    Brian, i don't know how old you are but to watch you literally & figuratively grow from an ambitious young man to the man you have become today has been a great journey to witness. Your work ethic, attention to detail & sharing your love in the restoration of your truck has been awesome! Keep up the good work. Best wishes to your "teacher" & mentor. 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏

    Nice new look on these wedges. Love the addition of a leather midsole to them. And bedding the stitches into the midsole, so that the outsole can be replaced without tearing up the welt stitching. Nicely done young man.

    Great work displayed the only way he knows how. It's a joy to watch. He knows his stuff, he has been taught well. When someone really knows their job, it shows. Brian, you make it look so easy because you know your craft. I look forward to more videos whether it's your truck or boots being made or repaired.

    What a difference in the appearance of the boot from the before to the after product by just using the different color wedge soles.
    Makes me wish they would use a black wedge sole from the factory instead of the white/beige that stain too easily.
    A top quality job again Brian, keep up the good work and putting out the weekly videos, hope the truck project is coming along ok too!

    That's pretty cool him passing on the tool to you. It would be cool for you to pass in on in the future to one of your students. Your craft is one that should be passed down from generation to generation. As long as there are people in the world that can do what you do, things will always get done.

    Brian you always do great work. A master boot and shoemaker! Question : why are some boots or shoes are not well balanced and hurt my feet! I place soles on flat surface and I can see they have a play on either side front door or back heel ( they are not flat on surface) and when you take a step they press to one side visa versa! And that ends up hurting knees, feet etc.

    These wedge soles in black look way better than the white ones. Mainly for the darker boots. I have a pair of black Chippewa Bridgemans with the off white soles and I bet a dark brown or black wedge sole would make them better looking.

    Hey Brian I’ve watched several of your resole videos. I took my iron rangers into a local cobbler for a rocia outsole. I wanted a natural finish on the midsole leather but he dyed it dark without consulting me. Is there any way I can lighten the leather midsole back to natural?

    Hey Brian, I noticed you seem to always replace the welt when you resole a boot. Is this your choice or customer choice? I’m just curious why you never reuse the original welt like many shoe repair places do.

      But as always great job on the repair!

    • @NoOne-hd7nr
      @NoOne-hd7nr 2 роки тому

      If the welt is sewn into the sole it is replaced as it is here. Removing the sole cuts the threading of the welt.
      Damaging it.
      Adding a new welt. Sewn to the midsole NOT THE SOLE makes it easier to peel off the sole. Glue a new one. Done.
