I do love my cats. I have 3 inside and one feral that prefer her outside status. Two are 15 years old long haired brother and sister who are reclaimed feral. I have one 10 years old reclaimed feral they stay in the house and 1 have one fixed 5 year old feral. She just does not like being a house cat but she is a sweetie. She does not care to be handled but she comes around for her talk time, to talk to you and be around by you. I am a senior citizen and I am grateful for their company.
That's very sweet, Dianna! I have an indoor/outdoor crew myself, mostly former ferals. There's a couple of ferals I can't touch, but that's ok... sometimes, you've gotta love 'em on their terms. ❤
Lovely, Not all cats will, Or want to be house cats. Had one tear up my place coz I kept her inside, I finally gave up after more escapes than I care to mention. Does not mean we love them less, or they love us less, They just don't do well indoors. Usually one we found outside and tamed enough to pet💙,feed, 😋 love on,💗 But not keep inside. 😲🔥😲 Your certainly not alone in your struggle. I have over 25+ , Kitten season brought 9 more. Getting these girls fixed soon as done nursing. 🔥

Jackson, you are amazing! Thank you for being such a great resource for all of us who love our cats. We have three rescue cats. All three have different personalities and preferences. Your show and videos have affirmed how I interact and support our fur family. They have also given me greater knowledge and insights. Our latest rescue had terrible infected eyes when rescued behind a dumpster as a tiny kitten. We continued to treat her for several more weeks when we took over her care. Phoebe was diagnosed at six months with glaucoma. At just past her first year with us we had both eyes removed. I grieved for her eyesight the week before her surgery. She adapted so well. She loves hearing birds, crickets, etc. We take her out on our back porch so she can be stimulated by the sounds and smells outside. Now with your flea formula and harness we’ll introduce her first to walking on the porch and then in our yard. Thank you again for your support of us and to cat rescue!!

Jackson, I have never had a cat in 66 years until now... by accident! I do have years of experience with dog oenership, rescue and training/behaviour. I want to tell how useful I'm finding your videos, and will certainly buy some books. We feed wildlife and put out a night camera. Several cats come to pick at the food etc. or just pass through. One of them would run away if we went out but we assumed she was owned as many neighbours have multiple cats. Eventually we realised that she was always in or around our garden and never went 'home'. Last winter I put out food, water and shelter but she still ran away. After many months we gained her trust and could touch her, after many more she was timidly coming inside. Now she's in more than out and one of the greatest things for me is that if I go to the bathroom she often comes in and uses her litter tray at the same time so it's us girls going together! She's my princess and every day I tell her how brave and clever she was to look after herself and find us to help her (we once saw her on the night camera killing and eating a rat she caught). Thank you again. We're going to have the best life together now, with your help ❤

I remember one year I was so depressed I didn't want to celebrate my birthday, so I asked my family to celebrate my cat instead.
They bought several toys designed by Jackson Galaxy. That was over 4 years ago and these toys are still going strong, are enjoyed often by my original cat and our newer addition to the family.
Watching them play with these toys brings me so much joy as they are very intuitive and speak to their instinctual "raw cat" urges. (There's one orange kicker toy specifically that makes a crispy velcro sound in the middle when bunny kicked and soft fur at both ends my cats love to latch onto and nibble and it's so beautiful.)

I absolutely LOVE your website. My tiny kitty, 16-year old Buttons, was just diagnosed with IBD. I'm looking for videos for IBD cats. Right now, my vet and I are tryig a limited diet, but she also wants to put my baby on anti-inflammatory meds - like NSAIDS. I'm just a critic by nature, so I'm getting a second opinion on this. In the meantime, I use your B-12 supplement (which literally keeps her from throwing up every day - it's a miracle!) and Stress Stopper when I have to give meds for whatever issue comes up. Just know that you're a Godsend to my baby and me. 😻😻😻

Hi jackson congratulations congratulations on your new website. Jackson, I have a bit of a problem with my 2 cats. The male cat keeps chasing the female cat all the time. And I don't know how to stop it. Could you just give me a quick idea as to curb it

