This week I’m finally cleaning out my mudroom and removing EVERYTHING from the closet (which hasn't been able to close in years). I'll figure out what can stay, what I'll sell and what has to GO! It felt so good to clear this closet out and take back my mudroom! I hated that this was always the first thing people saw when they walked into our home through the garage! I can't believe how much was stuffed in this closet!
Ya, I liked how it turned out. I LOVE purging and organizing! Also, I agree about the rugs too. I like the black rug. Maybe 2 more of those runners along both sides. FYI. I'm moving from SoCal to NW AZ. After renting for 29years a 642sq ft 1 bed condo (raising our 2 girls in it), we bought our first home (being built) and I'm overwhelmed with all the details. I'm purging as much as I can out of this condo and my husband likes to hold on to everything! Ugh....I get a lot of satisfacation and ideas from your selling, purging, organizing adventures. Love it! :)
Wow, wow, WOW!! So many coats. I own THREE coats + a denim jacket. I too live in a cold state, the PNW (Oregon) where it rains 7-8 months out of the year so one packable rain coat because I travel a lot, one heavier weight trench coat for rain+cold and one puffer coat. Also, I’m so glad you are donating some too. Plenty of coat drives for folks needing warmth and protection for the colder months ahead. I would get one giant rug to replace the two mis-matched rugs so it’s less to clean. I was so excited to see you close BOTH doors on that closet. Great work Ms. Lori. Sending Lumpy love!! 🐾🖤

Lori, I've been following for a while. I had a storage room that I was never able to clean out for over 15 years. I just started reselling about 4 months ago, and I'm enjoying it dearly. Thank you for your videos they have made a huge difference in my life!! Blessings to you and your family!!
I use wine bottles and pool noodles in my boots to keep them upright.

Junky closets make me itch!! My household was the same way growing up and J was always the weird kid cleaning out closets and organizing them until they were messed up again. Nice job. I love that Home Alone Lego house!
U could just pack your boots with paper or tissue to keep them upright in the short term it looks great ❤

Looks great, awesome job! Always enjoy your purge videos as it encourges me to do the same. For your boots (or shoes) pool noodles cut to size work great and if you want to cover up the pool noodle use the leg portion from a pair of old jeans.

You did an amazing job. Think about when you are done with all of these decluttering projects how you can go through and make things pretty how you would like. A thought that I did when I moved and decluttered a lot. I saved a little budget for new things to replace those that I no longer used. It was fun to have some pretty new (thrifted) items. I love how real you are making this. Not making it automatically look like a Pinterest project.
Thank you! I think about this all the time. We are getting ready to redo the floors. We just ordered a new couch too. I just couldn't even think of renovations until the clutter was gone. Still more work to do but we making progress! It must have been so rewarding for you to replace the old things with items you loved!!

My husband loves jackets and coats. I just reorganized our coat closet and put in shelves. His hunting clothing went to his room. (We each have a personal room)

Someone may have already suggested this, but pool noodles work great to keep boots upright. Loving these videos! Motivation!! And the Burberry trench and the black coat with the collar/hood look gorgeous!!

I laughed when you said your Birks will end up back on the floor because I'm the same way! I even bought a shoe rack to put by the door and somehow the shoes are on the floor all around it haha

Empty one liter soft drink bottles work great to keep boots upright.
I noticed the Ugg boots weren’t a match! Also, my daughter uses empty wine bottles to stand up in her boots. Maybe after Jay gets his red wine you’ll have bottle # 1!

It's the opposite in our house. My husband has 3 times as many jackets and coats.

Rub the zipper with Chap stick. It helps!

Amazing job! I decluttered my whole house a year ago and I found that I go back through closets more often now so it doesn’t get out of hand again. I had a misconception that once it was done it stays done but unfortunately stuff keeps coming in so it’s a process. But overall the house is so much better and easier to clean. I LOVE the home alone house! I’m glad you showed it at the end, I could see it peeking behind you while going through the coats.

Yeah I you did awesome I was like oh no about your UGG boots mismatched lol. Today I did lots of tee shirts and my sock drawer . I have too many tee shirts and socks . and I just orderd socks on Amazon oops . Yesterday I organized all my purses to sell and keep. I am leaving for Florida to visit my kids and 6 grand babies Wednesday for a two week trip for Thanksgiving so I am trying to clean, declutter and organize to help with my packing and my husbands sis or neighbor who will be taking out my fur baby Chloe and I didn't want anyone to judge me. Thank you Lori for starting this you truly are my inspiration

Lori, I thrifted a black Gallery coat with a lining for 1$ at my local Salvation Army a few years ago. I have worn it so much!! I love black coats, too!! ❤ hugs from Michigan!!

Living in Chicago, I'm guilty of owning multiple coats. One week we can have spring, later on in the day we can have fall weather. For Halloween this year it snowed. I'm keeping every one of my 20 coats!

So funny! Jay is the minimalist in this home so he is always willing to help if it means we are getting rid of stuff! I sometimes have to leave the house when he's decluttering b/c I get stressed at how quickly he goes through things!

It is the Home Alone set. My husband found a small company that sells lights/music to compliment certain sets. The lights MAKE IT! This was a labor of love for Jay.
