Thinking, writing and talking about death is healthy. Pretending it doesn't exist is denying reality. You have been honest and brave. Congratulations!!! ❤

I love your book. I also use my altered comp book as a way to work through my mental health stuff too. I call mine more of a glue book because I'm a pretty visual person. If I do write in mine I usually cover it with washi tape lol. It helps.

I do the exact same thing with the composition book and the not messing up thing! Composition books truly are the best.
Did you know if you peel from the edge of the composition book and take off the top layer of black and white splotches you can draw on it underneath? It’s super cool or you could tear it in half and it looks nice ripped up there’s a lot you can do with it.
I absolutely loved this video 🩷🩷🩷

Thank you for feeling safe enough to share your experiences with you journal. I had a TBI and have PTSD and acute anxiety at times along with brain fog periodically. I find art journaling helps tremendously, and yes, I have pages where I was in the dungeon, too. It helps to get it out and on a page and on other days I just say "Wow, you were in a dark place and it passed". I am glad you have a good support system.

Thank you for the thoughtful comment! I'm glad to say I'm doing much better with my mental health currently, and making this journal helped get me through it. It's good to have this skill available when I do eventually go through another low period. I'm glad art journaling is helpful for you too!

I really like that your art is done with materials that we also can easily access. The style is something nearly anyone can do. It's not as encouraging to watch channels with people who have art that could be sold because it's not about self-expression for mental wellness, IMO.

Thank you!! That's a really good point. Back when I was doing this journal I was really not in the right headspace to make nice quality drawings, and it really did help me a lot to just scribble everywhere. It was nice not to worry about how it looked and instead just get my feelings out. I think art journaling is something everyone should feel encouraged to do even if they don't have fancy supplies, since it's so helpful for mental health and documenting life experiences. :D
