Beautiful work Brian! I love the before and after pics at the end. The boot has so much more presence and has so much more authority with the addition of the double sole. Outstanding!
What a difference those new soles make for those boots. Excellent resole Brian, you always make it look so easy - the mark of a true craftsman. Keep up the great work.
When i look at a young man like you doing what you do and the way you do it . It gives me hope for humanity more young people like you please . And thank you i do so much enjoy all your videos .
Yes, I feel the same hope you do. Brian, as I was a child there was a boot maker in our street. I loved to watch him. Thank you to give me that feeling again.
I would definitely get my 1000 mile boots redone like this... They look thicker around the sole which makes them loo like a different boot. Brian you are a gifted soul ~~ thanks for the inspiration
My teenager does not understand craftsmanship, sorry to say. She was saying "I don't understand the whole concept. Why not just buy a new pair?" I am trying to explain it to her: when boot uppers are broken in and still intact, when only the sole is worn, when you want to.get the full value of the boot. Any other suggestions? She's 16, and values nothing, tbh. She's my niece and is visiting but it's a common ethic in her age group, the ones that live in the city, and have families that don't understand crafts. Your work is beautiful, Brian, and I appreciate your craft and excellent workmanship so much!
Well they most likely have been used to having to buy a new pair of shoes every year because they don't fit anymore. And also they aren't wearing styles like these that take abuse every week. The only way they will learn is to have them experience owning something like this first. Maybe check on ebay for some decently priced Chippewa or red wing boots for them as a birthday or Christmas present.
Just tell her she feels that way because she never owned anything worth keeping and repairing. I mean, most of the crap at the mall is disposable anyway. Unless you really feel that pride of ownership its not something you can understand. Also, have her look into Frye boots. They are top notch and have some cool Women's styles.
Yes, the leather sole has always been the only reason I have yet to invest in a 1000 Miler. But man, with that custom half sole stitched in, lookeeng goood! Great job, thanks!
I live in Los Angeles and have been NEEDING a resolve on my 1000 mile boot, but I’ve put off sending them out. I’m definitely bringing them to you dude.
I've had the 1000 Mile Evans with a Vibram sole in two Wisconsin winters so far and I've had a really good experience with them. I wouldn't wear them to go shoveling but I feel pretty confident walking the sidewalk.
Really classy and understated job, Brian. Made me really appreciate the 1000 milers than I already did. They're really well constructed! Would love to see something with your natural half soles soon. How's the truck coming along?
I really must know did you aquire all this from your grandpa or dad. Or what. That's a ton of old bookmaking machines and tools and techniques. Amazing man
Damn. I've got a pair of Wolverine 1000 mile Ramble from the Gentry collection that I've put off wearing because I didnt like the soles. Might have to send them your way for a vibram resole.
2 things I noticed, questions I have 1. Was that foam filler instead of cork I spotted for the footbed, very disappointing of Wolverine 2. Great work, but Why did you remove the welt rib? I have only seen that done on destroyed boots....
I just had my bedstu boots redone by a fantastic Cobler. Now I see why he charges what he does. Where are you located? Because this guy just closed his shop. I’m sure going to miss him.
Hi Brian love you work. Question, no matter the brand of boot I wear I always get some stitching coming out and destroying the boots. My current pair of Thorogoods which has triple stitching is coming out in several areas? Or do so just wear out all my boots? Lol. I apply LP conditioner every month or as needed so they don’t dry out.
Brian, I have a question about going from a full sole to a half sole. Does having a half sole make the boot overall height of the shoe shorter? In other words, if you took the same set of boots and one had a full sole and the other had a half sole, would they stand at different heights? Thanks in advance. I look forward to sending you my 1000 miles soon as soon. I sent a resole inquiry form in yesterday :)
if you add a halfsole to an allready existing full sole you'd also build up the heel to keep the balance, so the boot would actually be higher. Otherwise the height would be exactly the same if the soles are the same thickness. but usually the heel LOOKS taller with a halfsole because the missing substance of a full sole between midsole and heel would be addet to the heel stack.
Speaking only for myself, I find the 1000 mile boot line to be plenty roomy enough to squeeze in a separate insole (and a pretty thick one at that, I use the green Superfeet) with the arch support you need. My plantar fasciitis is an ever-present factor in what shoes or boots I buy, and if I can't either fit in or swap out insoles, the shoes or boots just don't get bought. No issue with these.
Nice job! I would definitely like this over the Gumlite's on my Chippewa Ellisons. So, what's the turnaround? (I know if I have to ask, I can't afford it)
Brian has hands and fingers of steel. He makes removing the soles and heel stacks look easy.
The 1000 Mile Boot looks much more balanced with a thicker outsole. Gotta love the denser welt stitch too.
Very clean job as usual, Brian !
These are very comfortable boots with the original sole thickness, and heel heights.
This makeover resembles the 1000 Mile Evans and Cap Toe lines.
What a great improvement. You just made the 1000 Mile boot a $1000 boot. :)
so addicting to watch a true craftsman. Thank you Brian so much for sharing your craft.
Man, I love those before and after shots! Great job once again!
Truly said
This is much better than the original sole. Awesome
I love the music, the simplicity of you working alone, sitting as opposed to standing. Great job
You are awesome. You are the new chill spot in my life. Watching your craft and care is mesmerizing.
Thanks
Beautiful work Brian!

