Yeah WW2 was really good for trying to recrapture the old appeal and feel of the og franchise. The problem is that the “immersion” aspect was heavily lacking in most aspects. Because the gore, horror, and violence of “World at War”was a trademark reason why the game was so impacting, the decision to clean up and minimize some of those aspects to appeal to the market ultimately caused a lot of frustration for fans. What should have been a better world at war instead became “modernized” world at war. The guns were relatively well made and there was a lot of variety. The loot box mechanic for a lot of gear was a huge letdown though.
What I liked most about WWII Zombies is that it was actually pretty scary and intense at times. It gets hate because the community had too much pride in tradition. I applaud Sledgehammer for attempting something different. I love Infinite Warfare Zombies too.
Tbf apart from Vanguard because everyone agrees that they're bad and they really have a lot of hate, both IW and WW2 zombies are pretty appreciated and valued by the community, even being their favorite zombies for some people. In my case I love Treyarch zombies more than any other, but Zombies In Spaceland is one of my favorites map of all time.
This was the first cod I played opening night. Servers were shut down, and all you could play was zombies. I remember having so much fun in a discord call and discovering all the jump scares. One of my favorite memories
I played bo 2 zombies but had no friends to play it with , when ww2 came out i made some friends online and i beated every map and every challenge . I even got the game platinum . Best memories i ever had .
Yes Frozen Dawn is legitimately in my top 5 maps of all zombies. Yes Grösten Haus is the smallest official CoD zombies map, even smaller than Nacht. Nacht is something like W-26ft x L-30ft and Grösten Haus is W-14ft x L-24ft (idk the conversion sizes). The PaPd 'De Isle' is the best weapon in the game- and there's a consumable you can use to get it 1st hit of the mystery box.
I appreciated the attempt at more horror with this game. I’m so glad you chose to do this game. Thank you. It really has brought back good memories from years ago.
Bro this is the best COD zombies video I've ever seen, Easter eggs, lore videos all included this is sick. The way you play and describe the lore while you're actually playing when relevant stuff comes up makes it super immersive
As someone who has obtained every single character in zombies, this game is severely underrated in my opinion. They've introduced so many cool things such as the base map having two versions of the easter egg, one being an easier guided version, allowing new players to do the easter egg without relying on a UA-cam tutorial, and the harder version which has additional steps and is not guided by the game. They also have a huge list of characters (even though some of them are just reskins of others, but they improved on this and started making original characters for the shadowed throne and beyond). The challenges required to obtain each character range from easy to extremely difficult (like beating the shadowed throne easter egg in under 33 minutes, beating the brenner in groesten haus (which only spawns at wave 50!), and beating the darkest shore easter egg while spending a collective 20k points or less. People seem to hate it because of how buggy the game is and it lacking in the audio department, which I do agree with. But the cons are worth nothing in comparison to how much fun I had with the game. If you're considering getting the game, I highly recommend it! Also, if you're on PC, feel free to add me on Steam and we can play some WW2 zombies together!
One of my favorite additions was how pack a punch worked, many weapons were given unique abilities tied to the weapon like as seen in the video silent scream, the way melee was handled was perhaps the best of any title with every execution kill giving a reward, the many challenges you could do for bonus characters, the build crafting, and also the very deep story and lore are absolutely amazing. I think I speak for many when I say Vanguard should’ve gone down the WW2 route for zombies
This zombie was the natural evolution of the blacops zombies. Had a little bit of past into it and a lot of new mechanic, really underrated, but new players have shitty tastes...
CoD WW2's armor system for zombies was such an underrated mechanic if you were good at zombies. Not getting hit meant you'd be rewarded by never having to buy armor to begin with. However I'll still admit the prices of armor got truly ridiculous. Seeing your one friend being bad at zombies and having to spend a whopping 30k on armor after 7 downs always cracked me up.
The Darkest Shore was the hardest one for me, it was so hard I actually asked for advice on Reddit after dying 3 times in a row to the boss fight, but it’s still my favorite WW2 map because I love the Meuchler design and mechanics.
To clear up the confusion with the intro cutscene and the final Reich, I'm pretty sure the intro tutorial mission for zombies is set right after the cutscene and then you go into Final Reich
dude ww2 had a really good zombies story and maps, it was all very gore-y and hard but also pretty scary! the atmosphere felt like the older Treyarch zombies except way more gore and grotesque zombies
I have been watching Samuel for a few months now and I find his videos helpful and entertaining, they have also re-ignited my love for zombies games. He is an absolute legend in the making. Thank you Samuel
What I love about the WW2 zombies is that they actually came from Nazi's expirements like a bioweapon which makes it more scary and realistic compare to Aether dimension. Anyways I like both.