Here's one for you:
My wife and I inherited her mother's cat late last year, and it's got an unbelievable phobia - she's terrified of human hands! Feet she loves, and will run up to be foot-petted if in the mood for attention, but bringing a hand within a 1-foot distance of her will cause instant growling, leading to hissing and fleeing if we persist or try to actually touch her with a hand.
On occasion, she can get around it by simply intentionally looking away, so she doesn't see the hand, but the moment she can see it and recognize a hand on or near her, she quickly loses her composure, hisses, and runs off.
Any ideas or solutions?
She more than likely has a memory of a human hand hurting her in the past. It has almost been a year since you inherited the cat and she still has the phobia is concerning. Jackson has a ton of videos and suggestions on this topic that can help. Perhaps it’s the way you pick up the cat or approach her. I wish you good luck.
@@DreWhite100 Pick her up?? That would require gloves and long sleeves - she goes into a terror frenzy if she can't instantly escape. Approaching her is never a problem, she's totally friendly until a hand gets within 1 foot of her.
How would I find any of those "ton" of videos or suggestion on this topic? I've NEVER heard of any similar case, and nothing I've seen here comes close.

Hi Jackson! How are you? I already beg pardon for the length of this message!😂My ten years old cat today did something strange. I went to throw out the trash but I left the door slightly opened. I usually don't do that because I go out alone and I take the keys with me, but since my mom and my sister were at home and I'm very fast to throw the trash out I didn't even bother to close. When I was getting back I heard my cat screaming and I ran, finding her in the landing of my condominium (I'm not really sure you say it like that in english). I ran over to her and I took her in my arms. She was very rigid but when i took her home she got back to normality in a minute. I have to tell you a year ago we moved to a new house, when she was nine. When i threw the trash out in the old house I always left the door opened since we were on ground floor and I was very fast. She aways did this thing of going downstair the five steps we had but when i got back she entered the house calmly with me. It was kind of exploring I think for her but since she has always been a stay at home cat she has never went over that and she never showed interest in doing it. She loves staying at home and she never dash out of the door when we open it. The thing she did today, she has done it when we had just moved and since then I've never left the door open again like I used to do in the old house. Today I just forgot about it and I actually didn't think she would have done it again.
I will surely never leave the door open so she will stay safe and sound but I was curious about this behavior: do you have any explanation, or even just an hypothesis?
The weird about it, both of the times it happened, was that she just went downstairs and then stopped, like froze and start screaming like asking for help. It was like she couldn't find her way back, or so i thought. Because why staying there in the landing all scared when she could have just gone back to her home? Is it possible she could't understand how to get back (even though we are on the first floor, so very few steps) or maybe se knew but couldn't do it because frozen by fear of something?
And why getting down in the first place if this is so scary for her (even though in the old house it wasn't)?
I want to add that she acclimatized very weel in the new house in a few days and she is happy, calm, and healthy.

Jackson, can you PLEASE help us? I have the sweetest little Grey cat that I adopted from our local shelter. I love him so much and I know he loves me too. He cried for attention if I'm busy... so u usually stop what I'm doing to live in him. However, he has NEVER allowed anyone or me to just have him sit on my lap so we can cuddle. How and WHAT do you recommend? After open heart surgery, I cannot continue to bend over to the floor to let him very long. I really need help here! Thank you SO MUCH! I have two cats, Charlie (M2) and Aslan (M2,5). Both neutered. They have a beautiful friendship and love to play tag with each other. They have never had a fight before. They just play hard as male cats do. They have easy access to a small catio and love it.
A neighbourhood cat came by in our yard and Charlie went berserk. I scared the other cat off and Charlie proceeded to attack Aslan. I had to put Charlie in another room for him to calm down. They reunited a couple of hours later and the fighting stopped. They are okay now but they are not playing together. Their favourite game is to play tag. Take turns to chase each other. That’s not a good thing after the fight. I’ve just let them cool down and hoped they would figure it out but nothing is happening. I’ve tried the last couple of days to play with them and encourage them but one always walks away. They are only play with me for small periods of time
Should I just let them figure it out on their own and hope for the best? And how do I keep the neighbourhood cats out of our yard so it doesn’t happen again?