Keep up the great work.
Great choice, solid leather mid-sole and the cork sole/heel top cap. Beautiful work.
Watching Brian work never gets old.
I'm not a boot person but a admirer of your craft. Thank you Brian. 🥰

Brian, I love your work. You are a man who values quality and your patient craftsmanship is most inspiring!

@@logansmith9437 Great idea. Thx.
@Brethor LOL I never put her down, I stated facts. She's a sweet kid, she just doesn't understand a lot of values.

@@ColoradoStreaming Thanks, that's really helpful. She will get it eventually, for sure. I will check out the Frye's idea.
If you look closely I believe you'll see the boot is smiling after Brian's makeover. Beautiful work!
You are very talented! What a great job you did on those boots. They look fantastic.
You are a true craftman.... Awesome work!!!
Yes, the leather sole has always been the only reason I have yet to invest in a 1000 Miler.
But man, with that custom half sole stitched in, lookeeng goood! Great job, thanks!
When you buy a good shoe or boot, you can get them resoled when the need arises.
When you do that you can get them done like these in this video.
You can buy them now with different kinds of soles. Leather , half soles and rugged direct from the factory
A much better boot!
Great job as always.
Beautiful work Brian. Keep it up and thanks for bringing us along!!
Wow that looks so much better. I have these boots & hate the factory sole on them. I may have to send ‘em across the country.
Beautiful craftsmanship. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Fantastic, you are a craftsman with passion, well done. I
My God your work is outstandingly beautiful. They’re too beautiful to wear outside.
Awesome job and awesome video my friend! Keep up the good work!
Я просто залипаю на твои видео! Прекрасная работа! Отличная профессия!
Всем бы так найти себя в жизни
As always - amazing work!
Very nice! I've got a used pair of W40093 Brown Suede 1000 mile boots with leather soles coming in and this might be the way to go, great job Brian..
Good looking job. Those boots look better than new.
Very nice!
Another job done well!!!
Cheers
Doc
I live in Los Angeles and have been NEEDING a resolve on my 1000 mile boot, but I’ve put off sending them out. I’m definitely bringing them to you dude.
Awesome work as always Brian!
These came out awesome! Solid work
Amazing craftsmanship
Brian your work is amazing, top shelf all the way
So satisfying and relaxing watching a skilled tradesmen.
Wow!!! It's beautiful. Thinking of getting a pair and have leather sole removed also.
Beautiful work.
Very nice! Well done sir!
Amazing work Brian! 1000miles are great boots. Soles are thin so some extra half soles are the way to go
Love them! You do incredible work Brian!
Another awesome boot makeover!
I find these types of videos do much better without music, the sound of you working is good enough.
that is the only thing that stopped me from buying a wolverine 1000 mile. leather soles in the winter time is DEADLY i need that hard rubber grip!
You actually need soft rubber for grip.
@@Tharification actually cold temperature hardens soft rubber. and if your soles were soft rubber the soles would wear out in about 2 months.
@@jeanclaude2794 That really depends on the compounds of the rubber.
I've had the 1000 Mile Evans with a Vibram sole in two Wisconsin winters so far and I've had a really good experience with them. I wouldn't wear them to go shoveling but I feel pretty confident walking the sidewalk.
