  • Pre-Rinsing your car literally does nothing. Though this is the standard it really is completely useless. Pre-soaking with a solution on the other hand is very effective.

    I always pre soak my truck. As an enthusiast, it saves me time. Especially when I have to wash my wife’s suv as well.

    the problem with pre soaking is the chemical on the trim n chrome and platics. it dries it up after repeated rounds. ideally just add some apc to your foamer and use on the bottom half of v the car where most of the dirt is. the top can be foamed with ph neutral soap when you refoam . i detail 50 to 70 cars a month outdoors. using high ph soaps arent great on a regular basis. ise when only on really had paint. if the car is nice its not worth it. just use safe methods and clean mitts. save the strong stuff for wheels and engine bays they don't belong on paint unless you're deconning polishing and coating after. then go nuts why not. on protected cars only the bottom 3rd should ever see acid or alkaline products.

      This is about as safe as it gets and its the ideal way to wash a car. As for the plastics and chrome, I think you were letting it dry in the sun or used to strong a soap. But I'd rather the plastics fade and keep the paint in good condition because you can always coat the trims to make them dark again.

    I agree with the foam/rinse method. Do you think it is ok if the surface is warm?? Also, to show how clean the soap gets the surface wipe a rag across the dirtiest area on each side so the viewers can compare. Looks like you are making great progress!

    • @autodetailingpodcast
      @autodetailingpodcast  3 місяці тому +1

      I would say warm is ok - I wouldn’t do it if it was a steaming hot surface. I would wait for it to cool down

      @@autodetailingpodcast how you like it so far ? I’ve had mine for several months now I love them little foamers, just remember to unload the air out of them when you’re done it’ll bust a seam if you don’t. But other than that I’m having a great time with those. But that’s what I was saying about application method. These little guys can help out a lot.

    Maybe its just me, but holding a pressure washer nozzle 6" away from the surface should blast everything away regardless of the soap used. I want to see how easy the soap rinses, and the amount of time it took wasnt very convincing.

    I mean that's one smart way to market your product haha. Either way, I think pre-foaming is better than rinsing first, UNLESS the surface is really warm to hot then I would do a quick rinse as the time difference is negligible.

    • @kirkwilson5900

      Jimbo, ph questions. So the soap is 9...then your water is 7 ish likely...once 9ph soap is diluted, now whats the actual ph of the soapy water mix on the surface? This always peaks my interest, because i find it hard to believe the soap is alkaline enough to alter the finished liquid at all. Could you please test it with a ph meter after mixed and sprayed? Thanks! @autodetailingpodcast

      Great question. It was lab tested at 8.5-9 mixed when it hits the surface. I call it 9 because that is the most accurate for when it is actually being used. It is higher inside the bottle at full concentration but it’s not designed to be used like that. Does that make sense?