Jackson I need advice. My furbaby is 2yo almost 3. He REFUSES to drink water unless is from the sink. I've bought all sorts of water fountains, water bowls. I'm at a loss. I'm at work all day. I need to make sure he drinks water. He already had a UTI, got blockade and needed a procedure to fix that. Got a catheter put in and then removed. So far he's been good but I've been having to give him water with a syringe. I'm lost. I don't want him getting sick again. Please help me. He is neutered as well if that helps with anything.

what are the safest cleaning supplies to have to clean when you have cats
Hi jackson! I have never approved of declawing. We did, however, rescue a cat who was declawed. Because of this, i consider my cat to be special needs. I am having a hard time finding resources on how to make my declawed cat more comfortable. Types of litter that are softer, types of materials that are most comfortable for them to walk on / get traction to climb, etc. In my case, she does still have her back claws but obviously, her mobility is still very limited. I want to make her as happy and comfortable as possible. If there is anything I can do to make her life easier, i would like to accommodate it. There are very limited resources online that i have been able to find. Its all about declawing prevention. Unfortunately, we are passed that point, and i am trying to take care of a cat who was irresponsibly cared for previously. Are you able to make a video about how to make declawed cats more comfortable, or are you able to provide a resource with some detailed care information outside of, don't declaw? Could "Joint Support" be beneficial for the pain i am assuming she has?
I have a question?! My big kitty guy is 14 yrs old. My son was 3 years old when he got the cat, the cat was just off momma. My son is in his final year of highschool hes 17 and it's about time to leave the nest, do we send the cat with him or keep the cat here at it's home? They are absolutely bonded and kitty hates not being with boy. But also hates leaving the house. What do we do? We all love the cat so much and only want his long long life!
I need to figure out what to do with my cat. Her obsession about having her back scratched right above her tail is beyond something she likes and is what I'd consider a mental illness. It's 24 hours a day, the skin above her tail is gone. She chews it and bites your fingers in a attempt to get you to keep doing it. She chases us around the house meowing constantly and if you show her any affection she walks to the point that you can't reach anywhere past her back above her tail. It's nuts.

I have bought lots of products trying to help my scarf n barf cat. Including yours. Multiple vets tell me nothing is physically wrong with my cat but nothing I do seems to work. I'm at a loss. Anyone have other suggestions? I've tried slow feeders. Feeding her separately. Soft food. Raw food. Specialty food. I do not know what else to do.
Jackson, do you have any information about pancreatitis in cats? For the past 4 months my cat Clementine an orange female short haired tabby gets recurring pancreatitis. She is 3 years old We have her on a low fat diet. Dry food Royal Canin Vet Digestive health. I feed it to my other 3 kitties. It costs 70 dollars a month. All of my cats eat it. Before this they were all on Purina One Kitten. I noticed it was high in fat. I had them on this because we had a 2 month old kitten last October. She weighs 14 and a 1/2 pounds. They are indoor cats. We have a two story house with a basement that is 1800 square feet. They get plenty of exercise. We will not be getting more cats. I bought her some Royal Canin Digestive Health wet Food. They all want to eat that too. Do you have any ideas on how to separate the cats so they do not eat her food. They eat Wilderness Blue Buffalo and Fancy Feast Spinach and Salmon. We do not feed them human food except for occasional baked chicken without additives or Boars Head no salt natural turkey breast. My cat with pancreatitis. does not like human food. We are going out of town for a week and will have someone to come in and look after them. I wondered how to separate my sick cat during feedings? I been a cat and human parent for over 40 years. We had many cats over the years. Both male and female. I lost many males from FUS. So we went with all female. They are all spayed. 3 are rescues.

One cat had a wound on his nose - it is vet checked and clearing up. BUT still sore, when he nose buts me or the other cat and it hurts, does he know he has a sore nose? Or does he feel like we smacked him?
edit: Just adopted 5 year old cats, from RSPCA. They were taken from a bad situation by the inspectors. Brother and sister and very closely bonded. de-sexed of course! And will be 100% indoor cats.
