything fits well and it fits great into my small Rimowa roller bag. Yeah, I know - for car travel, space and weight aren't really an issue, but I hate to lug a lot of stuff into a hotel - just my work backpack and my small roller bag.
Finally got to use my Aer Travel Kit this weekend and I love it. Only downside is that it doesn’t quite fit a full size bottle of shaving cream, but I love the toothbrush side pocket.
I have the bigger IKEA toiletry bag (the green one) and I really like it! It is holding up great so far. They also have a set of travel bottles with a TSA pouch that fits exactly inside their toiletry bags. I have a few so I can switch out my toiletries and the different bottle kinds and sizes. No leaks so far, but some of the small cream containers don't close well.
I purchased an AmazonBasics Dopp kit. I'm currently on holidays now and I've go enough toiletries in it for 2 adults and a toddler. Its quite bulky but does the job, pretty impressive for the price.
Thanks for sharing, Jesse! Holding the toiletries for 3 is pretty impressive, it's great to hear that this dopp kit is working well for you so far. Keep us updated. 😊🙌 - Rebecca
Ikea products are pretty good for the price I’ve been using the packing cubes ever since I saw them on the channel, and traveling with a backpack now has turned into the norm
I am a HUGE fan of the GRAVEL series. I own both versions. The smaller one is always in my backpack; includes contacts, bandaids, daily meds, hand creme, nail file, little knife/scissors, wet wipes, anti-allergy-emergency pills, adrenaline pen, ...). The larger version is awesome for longer travels. And I would never ever give those guys away. I love them. And I never had an issue with a zipper - plus, they have a lifelong (as far as I know) return policy.
Sounds like you have an awesome setup going on here, Roger. It's awesome to know that the GRAVEL series is working so well for you. Thanks for sharing your experience with us here! 😊 - Rebecca
even with ziplock bags there's some choice. I like the ones that have a bottom which makes it possible to stand them up and just fit the toiletries with less wasted space IMO. A heavy duty version is always a good upgrade and finally the zip close vs the press and zip is much easier and gives that sense of security that it's actually closed.
please do show what each person packs in their dopp kit! i’ve been trying to organize mine and i want to see what others pack so i can possibly pick up some new finds!
I travelled alot for work & take 1 bag as roll - on for the plane. I was given an amenity kit on a trip & have reused this for 20 years on short trips. I use a shaving stick for shaving creme & a high quality disposable razor + cheap deodorant sticks. I use a travel toothbrush that is like a kids & know the hotels will have toiletries. I reuse the 2 x 30ml bottles for mouth wash or pack the Listerine strips. I previous used a small zip lock bag until I received this freebie at a trade show.
@@PackHacker Yes - you summed it all "Works For Me". We all have different set ups & needs so right now this works fine. Things will change as my needs change.
i have modified the crap out of the ikea toiletry bag, including hitting it with nicwax and hitting the zippers with a lil silicone for added waterproofing, i added a pair of elastic band using eyelets to attach an umbrella on the bottom, i padded the inside and added patches on the outside. i also changes out the zipper pulls and wrapped the handle with paracord. its an edc bag now

Bihn 3D Cube FTW. Works fine if I travel with a safety (disposable) razor, tight if I pack a battery powered electric shaver. However I’m a “destination” traveler - I stay at my first and only hotel for the duration. So in the first couple of days I visit the local 7-11 to get shampoo, soap, hand lotion etc. - all the bulky stuff. 7-11 has small sizes so I don’t waste a lot. BTW, 3-1-1 are mainly useful for lost luggage and transit terminal sleepovers. Overflow stuff goesin my checked luggage. 7-11 on arrival or the bulky stuff in checked luggage , either strategy allows the 3D Cube to handle my transit essentials with few complaints.
What I found to be a good kit : Powder toothpaste , foldable toothbrush Crystal deodorant ( looking for an alternative ), 2 matador ( 1 with body/hair wash , and 1 for Merino wash ), wahl travel clipper, mini nailclipper, and metal ear cleaning tip. All in a small Ziploc

Love all the summary of the best dopp kits in the market right now. Unfortunately they usually cost quite a bit with overseas delivery to justify the purchase. Right now I'm using the Miniso Portable Tolietry Bag, that do meet my current needs at a rather affordable price. For me a hanging hook, that opens everything up for easy access is a must, and a dedicated slot for toothbrush. It would be great if you guys do another similar video for packing cubes as well.

