Joel is an author, entrepreneur and speaker who went from having only 87 cents in his bank account to creating multiple successful businesses - often using the various forms of new media as avenues towards the greater goal of success. He is the New York Times best-selling author of 12 books, including “The AdSense Code,” “Click Here to Order: Stories from the World’s Most Successful Entrepreneurs,” “KaChing: How to Run an Online Business that Pays and Pays” and “Twitter Power 2.0.” Joel hosted and produced the world’s first competitive Internet reality show, “The Next Internet Millionaire.” He also created a #1 best-selling iPhone application which became one of the most talked about novelty iPhone apps of all time.

Social Medias, the triumph of the private over the collective. With all due respect, revealing our deepest selves to a digital audience hungry for smalltalk material doesn't make us better human beings, at most it saves us the shrink bill. In an age where the individual has conquered the collective everyone is falling short of human bonds. They deal with this broadcasting their lifes over the internet hoping to find some connection along this process. Maybe I'm an old crank, but I think this kind of 'sharing' won't lead them to any good.
Rafael B.P. you misunderstood. I'm not suggesting we share our current issues with the general public. On the contrary. But after we have dealt with our "stuff", sharing our experiences with others in social can help people experiencing similar issues.
