I have 800 hours on my new Cat 140. Went from operating antler rack for 30 years to the joystick and absolutely love it! What a nice machine! So comfortable! Love the Bluetooth radio too. Spoiled! might not want to retire next year. Lol😅
That’s awesome to hear that I grew up on the antler rack machines and still operate one today and I definitely miss my joystick controls I tell everyone once you get used to the joystick controls you will t want anything else there a very nice machine I can see how it would be hard to retire from it I appreciate hearing from you and I thank you for watching!
I always had trouble sleeping in anticipation for a week before a new machine showed up. I’m sure I’m not the only equipment junkie that happens to. Congratulations on the new CAT!!!!
I’m surprised Cat doesn’t put the same new cab design that the joystick 120 come with on these 140/150/160’s. I always find the rear cab pillar blocks the view to my wing. Plus the 10” screen was so nice on the new D6 I ran. That and the joystick 120 cab has vent windows, something I don’t understand why they don’t have on the 140/150/160 cabs.
Thanks I appreciate that and I’m a firm believer in your machine should look as good as your work does so I keep my machine in the best condition I can
I’m interested in what kind of wax you use we just received our second 150awd a few weeks ago. Only issue so far is that air cleaner will suck up snow in the right conditions and plug up air filter. Cat has provided use with different air cleaner but without much snow this winter we didn’t have a good test.
I use the turtle spray on wax and then wipe it on and I gotcha once I got my new machines it stopped snowing so have to wait till next winter see if I have similar issues thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! Here is wax I use a.co/d/5P1t3bD
CAT gave us a flat cover so the engine sucks air from inside the compartment. We still get plugged filters sometimes so what we did was take some of that blue mesh furnace filter material and cut a hole the size of the intake pipe, then slide it over the filter intake pipe and put the flat cover on. Then trim the excess off around the cover. It pretty much eliminates the air filter plugging
I have a several other operators who help me on the first day after a storm get roads open then I just have to clean up so that’s how I handle it I do all the maintenance blading myself through
I would agree with you on that but I doubt it will happen they don’t have much for a budget to work with lot of years with poor management is catching up with them unfortunately.
I use the turtle spray on wax and wipe it in by hand takes me about 5 hours to do the whole machine but it’s well worth it thanks for watching! Here is wax I use a.co/d/5P1t3bD
@@Dunlap-uj5zl the township who has the 2020 772GP they had an older Deere that never had been waxed and I did it and really made it shine up sitting in the sun is really hard on the paint I’m lucky my machines are inside so helps keep them looking good
Haha I hope your honesty joking by saying that I also operate a 2020 772GP for another township and the cat 140m3 or 150 will run circles around the Deere in my opinion the cat and Deere are very similar in the lower gears but for snow plowing the cat does way better in 7th and 8th then the Deere does.
@@carlachambers3771 well that’s definitely your opinion I love the joystick controls and if you don’t learn the new controls and technology you will be left be hind thanks for watching!
@@carlachambers3771 I wouldn’t say that at all I’m a firm believer if your a good operator you should be able to operate any control type I operate 4 different machines 2 joystick controlled machines one finger tip controlled machine and the other the conventional controlled machine I grew up learning on a cat 12 with the gear driven controls so I’ve run them all and if you give me the choice to spend a 12hr day I’m hands down picking my joystick controlled machine for comfortably and ease of control just my opinion and in all honesty if you don’t adapt to the new technology and equipment you will definitely be at a disadvantage to someone who does. Thanks for the comment.

You are going to like the snow tires!
Yes I know I will love the snow plus tires I got by with the other ones but it’s night and day difference won’t need 6 wheel drive as often.

My question is how can you maintain 4 Township's if there is a bad storm with two 150 M's and a Deere GP and a 2019 140H with one Operator ???

Very impressive looks very nice 🚜😁👍
Thanks Jim appreciate that I almost hate to get it dirty thanks for watching!
What’s the best blade pitch for the traditional steel edges ?
I run traditional steel edges the same way I run with my carbide edges that 40 to 45 degree pitch.
@@graderman140m how far forward do you roll it?
So do you work for two different townships?
Yes I do I work for 4 different townships thanks for watching!
Something about new cat yellow when it’s all shiny,eh? Get out there and scratch it up!
Yes there definitely is and I really don’t want to get it dirty lol but I will get the paint off the moldboard and shined up thanks for watching!
