I go to the IMSA races and see this car ever year, still the best sound and look of any car. Every time it comes out of the garage is like "Ladies & Gentlemen Her Majesty "The Queen".
@jimmy jones - I too have followed it since its release. I live 30 min. from Lime Rock Park and was a bit sad last year, knowing it was the GT's last run at Lime Rock. The sadness, however, was quickly overcome by jubilation as it once again throttled the Corvette C7R by taking 1st and 3rd, with a Porsche 911 RSR in between. The Vettes never really threatened at all that day. It has a presence on the track that no other car seems to have. RIP, Ford GT!
Probably my favorite LMGT since it entered the WEC. It's also good to see an American team/car come into the sport and provide some competition to the European teams and cars. It really harks back to 60s battle between the original Ford GT and Ferrari.
"Haters gona hate"??? im sorry but look at the way this car looks, now close your eyes and listen to the sound it makes. Now say "Haters gona hate" again.
If only more engines sounded like this. I know of the Ford Fiesta R2 and Ken Block’s Hoonitruck have the the awesome sound but we need more of this sound !
It doesn't matter who wins if the cars are no longer exciting. It's like watching/playing a racing videogame with horrible graphics/sound, it ruins the experience.
Tyler Huston I totally agree, but the cars haven't been as exciting since they did away with the GT1 class in the late 90's. And it never will be as exciting unless they bring GT1 back. Sadly teams simply don't have the budget for those type of cars anymore. Just imagine the Fxx-k and the p1 gtr at le mans.
So to all the people asking about why it sounds like a dirt bike or fart can.....it's a twin trubo V6 and has an anti-lag tune to keep the turbos spooled so it's got some power coming out of the turns. Obviously it's not a V8, but trust me when I say Ford knows what they are doing moreso than we do. Hence why the GT won Le Mans 50 years after it won it the first time. Hope that explains the sound you're hearing.

The anti lag is what makes that sound. Surprised in 3 years nobody mentioned it.
Absolutely badass car. The new Ford GT is one of my favorite modern supercars. Ford really hit a home run with this one. Thanks for the video!
