Doki Doki Morning was their very first song. They were really young and didn't know anything about metal music. On purpose the metal fans involved in the project like the producer didn't tell them anything about metal, just showed them some stuff and answer questions. So they could discover the metal world by themselves. Yeah, the Fox God thing is a sort of a gimmick thing. Something to tell stories with. The sign they have was actually part of the reason why they now have that. Because they were showing the girls how to do the sign of the horns metal fans use. But they thought it's like a shadow figure fox sign. So they kept it. :-)
BabyMetal just got an award from Loudwire. Most dedicated fans award. I can see how they got the award because I'm one.
⚡ 💀 💕 In this video Su's coat was borrowed from one of the Sakura Gakuin teachers.
Moa's vest was borrowed from Yui, and Yui borrowed hers from fellow student Raura.
The girls taught the skeleton dudes the dance moves themselves.
So they were not exactly starting out with piles of money thrown at the project.
⏰ This video (their first) started to blow up once it was posted online.
And even now they will still bust this song out in concert.
Another great video dude! Seems like your getting a lot of good info from the fan base, which Babymetal fans in general are just awesome. Hell Babymetal just won the award for most dedicated fan base at Loudwire.
Doki doki was their first song and everytime I see this video I'm amazed by how far they have come.
Oh hell yeah! Akatsuki is next. Another one of my top favorites. So much to love about this song. It will be a Su-metal solo song. Yui and Moa also have solo songs.
Can't wait for more!
Oh by the way, Babymetal MVs are always cool, especially Karate (AWESOME), but live footage is where they shine the most. Anything from Budokan or more recently there was the Rising Sun Rock Festival.

This video was actually made in 2010, and originally appeared on another channel called TOYSFACTORY JP... they only launched the BABYMETAL OFFICIAL UA-cam channel later. Yui and Moa are 11 here, Su is nearly 13.
The girls don't really believe in the Fox God thing being real, it's all very tongue in cheek....
also it's very useful for deflecting awkward questions in interviews: the girls just reply "Only the Fox God knows!" (OTFGK), and as a marketing tool it's really taken off big time, with Babymetal fox-related merch selling like crazy... masks, t-shirts, and more! You will be buying some soon...trust me! haha
What? They don't believe in the Fox God? Sure. Next you'll be trying to tell me that GWAR aren't really brutal extraterrestrials who crash-landed in Antarctica. O.o
this is their first song, it's one of their most pop, catchy and fun ones. keep in mind they didn't have a budget for anything, even the clothes were borrowed. the guys were not in the band yet so it was just the three of them without the kami band.
Yah, Yui (cheeks) and Moa (dimples) were always really tiny. In this video, they were 12 but still look like 8-9 yr olds. Through the years, their changing heights have been a constant source of interest and amusement for themselves and fans alike. Back then, they refused and rejected the idea that they were short and would correct people who said that they were "short and cute"! Now after years of positive thinking and hundreds of gallons of milk, Yui's a towering 5'1" and Moa a colossal 5'0"! 😊
That's 156.5cm and 154.5cm (straight from the website) for us silly metric people. :-)
