    Fitting Bar Riser's To Any Bike UNDER £20 | Honda NC750x / CB500X/F/CBR/REBEL
Honda bar risers are aftermarket accessories designed to raise the handlebars on Honda motorcycles, providing a more comfortable riding position for the rider. These risers are typically made from durable materials such as aluminum or steel and are available in various heights and designs to suit different preferences and bike models.
By installing bar risers, riders can achieve a more upright riding position, which can help reduce strain on the wrists, shoulders, and back. This is particularly beneficial for riders who experience discomfort or fatigue during long rides or for those who prefer a more relaxed riding posture.
Bar risers can be purchased from motorcycle accessory stores or online retailers that specialize in motorcycle parts and accessories. When purchasing bar risers, it's essential to ensure that they are compatible with your specific Honda motorcycle model, as different bikes may have different handlebar mounting systems.
Installation of bar risers typically involves removing the existing handlebar clamps and replacing them with the risers. It's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions or consult a professional if you are unsure about the installation process.
Remember that modifying your motorcycle's handlebars can affect its handling characteristics, so it's important to consider your riding style and preferences before making any changes. Additionally, it's always recommended to consult with experienced riders or motorcycle mechanics for advice on selecting the right bar risers for your Honda motorcycle.
New bar risers for my Honda NC750x but this is quite generic across other models and brands too.
Just an inch higher and back does make a good difference on handling and comfort.

Hiya, well after 3 years I have finally got around to fitting the bar risers as you suggested, I came across your video last night which reminded me I hadn't done it yet. I had thought mi bike wasn't too bad other than giving me aching hands after an hour or so of riding. I got my risers this afternoon and followed your instructions and like you, I didn't have to do anything to the cables other than give them a gentle tug to make the free play longer. I went out for a ride soon as I had finished and I was amazed, for £20 it's like you bought me a new bike, what a difference, my hand ache has completely gone and I am so much more comfortable and therefore happier, I'm sure the bike feels just right, you know that feeling when it just feels right and good, well I have that feeling now. It's weird it feels much happier tipping into corners at speed and I'm much happier doing maneuvers as well now. Did you ever take your bolts out and use Locktight? I didn't use it in case I wanted to change back but like you, there is no way I would do that now, I also used my old Hnnda top plate as I reckon it looks better than those Allen bolts, do you think that will be OK ?. Thanks again mate.

      Nice one Paul,
I couldn't be without mine now. Others have found the cables too tight, but again it hasn't caused me any issues either....No going back here.
I never did locktight them but so far they have remind tight and no issues.
Glad you got on OK with it. Other NC users say mine feels much better than standard bars. Cheers

I too had shoulder pain while riding my stock 2019 NC750. I added the one inch up and back bar risers and it made a very positive difference. The shoulders are good for all day rides and I feel control is much better as well; I can counter steer and corner much easier. I could never go back!

Thanks for your videos. Just installed a riser from LSL 25mm/up, 17mm/back . Instructions mention a 25Nm / 18.4lbf ft of tightening torque. On my NC750X DCT from 2015, I had to pull the cables a little, I am still not very comfortable with front brake cable that is resisting adjustment, seems to have glue on turret attachment. Still work in progress :-)

I fitted the exact same ones on my 2019 nc750 and found they made the bike easier to handle as you show doing your figure of 8's. The only difference to you my front brake pipe is held in a rubber grommet and was a struggle to raise a bit because it had been glued into it from manufacturer and i also fitted the original bolts back in the top which i think look better than the alan key bolts supplied, enjoyed the vid keep them coming.

I usually have to do stuff like this to my bikes. It is my no 1 irritation about bike manufacturers, their one size fits all attitude. If I buy a car - the cheapest car on the market, it will certainly have a seat that adjusts, probably adjustable steering wheel too. I can even adjust it on the go. But bikes, even very expensive ones offer little or no adjustment to handlebars or seat position. It can't be beyond their wit.

Thanks mate, yes it passed 10minutes after the video. Just the suspension now, when the kids are off the tele I can watch someone I'm subscribed do his thing 😉👍, alignment? I must have missed that. Off and on job isn't it? or am I missing something?. Jane you lifted yours?

Ahh got ya, yes it's 3mm thinner each side of the risers so I just centred it up and had to leave it as is. Shame really they couldn't mould it 6mm bigger.

After you installed the risers with the short screws did you use the stock screws to put the top plate in or the screws that came with the risers?

Can't remember now tbh, but pretty sure I used the originals

How did you get away with not doing something with the cables and hoses? I tried to put these on my bike today and wouldn't fit. The brake and clutch cables are too short. It's an ABS bike.

    • @exeterrider

Did you use the same ones as I did? I needed to pull a bit of slack but mine and many others had fitted fine with no issues?

  • @leonstancliff7218

Just think about the math you are adjusting. Your bike is like a large lever, the bars are your force, the center of gravity is your load and the tire contact patch is your fulcrum. You just moved your hands about 50mm up and closer to yourself, giving yourself more control of the end of that lever. Like putting longer handles on a wheelbarrow. You are also now straight up and not leaning, so your strength is focused on the control of that lever.
Quit worrying about the looks and concentrate on controlling the bike. Road survival trumps looks any day of the week. How good did you look when you went down on that icy patch a few months back?

    • @exeterrider
      @exeterrider  4 роки тому

I thought I looked really good on the ice 😂❄️yes about 10 minutes after the video I knew I made the right decision. I had alot on my head that day and trying to get a video out aswell my mind started playing tricks on me. It had a much nicer feel now. Thanks for watching the video 🍻👍📺

Added 20mm SW-MOtech Barr risers to my NC750X which means I sit slightly more upright - however found the seat better as well as my posture is different than without the bar risers.
