@@Gmaspoiledbrat Or maybe Fremantle will teaming up with Hasbro’s own Entertainment One (eOne) to get the rights to this classic 80’s game show. I love the show, and I still have the regular board game and TV Scrabble.
@Gmaspoiledbrat or GSN could license it like they have with other Freemantle owned properties back in the day. I doubt they would tho. GSN has been more focused on creating their own content in-house. I don't even watch GSN anymore as i see it as a shell of it's former self. Buzzr is my go to.
Nickelodeon could have done this version of Scrabble or the Pyramid back in the day abd a good chance of succeeding, both had kids tournaments so no need for a pilot. Both Chuck Woolery and Dick Clark hosted them so no need for kid-friendly hosts
This was the first time I ever saw Marc Summers wearing a suit. On Double Dare, he wore a suit jacket, shirt, tie and jeans. On Couch Potatoes, he wore sweaters and (I believe) slacks.
My only gripe is that he seemed a bit loud when repeating the clue in the Sprint round. Chuck repeats it in more of a mumble. Marc was more startling, imo.
I would have loved seeing and hearing Harvey announce the game show when Marc took over as host! THAT would have been historically epic-especially for 80s kids like myself!
Daytime TV on ABC and NBC for the most part has been crap since game shows haven't been on on daytime. NBC revive Scrabble and Concentration, ABC should revive two game shows during the day use Press Your Luck and maybe Card Sharks since they are on prime time during the summer on ABC.
Charlie Tuna would said... The host of Scrabble, Chuck Woolery. And the host of Time Machine, John Davidson. Wish Time Machine should have stayed on the air.
It is. The syndie Card Sharks that Bill Rafferty hosted was just concluding, Peter Tomarken was hosting Bargain Hunters, Tom Kennedy’s penultimate regular series Wordplay was about to finish its run.
I was in the audience of a taping of Scrabble in 1984. By the show’s end, we still could not figure why this game was called Scrabble. It bore not the slightest resemblance to the legendary board game. The name was attached to it as a promotional move, no doubt.
I wonder what Chuck would have said if they had invited Pat Sajak to play , and he had to play against him?
That would have been something

It was awesome to see Marc Summers taking over as host while Chuck Woolery played as the contestant.
Marc Summers was a vastly underrated MC
He’s a hero of mine
I love how Chuck told John to guess burritos, mostly as a joke; and then later when it was Chuck’s turn, it ended up being the correct word XD
$500 well won!!!
Chuck being a contestant on his own game show! LOL.
That makes me laugh

NBC Should revive this show with Marc Summers as host, he does a great job on this show. Bring back Scrabble and Concentration
Yes he did! I think if they brought back Concentration (unlikely as it may be), he would be a perfect choice.
I would 💕 if they brought both cc and scrabble back
@@michelleking3186 About Scrabble, they did with Raven-Symone hosting and with a different format far from the classic one.

Chuck Woolerly a great host legend.
Chuck's first play... "I'll try the 'X'" [BEWWW!] *facepalms* Laugh out loud... too funny!
Marc Summers got a thumbs up.
This show needs to come back. It looked like fun.
That's up to Hasbro Studios to decide

It depends if Hasbro would allow it. It would be on Buzzr since Frementle owns Reg Grundy Productions.

Shortly after the Blockbusters revival.
It is from 1987, 12/25/87 was the last day for end of show fee plugs on NBC game shows until 1/18/93 when the 1993 Scrabble and Scattergories debuted.
