    The scarring is the hardest part I think. Like yeah I’ll go through this pain and perceived ugliness of a big juicy pimple, but then no, wait… I’m gonna remind you that I was here, I’m never gonna completely go away and I’m gonna make it even hard to love yourself. These things that make us human are frustrating, I swear.
    I have an old large scar that is officially 20 years old. I’ve had this scar longer than I’ve been an adult at this point. I can’t really do anything to cover it besides clothing but that’s not always possible, especially in the hot weather. It’s embarrassing and tells a story that I don’t want to share with the world.

    Every now and then I get reminders that Cassandra is such an angel. Like when she includes those who maybe doesn’t have money enough to go see an dermatologist or get a prescribed medication the regular way. And that’s one of the many reasons why I love this woman a little bit extra. That’s one of the reasons that she’s my favourite person on UA-cam.

    • @whitepaper5241
      @whitepaper5241 3 роки тому +7

      @@_sunchildd i used to incorporate them in my skincare routine a few months ago before i started using Adapalene and prescription-strength Azelaic Acid. If you want to use both, then use Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser in the morning and AHA/BHA at night. If you use a Benzoyl Peroxide leave-on, which can be super irritating, then use it at night, and use BHA in the morning - i don't recommend using AHA in the morning because it makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight.

    What I really like about Cassandra is when she suggest products that are inexpensive, and that most of the time works even better than expensive brands.. Also, I was discouraged watching vloggers in the past who talks about skin care routine because of how expensive their products are and sometimes they use sponsored products for their content. Unlike Cassandra who explains the science behind it and have a very strong stand with the products that she likes and don’t like (no matter who endorses it).
    I really feel that she wants to share her knowledge to her fans and other people who might need it. I got into skin care because of her ♥️ I just saw her video randomly on Facebook and I knew she was the one.
    Thanks Cassandra for your videos! This particular one is one of my fave 💜💜💜

      Hi, I feel your struggle that’s why I wanted to chime in. I’m 22 and have had hormonal acne the second I started having my periods due to PCOS. I have tried diane 35, aldactone, antibiotics, etc. While oral antibiotics worked, it was never a long-term cure for me. I did my research and started my tretinoin journey (0.05) 4 months ago. I use it with benzoyl peroxide now that my skin is used to it but let me tell you it was the best decision I’ve made in regards to my skin. The first 3 months are tough as the tretinoin purge is a real bitch but it is so worth it. I recommend checking the tretinoin subreddit on reddit, they put together an in-depth document that has all the info you need.

The only thing I have found that works is laser treatments. i finally finished a year long “treatment” (if you will) that was a mix of IPL to help tame everything and then micro needling with PRP. But I don’t know if what I’m doing is right. It just seems to be right… now..? I have done laser resurfacing to help with scars but basically… my face is a mess. ANY help is appreciated. i think first try it every 2 days or so, don't skip spf and see how well your skin tolerates it.
      for people who consistently need to keep things under control on their whole face or a large part of it, it could be more beneficial to use it every night or every other night, whereas for someone who has only flares-up at certain areas or few spots here and there, or for someone who does not tolerate bha's well, using it as a spot treatment only when there is a problem without irritating the clear areas of the face could be wiser.
      and please don't buy several actives at once, try one for a few weeks and then if it doesn't work change it, or add another one for another problem, etc. just adding this because you said i'll try the ordinary and the paula's bha. I think only buying one of them at a time will save you money and you'll be sure what works and what doesn't for you. finally, if you think it really is related to your period coming, common actives may not work (or not in the long term) and the best bet is seeing a derm before irritating your skin with random stuff, bc hormonal acne is usually treated with prescription actives, like Spironolactone, which works wonders for hormonal acne sufferers. sorry if I over-explained myself and if you already know these, I just wanna make sure I'm clear because I burned my skin several times when I followed "use this!" kind of brief advice from people.

      I get those too! The scars take months to go away :(
      I use to get a lot on my jawline, but now I get maybe two. I started using jojoba oil and tea tree oil at night. For my entire face i cleanse it with micellar water, and use Ordinary niacinamide, after that dries I put jojoba oil on my entire face, and use tea tree oil on the big cysts by the morning its not as big .. doesnt go away completely over night but it makes a difference. I dont even have to pop them anymore because i know within two days it'll go away.

    Recently (3 years ago) I found out that I have an immune system disorder that results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism) that's called Graves' disease. Since theroid hormones affect many body systems and I usually have cysts (not many) on my face, I think this is another reason that causes acne. But I cannot be sure if I don't visit a dermatologist. I'm just supposing that this is the cause and I wonder why not people (that know) are not mention this as an important factor of hormonal acne.
    p.s. I really admire you girl!

I balled my eyes out watching you react to your own video from 10 years ago and the way your insecurities reflected on your physical behavior and speach. I couldnt relate more. Thank you so much for everything your doing. Found out every product i was using was just making it worse. Is inflamed white heads the same as white small bumps underneath the skin? I have both. Some just stay under my skin, making my skin appear a bit uneven and sometimes they break out. It’s not a massive problem for me, but it is really annoying that they keep coming back. Would something like beta hydroxy acid work for those?

      Could be closed comedones aka clogged or congested pores… I had like ten of those, & they turn into these huge inflamed angry under the skin pimples when I try to squeeze them out, so I stopped trying to remove them. I believe certain acids can get them out, but I’m still trying the aha/bha peel to see if it can get them out. I read online that it might be necessary to see a professional to remove/extract them manually. You might also want to try to identify any products that you’re using that could be contributing to clogging your pores as well.
