I just bought the same Dewalt saw and was wondering about options for making a router table. Then I found this video on combining both, which is much better than making or buying a separate unit for the router. Thanks for posting this video!
Well Done indeed!! Brilliant! I've been fretting about where in my tiny, basement workshop I was going to build and squeeze in a router table. This is perfect since I recently purchased a Dewalt DWE7491. I can't tell you how pleased and impressed I am with your design. NO MODIFICATIONS at all to the saw yet it's easily and securely installed and removed. Of course I had to tweak it slightly for my needs. I enlarged the table slightly (27.5" x 10") to accommodate my Incra--Fence, a perfect addition! I got completely lucky and discovered an old Craftsman power switch in a box that I think came off an old router table and added that to the face. A HUGE bonus benefit is that once I have a perfect cut set up I can still remove the entire fence/table and park it on a shelf, use my saw (which can't be done with the router table in place), then reinstall it and my router cut is still locked in place! WOW!! Great design! Thanks so much!
Absolute genius! I have a DW745 table saw and a tiny workshop. I will definitely be making one of these! One idea I had since watching is to make the top bigger and add t-tracks to lock down a fence. Thanks so much for sharing
I have the same table saw. I just built a table for it with a 42cm router extension on the opposite side than yours. The extension doubles as support for the fence when ripping large stock, basically giving me a 100cm (~40") table in total. The router extension is equipped wit a Triton MOF001 1400W router mounted in a recessed mounting plate from Rockler, and an in-line start/stop mechanism mounted on the table frame for easier access. I have also built an auxiliary fence with built-in dust extraction port for the router that clamps onto the saws rip fence with table clamps (Bessey TK6) and a full length plate for load distribution (the extruded aluminium profile is quite fragile). The flip-over support bracket and push stick holders were removed for this purpose, and a notch made in the upper corner to make space for the label-thingie on the back.
@@jram1852 I have a few. When they were taken, it was still "work in progress" though (and it basically still is). And remember, the whole table was purpose built with this extension in mind. The small overhang seen on the second picture was made to make it easier to access the locking lever for the rip fence. hepau.dk/images/DSC_0013.JPG hepau.dk/images/DSC_0015.JPG hepau.dk/images/DSC_0020.JPG hepau.dk/images/DSC_0035.JPG hepau.dk/images/DSC_0036.JPG
i really liked how simple and yet effective this router table on a dewalt jobsite saw was, so i built one. it is now my favorite jig in the shop. thanks for sharing this idea . awesome!
I’m taking this idea and making a few modification to allow use of the fence with the router. The dewalt table saw has an amazing fence system. I hate to not include it in the design. Still working out a few things but it’s definitely going to work.
This gave me the idea to make an insert for my Bosch table saw extension rail. With the insert area I was able to make it a perfect fit allowing my table saw to support my new router table. Thanks for the idea to spark my creation
You gave me a great idea for when I build my work bench here soon. I'm trying to consolidate as much as possible while maintaining efficiency. Thanks for the upload👍👍
Excellent solution, i have all the individual tools which is why i have no space left to work with them. Such is the problem of tool collecting addiction. 😢
I was searching for a way to mount my Bosch router table into a Dewalt table saw I'm thinking of buying today and found this video. Now I wish I didn't buy the router table LOL .... Very nicely done!
i did this and it works great!! Only problem is I mainly have my router in my CNC router machine (Onefinity CNC) so taking it out and installing it in the table saw is a pain. Most likely I will purchase a second router but this design is awesome..It will even work good without the screws and locking it..You could almost skip that step and secure it with double sided tape or clamps. :).
Great freaking idea! Thanks for this demo vid. That router is next on my “tools to buy” list, and I wanted a table mount option but didn’t want another table. I’m also limited in space. This will be the perfect solution!
the dewalt table saw has a reversible fence - so if you did what this guy did, but on the RIGHT side of the table saw, then you'd be able to flip the fence and use it for your router table too
Well done. Very innovative approach to confined space. When will you be adding a dust collection system. Can't wait to see your creative approach to this problem we all experience when using router
This is a really good video. The only thing I would’ve changed is when mounting the router to the plywood I would’ve recessed the router plate into the plywood which would give you more reach with the router bit. I hope that makes sense….
Great idea! I wonder if you could tap holes in the side of the table and mount brackets there for your aux router table. Then you could use the table saw fence in conjunction with the router
Brilliant. I have almost the same saw, this should be easy to do from your video. Much more stable routing long lengths of lumber on a table instead of by hand.
I'd suggest that by supporting the front edge of the router support inside the rail rather than on top, you could use the table saw slide and fence as a fence for your router. But other than that this is absolutely awesome, I'll be doing it too.
Maybe we can use the miter gauge track that is near to make some sort of fence on a sled, with T-tracks on that sled perpendicular mounted to the miter gauge track so the fence can slide from left to right.
Very nice job, but you may want to look up router safety as at the end you was pushing you wood in the wrong direction and this is unsafe as you can get a climbing cut
Good job, but: Routing with the spinning direction of the router is very dangerous. Especially with your fingers that close. Please push always against the spinning direction!!!
Thank you. That was giving me anxiety watching that part. I'd also like to add: Use a push stick and a track whenever possible with small parts especially.
Yeah I was about to say the only flaw with this approach is if you stand on the same side of the saw that you would to cut with the table saw you'd be climb cutting which can be problematic. He could always just walk around to the other side of the table and feed the opposite way.
Fantastic!! Copyright it then call dewalt and all the other table saw manufacturers and kerching!! With a few mods this will sell like hotcakes via the table saw manufacturers , if i could have bought this as an addition when purchasing my DW745, i would have done. Genius idea, well done!!👍
Awesome work, dude! Nicely done! 😃 That big piece of wood at 4:15 would be a fantastic head for a mallet! 😃 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
update: could not wait for the response so I went ahead and made one on the opposite side of the saw which has a wider base. Thanks for the idea .......Great idea! Is that one inch plywood? I have the same table saw. You wouldn't happen to have a parts cut list? Measurements? 😊