Avoiding a shoe when the make a half-sole version also? That makes no sense
Nice job Brian! Better than original. They look really nice.
Great Job.
Amazing work.
I'd like the same done to a pair of 8 hole DrMarten Brown greasy.
Wooooow!!!! They look awesome!!!!
Great job, looks nicer than the original sole !
Great work Brian !! As always carnal !!! Much love ❤️
Fantastic job! better than the original.
Really classy and understated job, Brian. Made me really appreciate the 1000 milers than I already did. They're really well constructed! Would love to see something with your natural half soles soon. How's the truck coming along?
You do very good work .
its like a new boot great choice !
Absolutely beautiful.
What a difference 🙏
We need to make you a throne out of all the old steel shanks you've pulled out of boots over the years..
Excellent video God bless you and yours!!!
Nicely done.
I really must know did you aquire all this from your grandpa or dad. Or what. That's a ton of old bookmaking machines and tools and techniques. Amazing man
Золотые руки у тебя, брат!
For a pair of working boots like this a rubber sole is definitely the way to, but leather soles for more up market shoes just feel special imo
Really like the look of the new sole!
Hey Brian great job on the boots my man stay safe God bless
I thought 1000 mb's didn't have shanks, but that was clearly a shank. Did you replace it with a metal shank?
Damn. I've got a pair of Wolverine 1000 mile Ramble from the Gentry collection that I've put off wearing because I didnt like the soles.
Might have to send them your way for a vibram resole.
Great John better than new
I like the work you do been watching all your videos I have boots in need of a master boot make to work on them .
The sole on this is amazing. Never seen anything like it.
2 things I noticed, questions I have
1. Was that foam filler instead of cork I spotted for the footbed, very disappointing of Wolverine
2. Great work, but Why did you remove the welt rib? I have only seen that done on destroyed boots....
Brilliant man. Thank you.
Why do you use that yellow foam to put your stains on? Love your work! Also the work on your truck too! Can’t wait to see it finished.
I just had my bedstu boots redone by a fantastic Cobler. Now I see why he charges what he does. Where are you located? Because this guy just closed his shop. I’m sure going to miss him.
Another stellar job!!! Is it wrong to wish i had every pair you resole. 😉
Cool. Good work.
Great job, man!.
Awesome job !!
Nice work.
Now it's a 1000 mile boot. I have a pair, probably a 10 mile boot with leather sole.
amazing work.
So, awesome!
Killer job!!
Exactly what I am planning to have done.

Couple questions;
Can an arch support be added for those with higher arches?
Did you replace the shank on these?

How do you not feel the nails? I've always wondered
Really cool man.
Buen trabajo loco.

Danny C.
Amazing! Where are you located?
Great job,,
Brian, What is the best way to get in touch with you about my getting my boots resoled?
Wonderful work! Cost of this resole?
Shouldn't Cost more than 80 Pesos...??...
Nice job!
I would definitely like this over the Gumlite's on my Chippewa Ellisons.
So, what's the turnaround?
(I know if I have to ask, I can't afford it)
you are the best
Loved the video
Thanks for the video
