Excellent video, thank you.
Thanks. I have the same. How’d one load pots? We have unusual dishes and lots of bowls so it can be a challenge. Still getting used to it. But it’s great for a small condo
The left hand side rack pegs can be removed. You'll notice they can be adjusted to change spacing for dishes, but this whole piece is attached by plastic clips on each end to the rack below. You remove this segment and you have the entire left hand side open to put all sorts of different size stuff.
Previous FP double drawer washer had lower wash cycle times. It seems we can’t change these longer wash cycles on DD24DAX. Do you find that correct? Seems like 120 minutes for ECO wash is counterintuitive.
I'm not sure about whether it's possible to change. However, what does the ECO refer to exactly? If trying to save water, it doesn't matter if it's a longer cycle as it uses same amount of water just recycled and pumped around longer. It will probably use a bit more electricity though because it is operating longer. Is it any quieter? Perhaps it also pumps slower to make less noise so it needs to run longer to wash properly?
@@devhackmod Thanks for answering. ECO is described as optimum water and energy usage. Your answer makes sense. This unit is a little quieter than previous one.
I'm considering this dish drawer vs a Miele. I think I would like the loading flexibility, but I'm slightly worried because I cook a lot. I'm curious if you'd be able to post a video of a typical load of dishes for you in both dishwasher drawers?
I can tell you from experience that it doesn't hold as much as a regular dishwasher, so if you have a lot of dishes then it may be tougher to fit everything in. We have another regular dishwasher (Bosch SilencePlus 52 dBA) and it's fantastic, definitely worth comparing as well to Miele and Fisher & Paykel brands.
I have this same model. I consistently get A7 error in the top only . I’ve had five service calls they have replaced the electronic control because at first the error wouldn’t clear; replaced the the pump, the spray arm, shaved off a piece off of the spray arm all to no avail. The problem is that it will continually restart the wash cycle when that a seven air is on. Once it actually ran for a full eight hours.Do you consistently have any trouble with yours that’s similar? Any suggestions for me?
Thankfully no problems at all, both drawers have run fine (knock on wood) until now. What is the A7 error exactly? From what I Googled it says "Dishwasher has detected excess foam in the drawer". How does it detect this? Is it related to the water supply, detergent, a faulty sensor? If it keeps happening then the source of the issue has not been addressed... I would try to find out exactly what the machine is doing to determine the A7 error and work back from that. Maybe you don't have excess foam? Maybe you do?
Come across your video we are from YYZ too and is considering FP dishwasher drawer. What is your thoughts? Would you recommend it or back to traditional dw? Would you recommend tall or 50/50? It is such a niche item its so hard to find any review
So far so good. It is definitely a niche item and pricey. Works well and is fairly silent, pretty good room for most dishes even with 2 drawers. You have to watch that you don't block the "spinner" on the bottom of the drawer from turning when you load it, or put light plastic items that may get thrown and fall down between the rack and block the "spinner". Thankfully so far no problems, but for the same money you could go for a higher quality conventional dishwasher made by Bosch or Miele where you hope the money is definitely going towards quality/reliability and not just "niche".
@@devhackmod thank you so much. This is so helpful. I know what you mean by niche and can use the same $ for something that guarantees your dishes come out clean. Do you find you using only one washer often or both ? I am debating. It doesn’t make sense if i always have to use both washer but it seems like it be convenient for less dishes.
Our is stuck on flashing upper and lower draws F1 display and won't turn off and doors wont open at all we have turned it off at the power point and turned the water off.… how do we fix this please
How do I select both draws for a wash
Did you figure it out?
How do you run both drawers at the same time?
You just select the drawer with the first button and you input settings and hit start. The same 4-button controls are used but you need to select which drawer you are programming. You can run both together on whatever cycles you want.
Thank you for this video. We just replaced our old dishdrawers with a new set - installed it/them yesterday. Thank you for clearing up the abbreviated model codes; how would I have found that information? The user guide was mystery meat from the start, I kept waiting for the book to tell me what machine I have (DD*C, DD*A, DD*D, DD*I)-did you discover by trial and error? Huge improvements as compared to our old machine bought in 2008. Feeling stoked!!!