YUP. Was getting all set to build some sort of router table that would attach with clamps to my workbench. This is a MUCH better solution.
I just bought the same Dewalt saw and was wondering about options for making a router table. Then I found this video on combining both, which is much better than making or buying a separate unit for the router. Thanks for posting this video!
Just bought the Dewalt job site table saw and this addition will come in handy. I also have a small workshop. So thanks 🙏 ❤

WOW, just WOW! Simple to build, inexpensive, compact. Love it.
I agree.. Now to get an adjustable fence on it.
This is a very good idea and quite helpful. Thank you

Was thinking about a fence . make it on the right side so can use the fence from table saw.
The fence works well on both sides. Guys
What size bolt did you use to tighten it to the table saw.
I have the same table saw. I just built a table for it with a 42cm router extension on the opposite side than yours. The extension doubles as support for the fence when ripping large stock, basically giving me a 100cm (~40") table in total.

I've been thinking about something like this for far too long. Time to actually do it. Thanks for the post.
This is probably the best and easiest idea I’ve seen for a router table! I’ll definitely be adding this onto my Dewalt table saw as well! Thank you!
i really liked how simple and yet effective this router table on a dewalt jobsite saw was, so i built one. it is now my favorite jig in the shop. thanks for sharing this idea . awesome!
That’s it. You win the router attachment to table saw prize! Brilliant!
I’m taking this idea and making a few modification to allow use of the fence with the router. The dewalt table saw has an amazing fence system. I hate to not include it in the design. Still working out a few things but it’s definitely going to work.

Me too.
Any updates/pictures?
I would also like to see a pic thanks!
Did you ever post a picture/video adapting so you can use the dewalt fence?
I made this router table for my Delta table saw. It worked great! Thank you so much!
Your plan also widens the table saw table! Brilliant build. Thank you for sharing, friend. Be well!
Just saved myself some money and garage space. Perfect attachment. Thank you.
Nice build, simple, clear and no stupid music - new subscriber.

Brilliant! Simple! Like you every sq cm counts in my workshop. This solves my problem of where to store a router table. Thanks heaps.
I was searching for a way to mount my Bosch router table into a Dewalt table saw I'm thinking of buying today and found this video. Now I wish I didn't buy the router table LOL .... Very nicely done!
So simple, yet so effective. I like the comment about putting it on the other side so u can use the fence 4 both applications. Nice job!
Something I’m actually gonna build out of all the UA-cam vids I watch this one will actually help me. Thanks
I've the exact same saw and router. This will be a great addition to my tool shed, great video.
The second I hear measurements in mm's, I'm watching. That was simply brilliant.
My DeWalt table saw arrives today, guess what I am up to this weekend! Thanks for this video!
Being limited on space myself, this is a great idea! Ingenious!
An easy straight forward way to create the router extension. Great video! 👍🏼
Simple solution.
Great video, straight forward and especially none of the usual UA-cam faff. 👍👍👍
Genius !! I’ll be doing this over the next few days, I can’t wait, what a perfect solution 😃👍

I have that little table saw at my lake camp and love it! I can store it under a bench until I need it, then I can mount it on my workmate for use
Great freaking idea! Thanks for this demo vid. That router is next on my “tools to buy” list, and I wanted a table mount option but didn’t want another table. I’m also limited in space. This will be the perfect solution!
This is an ingenious use of space. I wish it would work for me, but that space is already accounted for.
Great idea! Gonna think about how to add an adjustable fence for it too!
I was thinking about this too. Thinking that with the adjustable bolts to secure, could the table saw fence be adjusted and used for it?
the dewalt table saw has a reversible fence - so if you did what this guy did, but on the RIGHT side of the table saw, then you'd be able to flip the fence and use it for your router table too
Love this. Just got a DeWalt compact router and debating doing this with my rigid jobsite table saw
Well done. Very innovative approach to confined space. When will you be adding a dust collection system. Can't wait to see your creative approach to this problem we all experience when using router
Wish I saw this yesterday when I was making doors lol. Just brilliant
This is so simple yet brilliant. i love it and I will be making one as well.
A good idea for a tiny shop like mine. I'm definitely going to make this. Thanks!
Amazing. On the way to make one and get rid of the router table. Thank you.
This is a really good video. The only thing I would’ve changed is when mounting the router to the plywood I would’ve recessed the router plate into the plywood which would give you more reach with the router bit. I hope that makes sense….