The belroy dopp kit i think is big enough for a minimal men. Bar soap, body lotion, pomade gel, hair comb, toothbrush toothpaste, floss, face moisturizer, lip balm, emergency kit (medicine, bandaid, bandages )nail clippers
I have the Nomatic 2.0 in Large as well as the Nite Ize runoff. I use the Nomatic domestically since its the only toiletry kit that holds my Sonicare toothbrush and recharging case. Otherwise I'd have to pack that toothbrush separately in any of the other bags. If I'm traveling out of the country and want to reduce size and weight I use a foldable old fashion toothbrush and switch to the Nite Ize. As for what's inside it all remains the same, only difference is the toothbrush. Love the sonicare its just a pain to pack with the case. Tom bihn's spiff kit looks great, it's on my wishlist. The standard size is minimal, but also has a lot of organisations, a hook to attach to a towel rack, and a small mirror too.

Could you do an "INCH" bag (I'm not coming home) video? This is an essential item if you are working away from home and get caught out and have to stay the night.
My personal preference is a putting all the TSA liquids into a zip-bag, and have a simple one-pouch bag that can have all the rest of the items laid down at the bottom AND the TSA zip-bag on top of them. Minimal weight, easy to do the TSA check, and by getting the zip-bag out of the bigger bag at the hotel, I have everything easily accessible. My current bag is actually the bag of an Air France toiletry kit I got once due to a deleted flight and it works perfectly ever since, but if I had to replace it, I would again go for a similarly simple solution.
Whats the biggest one in this list? I have: Razor Razor charger 11oz Shea butter 9oz lotion Toothbrush Floss Deoderant Portable water flosser Pain killers Tweezers Small scissors Nail clippers
I had used a toiletry bag for a while, but have since switched to Ziplock Freezer bags. They tend to be a bit tougher, and have the double locks, so a bit more secure when bouncing around in a bag/suitcase.
Something to add to the Ziploc idea - bring several in different sizes. You never know when you'll need something to keep your wet stuff separate from your dry stuff. Not to mention, they take up hardly any room in your travel bag. In fact, stuff that I want to make absolutely sure stays dry (like documents, electronics, medicine, etc) gets put into a ziploc or two. Backup clothes are great to keep in ziplocs too. They're also great if you travel with small children. Larger bags can hold an entire day's outfit and you can just put the dirty clothes back into said bag in case of a... uh, blowout.
Glad to hear that the PD Tech Pouch is working well for you, Petri. It always feels good when you've got a collection of gear that works together! 😊 - Rebecca
I use Eagle Creek toiletries bag. It conforms better to limited space, while other toiletries bags are bulky, heavier, pockets, and defeat the purpose of maximizing space.
I got hang bag I also got toiletries bag with my luggage set I use. I’ve taken a Mary Kay makeup bag before. It’s got clear pouch with Velcro to store liquids
Yeah Ikea can have surprisingly good budget travel gear at times. I picked up a v lightweight but quite large foldable backpack there once. Have to be careful how I pack it cos no padding whatsoever (so have to wrap hard items in soft layers or really uncomfortable to lug on back)
I've been using my Bellroy Dopp Kit for a couple of months now. It's ok. I gets the job done for a single dude and his bathroom stuff, but it is lacking compared to other Dopp kits mentioned here.
I just use an amazon version of the Tom Bihn cube. I find I really don't need more than that for space and it fits everything even a multi-step face cleaning set and some makeup if I repackage things well.
Thanks for this video. Currently looking for a toiletry bag. I was wondering if you could a review of the Arcido wash bag. The bags featured in this video are great tho!
I've been eyeing the Aer slim pouch as a toiletry kit. These "full clamshell" dopp kits aren't great when bench space is limited and there are no options to hang close. It's gotta stand and hang!
I just want something that's easy to clean to leave the soap stick and my washcloth while I'm taking a shower and after when it's drying up. Any advice? Not super into huge dopp kits (not American, no TSA)

