Hi Rida, VAWA takes several years to be fully approved. However you will most likely get a prima facie determinnation (semi approval) within a few months of applying. You may be eligible for a work permit during the waiting period as well! The Approval of your I-485 will follow shortly after your VAWA is approved

You can file for VAWA after Divorce. However you may have a greater burden of proof depending on what caused the divorce.
