*Works so well **Fastly.Cool** for rv that it only requires daytime operation until high temp and humidity are overnight. It is difficult to get to side filters, but back is easily accessible.*
Is there a way to re-calibrate the thermostat? The air conditioning comes on at 81 degrees when my indoor thermometer says 77 degrees. The thermostat does say 82 degrees so the thermometer part seems to be off.
Glad we found this video. Used our new camper in 2019. Storage for covid till June 2023. Hate this thermostat. Keeps switching to c from f all by itself. Think it is the wall it is mounted on next to bathroom. Kind of flimsy. Finally reset after cleaned filters. Working fine on a hot day now. The dogs appreciate it. Subscribed for this reason. Thanks again. Heritage Glen owners manual was useless.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! We've been traveling for two months and the AC running at the same time as the heater has been a constant battle!! Our dealer was unable to describe the operating process and of all the manuals I have on all the other Dometic appliances in my rig, none of them had this unit. I appreciate your knowledge and willingness to share it with others. Greatfully, NB
I'm replacing one someone punched a hole in with their fingertip right now. I came here to ask what to do if the furnace just stops showing up one day. It goes from fan to ac to off without going to furnace mode. I have 15 units with this same thermostat and two identical units with same ac/furn setup. Any help would be appreciated
My rv has this exact thermostat. It is flashing a E4 code. My rv has been used on about 6 trips total. So very new. Any idea what could be wrong with it. Thanks in advance.
You forgot to mention the problem I have with the thermostat, causing the fan speed to change once at the auto. This can happen after five times in a minute when it starts glitching. It does it on both of my thermostat and even other people in the RV park where I live have the same exact problem. This is a good reason not even to have this thermostat.
Is there a quick fix to repair if touch sense stops working? This thing stopped working shortly after purchasing the camper new. It works great when the cover is off.
Really a poor design, if you think this thing is so good then maybe you can answer the question,,,, why,,, does it not work with the cover on but works fine with the cover off! Have tried messing w the foam in the squares on the back of the cover, have cleaned the cover and still no luck!!
How bout when it shuts off and never turns back on til I tap the bottom of it a few times. What is the best replacement for this thing? We have dogs. We've gotten lucky 1 to many times and I'm done taking chances.
Unfortunately this thermostat actually has the majority of the comms logic in it and its paired with the control box via 1 wire so conventional thermostats don't work
Same here. Ours seems to have a mind of its own. Changes from f°to c° all on its own. Same thing happened again today. No one touches it but me. Soft touch or hard touch to get it to change...numbers jump all over the place. Wondering how much the new cover would cost. We have two dogs and always worry about them when go fishing. So far so good living it on high fan and set temp. Never know if will be okay when gone for 5 to 7 hrs. Frustrating. Can go to bed with set on auto and 72°and get up and says 4°and switched to Celsius. Leave ours parked year round and don't want to haul to a dealer.
poor design in many areas. kids rub it getting into the bunks and change the temperature. It acts up when you press it like a button instead of just touching it, that is because it isn't very responsive and has a bit of lag which causes people to push harder. The design also makes them look like buttons.
I get E1 regularly and have to reset sometimes it works and I end up doing it multiple times. The temperature setting is off at least 6 degrees// have to set that much higher to get the temperature I want it to keep on heat. Other times when air-conditioning is running and I come back it's colder than what I've set which is usually 78 degrees. I don't want it running continually. This has to be the worst T-stat ever. It came with the digital kit upgrade I had to get because the old analog box quite working. Dometic buying all the stuff from China, says so right on the thermostat!!!
@@mitchelldarnell5334 How did you reset it? I've tried the cold pack trick and disconnecting it and turning off all power to the RV but it still reads the E1 error code.
@@vincentfoley6556 you have to press the up button and the mode button at the same time , hold for at least 3 seconds. You should see two dash’s then you can set up what you want. I use auto and it will do the rest after you set the temperature you want. Usually set inside temperature 10 degrees lower than outside temperature is about all my AC will keep up with anything lower and mine will run continuously. Heat is ok at about 68 degrees. Good luck 👍
poor programming. mine works great until the temp gets close to shut off, and then will cycle the fan from high to low over and over every 20 seconds. it should at least wait a few minutes before being able to change. bad programming. Dometic said to just not use it on auto when in AC, but use high or low. shame. auto would be great if programmed a bit better.
These are garbage. It changes on its own almost every time. Iv watched it cycle throug from furnace to cool multiple times. You have to just leave the face plate off. Its very defective.
Worst thermostat I've had the displeasure to use. I hate it.

Good point about not pressing the buttons too hard. Buttons work on body capacitance not heat.
This is absolutely the worst thermostat I've ever had to deal with! Going to replace it just as soon as possible with different type.

@@MRRVTECH is there a compatable thermostat it can be changed out with?
ellis unfortunately not at this time as it is paired with dometics control box
Now that two yrs has passed anything these can be swapped to? My touch button stopped working and I've resulted to working them without the covers.
Thank you. Flipped the breaker on the a/c unit at 3 am so it would shut off!! Reset the fan switch after this video and it works like its suppose to!!
Thank You so much! Good information 😃

Nice video

Only quick fix is to remove the faceplate and touch the posts directly, if that doesn't work, you need a new thermostat.
How easy is it to swap this unit out for a Bluetooth thermostat?
How can I get it set back to heat
Mine doesn’t even show the furnace mode anymore! What’s going on?
YOU LIKE TO SEE IF YOU EVER CAME ACCROSS THE PROBLEM WITH THE SOFT TOUCH DOMETIC STAT, AND THERE A/C UNIT SHORT CYCLEING. THERMOSTAT OR BOARD.

How to reset E1 error
E1 WILL SHOW UP WHEN THE INTERIOR TEMP EXCEEDS THE THERMOSTATS ABILITY TO DISPLAY, I BELIEVE IT'S 99 DEGREES FARENHEIT.
