Thanks for the video. Brings back great memories. My Dad was a grader man for over 30 years. For my 8th birthday he took me to work with him on an old knuckle buster cat. Best birthday ever!! He later ran an Austin Western which he liked much better because of the hydrolics and rear steering capabilities. I used to help him change blades and grease the machine. He was an excellent finish grader operator. Such great memories! I’m now 77 years old and every time I see a grader working I want to stop and watch. These new cats are awesome. Wish he’d gotten a chance to run one of those. Most people don’t know the level of skill it takes to be a real pro on these machines. Keep the videos coming. Will have to see your Camaro. I’ve had three Vettes, currently a 2016 Z06. Man, you’re really blessed. Cool cars and graders!! My two favorite things. 😊
@horacehogan495 thank you very much . I will do my best to make more grader videos. It's difficult to Blade a road and video. But on a straight stretch I can for a little while. I'm going to get a mount for holding my camera so I can do longer play videos. I think people would love to see. Thank you for your watching and if you haven't yet go ahead and hit that subscribe but. I'd greatly appreciate it 🙏
Cool video! Brings back memories! I used to help my dad change them out on bulldozers, looks the same except the dozens have end bits. Thanks for sharing!👍
You make it look so easy. I have difficulty with a tractor blade. (3 point linkage). I can control tilt, angle, angle of "cut", and offset. Cant seem to get it so its "right". I think I dont leave the positioning alone long enough. Brilliant "work day stuff"
@johnbarham7718 thank you sir it's took years of experience and practice. It's hard to make an angle blade do stuff smooth. I'm better with a box blade on a tractor
Hey there, yes I really enjoy watching a fellow Blade operator work, been operating a blade myself for about 20 years, I operate a 620 GP John Deere I think it’s a 2024 model. I do enjoy it. I like Kat as well but yes, keep your videos coming. I look forward to learning from other operators
@@michaelalan1546 thank you sir. I made a short video after this one and the key board warriors thrashed me. But you know how it is everyone that's not an operator knows more about grading than we do. I ignored them and moved on.
@@outfitsgarage88 I understand, you try to show things in how you really operate and there are those who just think they know better.. I appreciate your genuine videos, I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thanks again.
What is that you use to hold the blade up I can’t find any thing to use to help me and my blades seem heavy you are sling them around like they are 10 pounds
@pearlriverfury2884 it's a round bar that fits in the bolt hole. Heat it and bend it with the one end through the hole enough to hold. And the rest is bent I'm a u shape. Like a horse shoe.
How are used to run a worn out 12 E cat many years ago for the Shelby County highway department in Alabama that thing had so much slack the blade would move up and down 6 inches bouncing over those old church roads
@@outfitsgarage88 I’ve never run a grader, but I see all those controls and don’t understand how a guy hits tah be a good blade hand. You guys that know make it look waaay easier than I know it is.

Awesome video!! I run a (blade) 120H grader myself so I enjoy the blading videos
@terryhayes7046 thank you I'm working on another video right now

@@outfitsgarage88 Thank you for your reply. Got box blade, yes its easier, but does not "cut" like a heavy blade. Mine weighs 2000lb. Will practice.
Awesome video RUSSELL. Thanks for sharing. Keep the videos coming. Hope you have an incredible night.

@outfitsgarage88 that's a great blade hanger tool. When you need a extra hand...make 1

Glad I watched this , like that bracket you used I’m going to make one, good video keep up the good work.
@verlehumphrey5504 it's a peace of 5/8 round stock bent like a horse shoe but flat on the bottom where the black rest
Glad to see you getting some views. Good channel right here.
@2StallGarage thank you sir. I'm going to try to start doing one of these kind of videos once weekly. My watch hours are below 600.
Right. I've helped change out some on dozens and trackhoes
👍👍👍
Looks good. I saw how you built that holder. Can we get a close up shot of it. Thanks.
@rodkinzler9275 yes ill have a video on it soon. It's a peace of 5/8 round stock bend in basically a horse shoe but flat on the blade side.
I ran an old one like that with a boom mounted bush hog to cut right of way

@lilbluepuphiphip4905 lol yup. I started out on an old graderthat had a pony motor on it
I’d think anybody learning the grader would benefit to watching your movements in the cab. JPaydirt has quite a few blade videos.

How long do them blades last
@lyleash9669 depends on the road conditions. Sometimes it will last a day others a couple days
After 50years in the seat, I don't like the two piece blade. Don't seam too last like the full blade.
Stevie wonder can scrap a dirt road