The Fisher and Paykel website has lots of manuals and you can look through the different models to try and figure out how they name the model numbers (W=white, B=black, AX=accessibility, CT=contemporary trim, etc)... I'm only guessing, I have no idea. LOL!
@@devhackmod Thank you! BTW; you from Montreal?

How to use both drawers together. How do I adjust the settings.
You can set each drawer separately. There is a button to alternate which drawer you are programming.
Turn on first drawer and then program second one
Good video, thank you! However it did not teach if I can set just one drawer to run and have the other one remain dry. I do not always have a full set to wash and want to just run one drawer.
Yes you can run one drawer at a time. It is like having 2 dishwashers, each of them is independent. The single control panel lets you pick which drawer you are setting, otherwise they are completely separate like having 2 smaller dishwashers.
What is happening when the bottom drawer has been selected but the display keeps flashing
Not sure, check the trouble-shooting codes here: producthelp.fisherpaykel.com/au/Clean/DishDrawer%E2%84%A2/Single/DD60SDFX9/User_Guide_DD60SDFX9/07_How_to_attend_to_a_fault
Thank you for your video. It was quite helpful. I just purchased the same model that you have. Could you help me with how to run both drawers at the same time please. Thanks
You can run both drawers, just press the drawer button and it will show you which is selected, then whatever you program with the other buttons only applies to that drawer and then you can start the cycle. Let me know if that helps!
I have the older model but the bottom dishwasher doesn’t work because I never used it
Any suggestions on how to fix it
What are the symptoms? Does it even power on? Does the display let you select the bottom drawer and activate it? Maybe if you haven't used it for a long time, some mechanical part is stuck. Could be the water pump (if it uses one) or a solenoid valve. I would guess that if you don't use something for a while and if it has come in contact with water, it may stick and you have to unjam it or replace it. I haven't opened these up but I would suspect a mechanical part. The place to start is seeing if the electronics can let you select the bottom drawer. Then follow the wires from the control panel/board to any mechanical parts like solenoids and see if they are getting triggered (voltage going to them). There may be sensors there also that tell the machine when to start or stop if there is a safety concern. Could even be something like a door sensor, so it thinks the door is open. Let me know how it goes.
@@devhackmod thank you so much
So, I found out the safety locks was locked.
I reset it.
Now when I turn it on, I hear a strange noise and water doesn’t flow to the bottom dishwasher and it doesn’t do anything.
Should I request for service person to come.
They charge $110 just to come out, but I don’t know what happens after that. It doesn’t make sense to end up paying $500 while I can buy the new one for $1500.
How can I address the issue with the service man?
Each dishwasher has its own display of on/ off and it works. Just when it wants to run the cycle, water doesn’t get to the unit!!!
@@shirinjahanian193 I wonder if there is a filter or solenoid valve that is supposed to open the water intake that is stuck or full of debri from the pipes. If you don't use these for a while maybe it got jammed in one position. The noise may be the valve trying to open, like a buzzing sound? How do you know water doesn't get in? You don't hear the water swishing noise?
@@devhackmod thank you for your reply,
There is bom bom sound and dishwasher stops without going through the cycle
It just stops
Great video, to clear it up, Paykel is pronounced “pie-kel”.
Thanks for letting me know... had no idea!
just tell me😢😢 how to cancel the selection 😳
You press and hold down the power button until everything shuts off (it's the button at the far left).
Great demo . . .Fischer & Paykel dont even have a demo service. Bad customer experience
Yes it's too bad. Fortunately the manuals are available online but for such an expensive "niche" product you'd think they'd produce a bunch of detailed videos.
Bbbbe
I don’t like my drawer dishwasher at all. A waste of money, difficult to load, doesn’t clean dishes properly. Thoroughly disappointed.
These dishwashers are better for certain applications but they are not necessarily a better dishwasher for most people. For example, some families have special needs to separate dishes for religious, medical or pet-related reasons and only have space for one dishwasher. So this is a way to have two dishwashers in the space of one. But it does limit space and they are pricey. They are NOT for everyone and that's why it seems like only one manufacturer makes it.
Dude, your install demo is lame, i wanted to see how to actually install not push buttons... boooo
Sorry, no install video! It simply hooks up to existing dishwasher lines, nothing special. There is a "Y-connector" because it has 2 drain hoses, that's the only difference. Otherwise inlet hoses for water same.