Not sure if my comment will be seen or not but can you guys test Ably. A clothing company that say they are great for travel because the cloth is very good. Ie.stain, smell, sweat proof.
I think the Aer Travel Kit is perfect for my backpack travel....will TSA still accept this since its not clear as far as liquids? Or do I need to put everything in a 1qt bag until i get through security? I have PreCheck and Global Entry if that makes a difference. TY :-)
Hey there! We've found that this really depends on which airport you're leaving or entering. Plus, this is completely up to the discretion of the TSA officer at the time so your mileage really can vary. We do however always recommend to be prepared so having a spare Ziploc bag with you, just in case, can come in super handy. 😊 - Rebecca
Please give us a video including your small tools you see in video. I own the nail clippers and they will cut fishing line and lose strings on clothing but would love to see more of the small packable tools and toiletries seen in the video.
Love the gear you guys show but disappointed here because I wanted to see dopp kits, NOT toiletry bags! The reason the dopp kit survived so long is because of the awesome design. I believe that's also why the name dopp kit survived. Therefore, I make the distinction between the two - while both essentially serve the same purpose if you're using the dopp kit bag for toiletries (I use them for tons of different purposes) I think the dopp kit is in a class of its own. I clicked on this video for no other reason than that I'm always looking for the perfect dopp kit bag. I appreciate your videos but if I may be honest, I really struggle with the speed of the info. Too fast and everything blends together. Tfs.

My current bag is actually the bag of an Air France toiletry kit I got once due to a deleted flight and it works perfectly ever since, but if I had to replace it, I would again go for a similarly simple solution.
Thanks for the insight, Steve! Sometimes simplicity is the best answer.

I'm really surprised you didn't mention the eagle creek wash pack-it. It's fantastic, a really good size and compartmentalised.
Whats the biggest one in this list?
I have:
Razor
Razor charger
11oz Shea butter
9oz lotion
Toothbrush
Floss
Deoderant
Portable water flosser
Pain killers
Tweezers
Small scissors
Nail clippers
I had used a toiletry bag for a while, but have since switched to Ziplock Freezer bags. They tend to be a bit tougher, and have the double locks, so a bit more secure when bouncing around in a bag/suitcase.
Thanks for sharing, Kristian!

Thank you so much for this video! I'm flying very soon so this is definitely very helpful!
Thanks for watching! 😃

Zip Lock Bag is the best option, I been using it for years :)
Finally... my Ziploc dopp kit makes the list! 😂
Cool vid guys, I’ve been using quart ziplocks till now. 1 dry stuff, 1 liquids.
Ready for that upgrade!
Love to see what is used in each pack and items. Also love to see an update to the digital nomad lists as some items are discontinued or sold out
Good suggestions! Thanks for the feedback!

Great tip, Kota! Digging how this makes you prepared for so many situations.

I have liked Peak Design tech bag so much that I would choose Peak Design bag here too.
Glad to hear that the PD Tech Pouch is working well for you, Petri. It always feels good when you've got a collection of gear that works together! 😊

Which is your favorite, Tiffany? 🧐

Love your reviews!
Thanks for the support!

Dopp kit so called for the eponymous manufacturer of toiletry bags, Charles Doppelt, in the 1920’s
Yeah Ikea can have surprisingly good budget travel gear at times. I picked up a v lightweight but quite large foldable backpack there once. Have to be careful how I pack it cos no padding whatsoever (so have to wrap hard items in soft layers or really uncomfortable to lug on back)
Ziploc bag ftw!
Saving the best option for last. I like it. No link to a bulk pack though?
Cotopaxi Nido Accessory Bag needs to be on this list.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll pass it along 😃

ooo I have that blue wallet! it's brilliant. I've carried it every day for about two years and its hasn't shown any wear at all.
Would you be able to recommend more TSA compliant clear bags? I need some inspiration haha
I have a hard time traveling with my makeup - best ways to pack brushes & how to pick the best makeup bag.
Thanks for the comment! I passes it along to our editorial staff.