I liked how the zombis actually reacted to getting shot. Even on high rounds you can shoot just a bullet to make it stumble to get by and not get hit. Unlike the original zombie where they don't even notice getting shot and just truck right through it all till they die.
After being a Treyarch fan since BO2, who initially dismissed WW2 & IW zombies.... I gotta say i'm having more fun with these iterations just based on the gameplay alone. They don't have chatacters that are as compelling as Treyarchs or the specific map vibes, but it's just so fun! Glad to be back into zombies. Great video!
I have massive respect for people like you that can high round & complete Easter Eggs solo. I've been playing COD: Zombies games for 6 years and have yet to complete an EE solo (except for Fly Trap on The Giant, BO3)
I loved ww2 zombies so dang much. Also I get so happy when you upload. I always come back to your videos for entertainment. Thank you for all of the entertainment and keep up the amazing work, you really are one of the few zombies content creators that I genuinely look forward to seeing upload
I appreciate you finding the fun in all of these games. Even if everyone doesnt enjoy them its still interesting to see videos on them. Excited for the future round 100's on these maps :)
I had a great time watching this video! I really loved cod WWII and didn't have the opportunity to get the other maps. This game is an all-time underrated game.
the graphics and art style of the zombies in this game is slept on, i didnt play it that much myself but when looking back at these videos it looks so good...
Man I absolutely loved this game, the zombies was so much fun for me, I never actually played all of the maps because I wasn't able to finish the Nertha statue part of the Darkest Shore easter egg, the one time I did I died trying to get the spines, but watching this is really making me want to go play the game again. I'll definitely have to give it another shot, and I was very surprised to know that WWII zombies was underrated, I'm glad I'm one that thoroughly enjoyed the two easter eggs on the first map (also props for wave 50 on Groesten Haus, I couldn't even get to wave 20 for the achievement).
I am happy you think the game is under appreciated because honestly I rarely see praise for this mode, and I think it deserves praise. Great video as always
I really liked WWII zombies. the changes and additions distinguished it from Treyarch's zombies without feeling like they were tacked on. it truly branched out on it's own from the regular cod zombies and was a refreshing and enjoyable experience.
I love the pap in ww2 zombies, its not just uprgading the weapons power and mag size, it made them have special things on some of the guns. And the simplicity of it made it super replayable for me, not every game needs to be super detailed or super in depth. Simple games where you get to shoot things the classic way is a super nice change. People also say its bad because of micro tansactions but you never needed to buy the crates because they were super easy and and not annoying to do. Cod ww2 as a whole is super under rated, its super fun to play horde point with is hardpoint with hordes of theses zombies.
Hey Sam, great video as always. You should try the hardcore version of the Easter Eggs. A bit more detailed and fun but not too crazy hard or anything. Edit: nvm just heard you talk on this. It’s not too complex especially considering your other feats, and if you decide to try it sick, if not no worries.
The Final Reich is one of if not my favourite zombies map clashing only SoE, and the darkest shore has some of my favourite zombies memories with just hard camping in pack a punch with 4 players.
I genuinely feel like if this video would have been released at the time of WW2 release this zombies game would have done a whole lot better. I think that people’s perception of games have a great deal to do with what favourite youtubers / influencers say about it, even if it’s just subconsciously. I hated WW2 zombies at the time but watching this makes me want to give it the chance it clearly deserves
Yeah when I did darkest shore, it pretty much solidified my hate for ww2 zombies. I ended up having such bad luck getting a charged spine from the wuschlers.
I always love how positive this guy is. I have enjoyed every zombies experience I have ever played. I have even enjoyed every cod multiplayer and campaign. I do have ones I consider to be better and I do have some I consider to be pretty decent. However every zombies has unique stuff that makes it enjoyable. Especially WW2 zombies and honestly if they spent more time working on the games feel I think it would have done way better. Its a good zombies experience especially since it has a cool story that you properly play through rather than how trayarch has done the story.
I didnt play WW2 zombies all that much, but i still have good memories from the times i did play it. I went to my friends house when the game released cuz he bought it and we played split screen, made the room pitched black, and it was genuinely scary playing it lmao. The atmosphere was super eerie and the jumpscares got us good when we first encountered it. It was a blast.
If ww2 zombies was a bit more polished I feel like it would be a a tier zombie game the story is actually good. the atmosphere of the maps are cool, the guns and good and the zombies look pretty cool too. And some of the guns have pretty unique abilities when packed
It might not be a masterpiece but it looks so scary out of any zombies cod games and it has way alot of gore which is so cool the story is confusing but good characters i love WW2 zombies
I recently 'obtained' COD WW2 on pc, with all DLC included (I never played the DLC's). The Final Reich felt soooo good to play again (except for the over-used 'jump scares'). The DLC was alright (I only played the first 2 before I lost interest).
