It definitely could have had retail potential, Maybe come up with a better name and just stick with the pattern backgrounds. Still a good game though. Maybe the community can make a better set of backgrounds and add full CD32 controller support.
Yeah I mean it was probably cool when you were 17 years old with "babes" everywhere and calling it Babeanoid but it grows old fast if you are not stuck in your teens mentally. I'd like to see the game being "de-babed" and renamed.
Wow! This is incredible. I'd watch more of this. More generally it's a very cool idea to mix different games into Arkanoid. I'd love to see that developed further.
Agreed. "Some" of the backgrounds remind me of an arcade game called Fantasia, which is an 18 rated Qix clone. It's the kind of game you'd find hiding in the corner of some Seedy betting shop. It's fun in its own right, but the digitized smutty backgrounds make it seem cheap. A similar thing is happening here. The pixel art and general presentation is beautiful, but the digitized photos make it seem demoish. Now. With some incredible background artwork, based in the titles sci fi and fantasy theme, could elevate this to something really special,.imo. and it would be preferable to having a black bg. That's the end of my criticism. The rest is excellent stuff. Keep up the great work.
@Saberman: please, correct the description info: Richard 'Dawnbringer' Fhager is the author of the game of course, and there is no link to the game from Aminet (you linked the new backdrops only)
looks good but is it just me thinking that the ball nearly always ends up going nearly full horizontal travel with little way to get the ball bouncing more vertical, other bat+ball games change the angle of the ball bounce depending where you hit it with the bat but this just seems to continue the current bounce trajectory regardless of where the bat hits the ball which is a shame.
The "dudish" non-serious backgrounds bring the game down when the pixel art of the game is so beautiful.
totally agreed, a complete black BG would be infinitely better...

I agree those backgrounds have to go.
Extremely cool otherwise.

One of the many things that make this Arkanoid clone so special: you can give an effect to the ball slicing it left or right when hitting the bat!
Wow, that's the best Arkanoid clone I've ever seen! So many not obvious elements and very detailed graphics. Music and sfx also nice.
It is! :) Criminally underrated... Fan-made Babes backdrops collection for the game available from Aminet.
Its absolutely brilliant! Love it!🎉🎉 Happy new year!

Happy New Year 🧨 😄
Change the backgrounds in the game and we have something top notch!

Understood, corrected. I apologise for the mistake.
@@Saberman if you could also add link to the game archive itself, in addition to the new backdrops... 'babeanoid.lha' from Aminet. Thank you!
I've added the links!
@@Saberman Does your video show the new backdrops?
Yes, but later today I think I'll upload a recording of the original version of the Babenoid game.
i would like it better without the weird backgrounds

Great observation, that seems to be the case indeed.
thought more of "asteroids" or "jill of the jungle" than "arkanoid".. lol.
With some decent backgrounds (or preferably none at all) I would have liked it more.. now I just can't stand it. Too bad as it is a great game.
UPRGADE IT. AND PUT IT IN ARCADES EVERYWHERE
Babeanoid with dudes as background. What a scam.
