As a person diagnosed with both anxiety and depression, I totally get what you're saying. Thanks for this video, it's nice to be reminded sometimes abt. all the good stuff that journaling brings into my life.
Loved this video and never really thought about anxiety as temporary thoughts. I was diagnosed when I was 12 and I been on meds since. Depression, anxiety, and panic disorder. The saddest part is I passed this on to my children. I’m 50 now and though I gotten used to this way of life, some days are still hard. I actually think from being in lockdown so long, I have a harder time going out. Like I get an anxiety attack in while driving. Thank you for this video, you have not only inspired me but changed they way I think about things. Big 🤗 Hugs! ❤️🦋
I agree with everything you said! About 4 years ago my life was spinning out of control. Everything seemed so depressing. For some reason I started to scrapbook. Asked for a cannon selphy for my birthday that year and document weekly spreads with my children. When I look back in those books you really realize there is something good in everyday!! It forces you to see its not all bad! This past year, in addition to scrapbooking" I started a creative daily journal after stumbling on videos by you and Elizabeth and AJ. That has been somewhat of a therapy for me! Not the family but a way for me to get my everything out! I am super grateful to have found this time of journaling and your channel! You helped me through a difficult time and I believe I will journal forever! Thanks for all you do and for being you. I certainly smile with each video you create! Be well and stay safe. ~Michelle
Love love love your pages, fab as always!! Thanks you for being so open and talking about your mental health. I'm sorry to hear of the struggles you have had and I'm so glad that journaling really helps. I totally agree with you, it's such a therapy, I notice a different within my worry and overthinking when I don't get chance to journal. I also totally agree with the buzzword 'anxity', it's became very overused. However I feel I really struggled to admit i have anxiety as I didn't want to be one 'these people'. it took my brother to be pretty blunt with me and make me see how it dose take over my life. Love your voice over, your just so fab!! Thanks again!! X
Enjoyed this video too. I personally know about anxiety and panic attacks, not fun at all! I never really thought about writing in my journal and CBT but you are right. I have to watch myself about writing “gloomy” things or it gets the spiraling thoughts going. Thank you for your honesty and sharing.
Hi Holly, thanks for this video. You pretty much summed up perfectly why and how Journaling is helpful for our mental health... Totally up my alley ❤️ I sometimes have a struggle with "not wanting to waste the good paper to write about a completely waste of - - - -" but like you said too, it's possible to put it in an envelope or even tear up after writing... But the writing down helps a lot. My last envelope had a lovely collection of expletives on the cover and I kept this journal entry because by now it makes me smile to have vented so properly ☺️ It often makes me get irritated when anxiety or depression are used so..."randomly" (that's not the right word, dang). Especially when it creates expectations like people with anxiety or depression "just need a bubble bath to get over it"... At least I think it's connected.... But let me finish by wishing you a lovely evening before I rant on until midnight 😂😂😂❤️🌻❤️
Yep, exactly!!! I know exactly what you mean - it's when the words are just used blasé when what they're going through is a totally normal feeling or reaction! 😆 Happy you enjoyed sweetie pie 💫💓 (However, will just say, bloody love a bubble bath, i'm sat in one right now 🤣🤣🤣🤣)
@@journalwithdolly of coooouuurse a bubble bath is a wonderful thing. But you understand what I wanted to say... I actually poured a crap ton of my finest sarcasm on someone lately who came at me with this "get over it and do yoga attitude" (nothing wrong about yoga either but ya know) which was weirdly effective for the moment 😂 Have a lovely evening ❤️❤️❤️
Really loved watching your process for your beautiful journal pages and so interesting to hear your thoughts on mental health! I definitely notice I journal more when I am feeling low and in one my depressive/anxious phases. I've recently started daily journaling again to try and help calm my thoughts and I'm finding it very therapeutic! Off to check out more of your lovely videos now too 😍
What a great video! I had never heard “thoughts are not facts, they are only temporary.” Will be a good mantra. Ran out of anxiety med this week, at one point thought I was going to have to go to hospital. I will write down my notes from your video in my my journal today, that will be part of the good of today. Very helpful! But what the heck is a pop/pork scratchings at the pub? Lol. 🤣😂🤣I love your accent ❤️ we have fried pork rinds that are like crunchy chips in a bag. They come in a hot flavor that is extra good with beer. 🍺🍺🍺
Pork rinds ARE pork scratchings! They're the same thing 😁 Pleased my video helped you! Yes, thoughts are not facts - it's your mind making you feel like that, not factual things! 🤗🤗xxx
