I'm SO incredibly thankful to you for saving me from buying any of these! 3-4 coats is absolutely unacceptable at this point when we know that these shades can be done in 2 coat formulas.
I’m one of those crazy people that doesn’t mind at all to use a white base for a neon color. Especially if it really enhances the color. I think I would wear all of these! 😁🥰
This just seems consistent with my China Glaze experience. The only CG I will consider buying now are unique greens that have a good review. They chip so fast on me and I’ve had so many thin formulas.
@@naillacquertherapy And really, how many times have they done these colors. That’s what first attracted me to CG almost 10 years ago. All the brights.
I’m just really getting into nail polish in the last year. I’m realizing that winter and fall by far have the best colors and experimenting. I’m not sure why spring and summer struggle so much especially since more nails are showing. You’d thinks they’d create color palettes for a tanned up body, use the color wheel with a range of skin tones and give us some coordinating colors . Ones that will accentuate the brown and bronzes in the skin. It doesn’t have to be neon. These companies making color could be me purposeful of shades. Spring colors a tad more saturated is probably one are they might get but then add something to make them fun.
Thanks for your honest review Janixa! I ordered the Orly Breathable Sweet Retreat set because I liked those bright happy colors, and although they were still 3 coaters, the formula seemed better than these in the videos I’ve seen so hoping I like those. Have a Good Weekend!
Love your videos! Berry Yummy, the yellow color, gooseberries are in the yellow color range, depending on where they come from. Could have been the inspiration for the name of the polish. Thank you for being honest always and for all that you do!
Thank you for the swatches. I love the colors. I have more China Glaze than any other polish, so it's hard to pass. ...That's ok. The next collection should be better. My wallet appreciates the pass.
Thanks for the swatches. China Glaze is my favorite brand. They are capable of pure brilliance (e.g., Jurassic World and Dippin' Dots), so it's sad they've had so many dud collections the past 3 years.
Hi Janixa, I haven't been with you for that long but long enough to know you do love yellow polish! Do you ever do your favorites in colors! I love yellow too and do really appreciate your opinions! After all the years that I always had to put many coats on for opacity. I'm with you about no more than two coats! 😁 Thanks keep up the great work and polish on(💅🌹
Love Tan-Bur-Ine. Wish China Glaze would up their game and make their polishes two coaters because they have great colours but 3-4 coats is a lot to ask for us polish fanatics.
Glad the blue and deeper pink had a better formula than the others. Tan-Burr-Ine should have been the name for the orange polish. I love the blue and Tan-Burr-Ine most but overall they all are pretty. I don't do white as a base coat for any polishes because the base peeks through around the cuticles at some point. TFS!
I so appreciate your honesty! The performance of the total collection saddens me, as I know China Glaze can do better, even with jellies. At least the one I really want, Freezer Burn, is good! I love a good jelly or squishy polish, and thar blue would be unique in my collection.
Whoa, Frozen In Lime is fantastic. Is Cup Or Cone the same as the Out of the Box or Sugar Candy one, or is it another dupe of She's A Classic/Spin Me Round? I despised both of those; my kingdom for an actual bright true pink.
These remind me of neons from the early 2000s / late 2010s, kinda like the reallyyy old China Glaze Poolside Collection. I read somewhere a very long time ago that certain neon pigments aren’t approved by the FDA, which was the excuse brands like OPI and Zoya gave for not doing true opaque neons. I hope China glaze isn’t planning on going back to the old style of neon polishes that need a white base; especially since brands like color club and Orly (and indies) can give us 2 coat neons without a base. The spring collection for this year was so good and definitely had some brighter neon colors, (same with the Havana Nights Collection a couple years ago) so I’m not sure why they feel the need to fix something that isn’t broken.
Hi Janixa! Thank you for this! I know you like China Glaze and it was so nice that as always you gave your honest opinion. There's no way I'm doing 4 or even 3 coats of any polish and why should I have to start with a white base? Also, the names are all wrong haha. China Glaze has to do better! Thanks for the therapy 💅
The colors are beautiful but China Glaze has seemed to have duds/issues with collections (color story or formula) since Jurassic. I will be getting Freezer Burn but will have to pass on the rest. 😕
And thanks to one of the commenters below, I've now gone down the berry rabbithole on Google and discovered that, yes, bananas are berries. Good grief! I'm 70 years old and just finding this out? 🙄Pineapples are collections of berries. 🤔And there's more there, if you want to drive yourself crazy on a weekend! 😀
I don't understand what's happened to china glaze. They used to be my favorite mainstream brand. Now I've been disappointed with so many collections I've just about given up.
How sad. I was really looking forward to the yellow, orange, and green. I don’t even like doing 3 coats. If they’d added just a little more pigment, they’d be perfect
I agreed that the collection is disappointed. I don't know what is wrong with the China Glaze because the polishes have a thin formula instead of the thick formula. What China Glaze needs is to upgrade the brushes. This collection is different from last year collection. I need to passed on the summer collection. Nice swatches, Janixa.
Makes you wonder what has happened at China Glaze? Their color stories have been a disappointment- their formulas have changed. As a company they have drastically changed their philosophy. This is not the China Glaze of five years ago.
Ok sorry I thought you got sent stuff. Anyway it's a shame they weren't the best!! I presume the indie stuff you get sent though ? I really enjoy your channel 😊 love your accent it reminds me of a friend I use to know when i was living in the states x
I don't understand why China Glaze's formulations are so hit or miss. I picked up their Spring collection this year but I'm gonna pass on this one. There's indie brands that are more consistent than mainstream.
@@naillacquertherapy Absolutely! I will think of some right now. Yellow: That's Bananas, Orange: Dreamsicle, Pink: Berry Sweet, Green: Limeade Squeeze, Blue: Snowcone, Red: Very Cherry Slushie
Oh, China Glaze.. why are they so inconsistent?? It's like every other release was handed off to an inexperienced newbie staffer to do. At four coats, I thought the yellow actually looked nice on you -- it compliments your skintone. But 4 coats?? Nope!! Rather than a white basecoat, maybe using a similar color base would help these formulas out. But as you said, there's no excuse in 2023 for difficult formulas like this -- we should be able to get good coverage from these kinds of colors by now, without doing anything extra or different.
The colors do look prettier in the bottle. Not a fan of doing 3 to 4 coats. Such a shame China Glaze is able to showcase pretty colors but terrible formulas for the majority of this collection. My wallet thanks you😊
With previous commenters--you've saved me a bunch of time and money, because this collection is bordering on awful. What has happened to China Glaze, they were putting out great collections up until 12-18 months ago, then...Ugh. I haven't liked much of anything they've put out in a long time now, as if they've lost their mojo.
I'm SO incredibly thankful to you for saving me from buying any of these! 3-4 coats is absolutely unacceptable at this point when we know that these shades can be done in 2 coat formulas.

This is giving me Zoya Neon vibes. Uff. Thanks for taking the hit for us!
Lol those were so bad!
Ugh I love these colors! I was so excited to see them! what a huge bummer that they need so many coats! I don’t even like doing 3! 😅

Thank you for such an honest review. Love that blue, so bright! What color is the reddish?
It’s a darker pink to me.

Bananas are actually part of the berry family, I think China Glaze did some research on it.