Funny this was recommended to me as I literally just an hour ago beat the hardcore easter egg on The Final Reich. This was the first COD game I ever got and still has to this day; my dad got it for me along with my first ever console the Xbox One X when it and the game came out. Kid me played the first map for hours to the point where today I know the mechanics of the game so well I can go to a part of the map and guess what type of zombie will spawn at any given moment. I adore this zombies mode and is my favorite zombie survival game made I've played to date. Yes, it is the only one, and I've heard COD BO II is supposedly the best one, so I'll try it one day. But it's hard to imagine anything will beat out this one for me. As a kid the graphics were insane to me, the most realistic game I played to date aside from Batman Arkham Knight. The game terrified me for a couple nights from how realistic the gore was on the zombies. Specifically the loading screen with the bomber zombie that you get whenever you load up a match in The Final Reich. This game also started my love for the WWII Era of History, such an interesting time. My childhood TV show was Doctor Who and my favorite Doctor was David Tennant, so to discover after a few rounds that he was a playable character in the game blew my mind and still makes me warm and happy to this day. This is a comfort game to me and will always be special.
finally actually understanding the story of wwii, thank you!!! i remember somewhat enjoying the final reich, but i instead opted to play multiplayer after the darkest shore
The only thing that bothered me was the amount of sub-boss zombies that would spawn too often. Also those max ammo round zombies fly noise would always bug out for me and stay for the entire playthrough.
Honestly I've only played Final Reich, Grosten Hous, and Darkest Shore, and while it has it's moments it falls short for me since I mainly play casually going for as high as a round I can. But I did love it's world building and aesthetics.
People seem to forget this game exists in the zombies lore. I dont know if its canon or even has relevence in the timeline but i loved this game. It was so casual, and the zombies was very easy for beginners due to the guide it gave you. Not as fun as figuring it all out, but lets be real, none of us figured it out on our own. We wait for mr rofl waffles to make a video on the easter eggs
Fair play to Samuel for actually giving these games a fair shot. I can understand why some people don't like non-Treyarch zombies, but I feel like most people that jump on the hate train haven't actually played them. For me, Final Reich was a great map, rivaling much of Treyarch's work. It had finally brought the aspect of horror back to COD zombies. It had an easy and a harder Easter egg, so that even new players could get into the idea of doing them. And it gave us the ability to pass points between players, a feature that still hasn't caught on, sadly. I also appreciate that in WW2 zombies, the story was actually really easy to follow along. Wasn't groundbreaking or anything, but it was nice to know what was actually going on, as opposed to BO3 and BO4. The game mode also gave us challenges, like doing the EE without perks and other similar things, adding longevity to the mode. Sledgehammer didn't do perfect, but I'd say they did a pretty good job.
You know that there’s only a certain amount of preset morose codes on the Shadowed Throne? There’s only roughly 8 possible codes so you can just brute force it and have the axe by round 6.
I actually liked WWII, it felt like a nice blend between casual and hardcore
I have some personal nostalgia with WW2 because it was one of my first call of duty games if I don't count the mobile games.
WWII was fun to play, but the lootdrops was a massive flop.
@@tf2engii my second ever, I remember being scared shitless by the jump scares as a 10 year old. Good times.

About to install ww2 now. Good having you back Samuel
Ww2 zombies is what got me into zombies, heavily underrated imo
The only thing that bothered me was the amount of sub-boss zombies that would spawn too often. Also those max ammo round zombies fly noise would always bug out for me and stay for the entire playthrough.
Honestly I've only played Final Reich, Grosten Hous, and Darkest Shore, and while it has it's moments it falls short for me since I mainly play casually going for as high as a round I can. But I did love it's world building and aesthetics.
hope you are doing alright Samuel welcome back!
Love your channel and so happy your uploading again, love you man I hope you doing alright
Loved this version of zombies it was the scariest one to date and had great lvl designs
I really liked these videos because I've only played black ops 1 and cold war zombies. Gives me insight into a whole different world
One thing I rlly like about WWII zombies is that u could drop points like that in itself is a rlly good mechanic
these were very horror-forward and i appreciated the attempt to switch it up. it was cinematically impressive as well
People seem to forget this game exists in the zombies lore.
W Video , keep the good work up ❤
You know that there’s only a certain amount of preset morose codes on the Shadowed Throne? There’s only roughly 8 possible codes so you can just brute force it and have the axe by round 6.