I've been using my Bellroy Dopp Kit for a couple of months now. It's ok. I gets the job done for a single dude and his bathroom stuff, but it is lacking compared to other Dopp kits mentioned here.
as a person with ten steps skin care routine, where do you usually pack your facial cotton?
yeah, i have a toothbrush cap so that compartment is a lil useless.
I use the eBags toiletry bag and really like it.
Do you have a nordace sienna smart backpack? If yes, can you make a video on how to pack tor a 3 week in Europe for October?
I shave with a DE Safety razor, but carry-on travel is frustrating. I have lost a lot of razor blades that way. Had to switch to a disposable.
I just use an amazon version of the Tom Bihn cube. I find I really don't need more than that for space and it fits everything even a multi-step face cleaning set and some makeup if I repackage things well.
Love these vids!
Glad you're digging them! 😊

Is the aer travel kit water resistant? Can be in a steamy bathroom or take some splashes of water?
Thanks for this video. Currently looking for a toiletry bag. I was wondering if you could a review of the Arcido wash bag. The bags featured in this video are great tho!
Please do a review on the bellroy dopp kit plus
Toiletry video please 👐
Why wouldn’t one always pick the nite ize or Tom bihn due to airport security? Aren’t transparent bags still required for all carryons?
They look awful after a few days of putting liquids in and out of them.
I've been eyeing the Aer slim pouch as a toiletry kit. These "full clamshell" dopp kits aren't great when bench space is limited and there are no options to hang close. It's gotta stand and hang!
I like the slim kit for throwing in misc stuff in my daypack.
I have been using the Millican core and it’s pretty nice and minimal
Seems the IKEA VARLDENS bag isn't available in the US. Unfortunate as it looked to be a good starting point for a DOPP kit.
I just want something that's easy to clean to leave the soap stick and my washcloth while I'm taking a shower and after when it's drying up. Any advice? Not super into huge dopp kits (not American, no TSA)

I really love your travel videos
Can you do best travel wallet or passport wallet
😍🆒️❣

I seriously struggle to pair down my toiletries. This includes makeup. I end up with three bags sometimes 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Hi Jennifer U.! That can be a tough one to reduce. It's a marathon, not a sprint 🙂
- Austin
is it available in india?
I was sold when I heard magnetic toothbrush divider lol
😂 It’s the little things!
-Eric
Only #11 for european trips lol. You can't use any of those bags for your carry on, only zip-locks. Nice video.
Thanks for watching! 😃

From the U.K. - what’s a DOPP kit? 😳🤔
Toiletry bag
What backpack top left on display?

Missing Sea to Summit Toiletry Bag - it's great option!
Please give us a video including your small tools you see in video. I own the nail clippers and they will cut fishing line and lose strings on clothing but would love to see more of the small packable tools and toiletries seen in the video.
You could have included a Stasher bag over the ziplock.
I just put a razor and toothbrush in my clear ziplock and that’s my kit.
It would be great to see a female version of this list, since all options (except the Ziplock bag) seem quite masculine in color and functionality.
I was thinking the same thing. They also aren’t big enough for things like hair brushes, make up brushes, gel, etc
I've seen a lot of your videos and have tried to hold back but sir you look like you are related to Charlie Puth.
As a woman. Im always looking for better and smaller dopp kits.
Tfs.
Thank you for your insights! We love hearing what folks think about our videos. Thanks for watching! 😃

I prefer muji kit
Glad to hear you've found a dopp kit that works for you, J M! 🙂

Should of reviewed the Bellroy Dopp kit Plus instead

none of these bags work with a hairbrush, which is a must with long hair
Hey Aniko, we're big fans of the Tangle Teezer Compact Styler, it saves space and fits inside most dopp kits. We'll drop the link below. 😊

Any bag that isn't see-through, is a bad traveling toilet bag! The bags you are showing, is for the normal travelers! Not the minimalist.
