Thanks I’ve been told that before and yes it suer does take a lot of seat time to be able to do projects like this I’m on my 18th year of operating so got a few hours in the seat your welcome thanks for watching!
@@AndrewLuneau congratulations on purchasing a grader and starting your company I’m happy to hear the videos have helped you out I thank you for watching!
Top of the Day to Ya Sir!! I like the way You take the time to explain what You're doing . Ya sure make it look purty !! keep up the Good Work Graderman !! i enjoy as always , Thank You !! Take Care
Looks very good and I wish I had some of the equipment and help that you have. I am alone at my county shed and the grader I use is pretty new and decent but the rest of my equipment is not particularly good at doing the tasks I need to do. I wish I had a lift group on the back and that packer though. Thanks for the video.
Thank you and I’m normally by myself for everything but I have extra help when I pull shoulders I have a a guy in the tractor and a guy driving water truck really makes pulling shoulders so much better your welcome I enjoy posting the videos thanks for watching!
There's a lot more to this than you think. Your grading at a pretty good pace, how far do normally do in an average day? I really like your channel you explain things well.
Fine job! Sometimes I wish I had stayed in the county road department and worked the few gravel roads we had. Always satisfying after completing the job, eh?
Maybe it’s because they are having a lot of trouble with the 150 awd. We have two and a third on its way. If the third one is going to be a lemon we will be forced to go to deer. First one we got two years ago we had turbo failure along with a dead hole at 1200hrs and now at 3300 hrs they are replacing injectors. The second one we have has 500 hours on it and it has two separate wiring harnesses fail so it just got loaded up and went in for repair as they need to pull motor and transmission to replace wiring harness!!!! And now maybe things wouldn’t hurt so bad if customer service was good but it’s a joke up here in Saskatchewan
The crazy thing is I pulled shoulders on this mile and won’t be adding any more material I normally put 3inches down after I pull shoulders. Thanks for watching!
Looking real good like that new machine what kind of cutting edges are you using on that right now hope you having a great day thank you for the video 🚜🇺🇸
Thanks Jim yes I really like the new machine got 250 hours on it so far and I’m using the sharq edges on this machine there a solid steel edge I use them when I pull shoulders and your welcome for the video thanks for watching!
@@graderman140m I wish you could show the local grader drivers what to do here. They just throw the loose stone over the bank and not mix it with dirt again.
Central Minnesota..Stearns county...I've showed the township supervisors your videos. They can't even operate the reclaimer right. They leave a 2 to 3 inch lip along the road. No common sense.
I thought about mowing and I would of if I didn’t have the tiller but since I had the tiller to pulverize and mix all the material I figured I could get buy with out mowing it and it worked really good. Thanks for watching!
I’m running second gear to start laying it out once I have my crown established somewhat I will shift up to third and idle back average speed is around 2.8 to 3.5 mph I run my tires at 45psi seems to balance out good at that although I find every machine is different. Thanks for watching!
@@graderman140m copy. I had a chance to pull shoulders and reshape about a quarter mile of road. I only have about 250hrs in a blade but it turned out real nice. Made a flat wide runway into a crowned road that's much easier to maintain. When I established the crown I was going slow and was wondering if I should be going faster. It's a lot to keep track of when you're trying to get 4% and maintain a good load across the full width of the moldboard etc. I have a tire that's out of round and I've been running at 60 PSI in the rear and 45 in the front. Unfortunately The oblong tire is in the rear. I'm going to try taking some air out of it to see if that helps. Usually if I'm carrying a heavy load it's not as noticeable. Thx for the videos. Don't worry about your camera. It is hard to see the depth but that's ok. You're an operator not a camera man.
You make it look to easy lol. I’ve started pulling shoulders where I’m at and all the residents keep yelling that we shouldn’t be doing it 🤦🏻♂️. What size is your guys tractor? Thanks again for the videos.
@@tonynygaard3358 thanks for the compliment and I’m not surprised it’s a very tough thing to try to explain to the residents that shoulder pulling is a very important practice to have a good road I went through the same struggle when I first started doing it but now that my supervisors and the residents see the end result they are all on board. Our tractor is 110hp works great to run the tiller and really makes a nice product for me to work with thanks for watching!
@@tonynygaard3358 I do a fair amount of training here in South Dakota I do hands on training for SDLTAP I also went to North Dakota this past spring and did a shoulder pulling training for them. Yes I take my front fenders off when I pull shoulders or do dirt work otherwise yes you end up tearing them off so just easy to take them off quick. Thanks for watching
You need better cameras to see the depth. Go pro fish eye lens dosnt show much but a flat road. Cant see what the road crown and shoulders are sloped at.

The way you maintain a road makes sooo much sense. It’s seems cost effective in the long run. Too bad our local DOT don’t see things this way.
I’m happy that you think that I’ve found doing it this way you keep your road way shape and roads preform so much better thanks for watching!
Mark did a great job instructing on the Shoulder Pulling technique. Thank you Mark for sharing your knowledge through NDLTAP.
Always liked pulling shoulders

Would you normal mow the shoulders first to eliminate to much shoulder growth and lumping up ( just asking ) from Canada !
