Let me give this a shot.
I’ve lived in PA for the past 15 years, I grew up here and my childhood hometown is just an hour from where I’ll be staying.
I’m moving into my college dorm in just a few days, and I really didn’t want to go because honestly I was scared, I didn’t want anything to change because I’ve never been on my own like this before.
I may be way younger (18) and still have a whole life of experiences and wisdom to learn, but I feel wholly qualified to say that change is really scary, terrifying in some ways, but fear is the real enemy.
Sometimes we’re given great opportunities that are disguised as impossible roadblocks, but one way or another, we make it out the other side.
Leaving behind what you know and have known for years sucks, but if it’s for the overall betterment of yourself or other people you care about then taking that leap is worth it, you just have to rely on what makes you happy in order to get through it.
I love your videos man, please keep making them.

I'm on my 2nd day of college, I never thought I was smart enough but I basically got a full ride and don't have to take math or English because I did dual credit.
The hardest part is not financial or the work load (yet) but staying occupied and missing my family. They're nearly 2 hours away so we can visit, but it's just far enough.

might sound cringe fuck it…but i learned this in RED DEAD 1…specifically the scene where dutch commits suicide. He says “you can’t fight change, you can’t fight gravity, you can’t fight nature” that has always stuck with me. I tried to change my parent’s view, their mannerisms, how they viewed the world. I realized it was too late for them to change and i was NEVER going to change them, it was their nature. and the change that was coming to my life, dog dying, leaving hs, battling loneliness, moving…i couldn’t not fight that either. What i CAN do is acceptance. having acceptance of the things happening around u and going forward. the nature of things in general is to change. You change, the world changes, laws change, prices of things change…etc. so if everything is always in a constant state of changing, i have learned to embrace change. think of it as a new beginning for your life. instead of dwelling on my life BECAUSE of change, i take one day at a time, make good decisions and embrace the unknown not with fear but with curiosity. at least that helped me a lot and maybe it can help you :)

I actually have a vid coming out regarding the notion of Relinquishing Control and this comment speaks a lot to what I talk about in that video. It's a really really important thing to remind yourself. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to control things that are out of your control.

I've been going through quite a bit of change here recently. One day out of nowhere I just have a huge crush on this girl. And there were butterflies. But then one day they stopped. I don't dream about her. I feel that she's the one and I've never felt so happy or so good about a girl before. My alma mater school also decided they are not hiring assistants for sports so I had to find the best school district in the area to go help out with, one that I can stay with for presumably forever. I'm not the type of dude that wants to move schools all over the place all the time. I worked for a newspaper company covering my old school and they had let me go, saying that my services as a writer and a photographer were no longer needed and they would be going in a new editorial direction. I fully believe 2024 and beyond are the times for new opportunities. I've never felt more happier in my life man. I'm a sophomore year college student and only got a few years left until I graduate. What are your thoughts on this?

    • @loadedbuggy

I will try to simplify my answer so as to not force you to read a novel...
Overall, life is like an ocean. One moment the sea may be calm and peaceful and another moment the tide is rising and a storm comes through. Navigating the ocean of life and weathering those storms are key to progress. It sounds like you have a really good head on your shoulders. Staying positive and looking forward to the new opportunities is the best possible outlook you can have right now.

I remember being boggled by the prices in a gas station when we went to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon. We're in Louisiana, so of course everything is dirt cheap compared to the rest of the country, but it's Louisiana.
It definitely sounds like a bittersweet decision, but two things can be true at once. You have an awesome life with you family and your work but it's also unsustainable in the current economic conditions. As long as both of yall agree that moving is the best decision then I have full confidence yall can make a good life there too. Wishing you the best of luck my friend. Good luck with the move! I hope everything goes great! Lately I’ve definitely been trying to embrace how things are always changing. I’ve been stewing on the Buddhist concept that there’s always something to cause discomfort and dissatisfaction, and that you just gotta push through the crap and keep your eyes on positives!
I grew up in PA and now I might be moving out depending on where my job search takes me. I honestly love this state despite how much I wanted out when I was younger. The fishing, hiking, and plant life are so lovely! I’m trying to find a job in the ecology/habitat/natural resource field and this job field is very competitive. So lots of scattershot applications and rejections. But I’m in my hometown for the meantime so catching up with friends is awesome and I’ve gotten plenty of time to work on my channel and meditate and workout so that’s pretty cool!!

I'm a firm believer that discomfort and pain is required for growth. Our bodies require discomfort when we try to strengthen them, and I believe our minds are no different.
I love your positive outlook on this. Our lives never seem to unfold the way we may have hoped they would, but if we aren't resistant to the entire process, change can certainly lead to amazing things...

Man, this sounds almost like a mirror to my life right now. We live in AZ too, the cost of everything (especially houses) are so much more expensive from where I lived in Kansas City. I just proposed to my girlfriend of 4 years and we really want to start a family and buy a house but it feels impossible here. I’ll provide the contrasting viewpoint. I live in CA and it is just as unaffordable here as I hear others say in the other states, if not worse. Even on a double income, a house is so unaffordable. Think $1M minimum and you’re having to compromise a lot on safety, location, or else you’re getting a shack! lol
On top of that the schools here are just so competitive and cut throat - I think it would be awful for kids to be raised here imo. And that’s why I want to leave CA. I apologize that this exodus causes issues for other states too, but believe me I’d entertain other options too if they existed

Sadly, you are so right on all accounts. From other comments it seems that other countries are also suffering from this massive surge of inflation however, I can only speak for my experience here in the states. Our experience is much of the same and sadly it puts many of us into penny pinching mode or in other cases like mine, flight mode. Gotta move to survive.
