I first saw Dane at a Bass Clinic at Hale College in Perth Western Australia, alongside Marcus Miller. Their bass duel was awesome and the small crowd were shocked by his talent, especially playing with Marcus Miller, such a seasoned veteran
There were a lot of licks with some very obvious sources but the pocket was always solid. Execution was very tight. The licks could be linked together more musically imho but he chose to focus more on the groove and intersperse it with flourishes. I don't think it was a bad decision; I thought it was cool and appropriate for the feel of the song.
Thymonofathens unfortunately the other 7 billion people are watching crap like Just-in-beaver, or some OTHER cRAP. He definitely has it all and love that Pavel tone 😍😍😍
…could listen forever….. 🔥
Craziest bass solo I have heard. My hair is still feeling the pocket. Masterpiece man
3:22... SICK. So musical. Kept the groove too. Absolutely love this.
Can't add anything more to that. Superb!

Hard to argue with title of this video.
Leaves the signature riff until the very end... mic drop.
what bass guitar is this??????
Doesn't get much better than Dane Alderson
Obviamente con cualquier bajo, pero cuando Dane traía ese Pavel y el TRB naranja, uffff...sonaba de miedo.
That right hand technique 👌
I wonder if Gary Willis is an influence...
hahaha i was going to comment the same thing. gary willis all the way! even in the form of the right hand!
also hadrien feraud and mathew garrison, obviously.
Also heard some signature Richard Bona licks in there. Great stuff!
Tasty chops, man.
Bonjour, j'aimerais savoir de quel morceau et quel album est tiré ce solo?
..."I shot the sheriff"....beautiful!!
3:48 cool technique
Triplets and tremolos always smack
Quality....
I used to go and hear Dane with VOID when I lived in P-Town... PJS and Llama Bar.
"EVER"??? Wtf?? TYPICAL!!
Good playing though, Respect..
3:11 good night
Reminds me a bit of Percy Jones.
yes ..the pentatonic scale with flagolettes end with a bag of tricks can be musical..8-)

Finally, a bass soloist not trying to sound like a horn player.
when shane dawson does a bass solo everyone takes notice
Why so poor - only 400... People attention - this is genius...
Thymonofathens my thoughts too..Its speacial.

Are you sure this was a bass solo????
Meh....
Sounded like a lot of disjointed ideas. 😕
Great solo but ugly bass sound. Sounds like a plastic toy bass.
