A lot of adults are living with undiagnosed disabilities and enablers covering it up instead of implementing supports to help them function. Not all of us have life skills.
Especially in the black community because we tend to be kicked out before our time. You're 18, and it's time to go. But that doesn't mean you have the emotional wherewithal to understand what 18 really means. Then we make a bunch of hasty decisions because we had to leave hastily. It's a cycle, but if you can get somewhere and stay for a bit until you can do better, then it's possible to get on track for adult living.

When you see that you do not have enough for next month's rent and no job in sight, COMMUNICATE with the landlord. Offer to move into smaller quarters and surrender the apartment to the landlord so the landlord can rent to someone else. PUT YOUR MOST EXPENSIVE POSSESSIONS in storage ESPECIALLY the Rent to Own Possessions. YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY on those possessions when you are evicted and some eviction vulture takes those possessions for their own use.
Rent and putting a roof over your head is the first bill to pay..you can always fjnd food from family..other government agency will help you with heat and electric..nothing screams loser when you are homeless and living outdoors.

Sounds like my ex wife. The tax money went to shopping sprees while bills piled up then after she spent all the money would yell at me for not making enough to cover the bills after her spending all the money. Miraculously my money problems went away and my credit score skyrocketed once those papers were signed and she no longer had access to my bank accounts.

My granny was a supervisor at the housing authority for 25+ years and she always taught us to pay the rent first, you can always pay your utilities later. Rent and putting a roof over your head is the first bill to pay..you can always fjnd food from family..other government agency will help you with heat and electric..nothing screams loser when you are homeless and living outdoors.

Do NOT let her stay with you. She will move in, not pay any bills(will use the kids as an excuse) and her children will ruin your house. Give her some phone numbers to local shelters, she has kids so they will help her.
Sounds like my ex wife. The tax money went to shopping sprees while bills piled up then after she spent all the money would yell at me for not making enough to cover the bills after her spending all the money.

My granny was a supervisor at the housing authority for 25+ years and she always taught us to pay the rent first, you can always pay your utilities later.
