I love that they fully utilized the Mandarin as an enemy type instead of a semi- dangerous obstacle. The segment in the hotel basement was nerve-wracking, I felt like I was actually being hunted by a malignant creature
The way they improved the monsters' details in this remake made me realize that overt body horror was rarely a big part of Masahiro Ito's creature design philosophy. If you look closely, many of the monsters have some sort of cloth, tarp, or layer of skin covering them - especially the parts where you might expect to see deformed flesh, or in a way that _implies_ such. And the parts which are exposed are almost always recognizably human, but either diseased-looking, or placed in _exactly_ the wrong place and/or with _exactly_ the wrong proportions. Sakura Head from Ascension actually has this exact same design scheme (which I realized just yesterday at the time of writing). The only difference is that Sakura Head doesn't have the same grimy look as Ito's usual monster designs, which makes it look as if she sports less body horror than the previous monsters actually had. This kinda makes me appreciate the creature design more. It makes them look less like typical horror game monsters, and more like twisted, miserable pieces of modern art, given life by Silent Hill specifically to mock you. EDIT: Calm the fuck down, people. I wasn't making comparisons between the OG and the remake. I was talking about the monster art style being easier to appreciate thanks to the improved detail.

My main coplain about remake is that there are just 3 monsters all game + mandarin in last portion. It is by far not enough, SH3 and SH1 too had great bestiary. Why not borrow some beasts from there and add new monsters + few extra boss fights. I think SH2 had really weak bestiary compared to most games. Yes, those 3 monsters are reworked and perfect, fights with them feel different and you may need different tactics but just 3 types? Really :( All in all remake is still 9/10, if they would manage to at least double bestiary I would give it 10/10.

Yeah, like Gears of War, like Fallout, like CoD, like PUBG, like Fortnite, like BioShock, like Red dead Red. 1 and 2, like Metroid, like freaking GTA, right? Fcking play the game, the combat is not the main point, you can even just be running avoiding all enemies
Tell me you were born after 2001 without telling me you were born after 2001

Why Pyramid head go away?
he is very eepy, he must slumber in the water
Running from his guilt because he’s a monster manifested from Jame. The pyramid head leaves James once they heard the ambulance sound (possibly indicating Maria’s death).
All Evil Within 1 & 2 games bosses are still the best! SH2 Remake bosses meh outcome ya 🤷🏻♂️
Evil Within was inspired by Silent Hill
My main coplain about remake is that there are just 3 monsters all game + mandarin in last portion. It is by far not enough, SH3 and SH1 too had great bestiary. Why not borrow some beasts from there and add new monsters + few extra boss fights. I think SH2 had really weak bestiary compared to most games. Yes, those 3 monsters are reworked and perfect, fights with them feel different and you may need different tactics but just 3 types? Really :( All in all remake is still 9/10, if they would manage to at least double bestiary I would give it 10/10.
Why would they add monsters from other SH games without even having any connection to James' trauma/guilt? It doesn't make sense.
@@shortbear9798 I dont care about lore or james trauma. I just want better and more fun gameplay :)
@@AlexrigaA valid opinion. I would love to see SH 4 and origins beasts man, that would be amazing.
@@Alexriga We can tell. Glad you weren't consulted for the remake.
I only gonna buy this silent hill 2 remake just for the nurses having fitnes here. Ugh fine collection of sexy silent hill nurse design couch silent hill homecoming uses the thicc skin like nurses design from the movie in video game format was cool. Not sure if I like silent hill 2 remake pyramid head rain broken coat helmet with a garbage bag on the back which is a reference to the brain hanging out in other media but the original silent hill 2 didn't have that sht.
Are you mentally challenged or something?

Resident evil remake🐧
I wish they had more enemies. Few enemies were too repetitive. Looks like i should wait for discount not worthy for 70usd. Sh2r's story so boring to me and too slow paced. Idk if the original one was boring and the gameplay really reminded me of resident evil 2 remake. Tgose hypes were all opinions i guess. The horror games are no longer scary cause it's getting corny in 2024 unlike early 2000s.
Well, they shouldn't do it in the first place
Each monster is important, so if they added more would mess with the lore and stuff
Then why are you here complaining about how the game was made like I don't get it you don't like it then get out you don't need stay here to criticize how the game was made from the start.
the og had the same amount of monsters, and i haven't seen too much of the newer story, but it follows the same beats as the original, the combat is really close to the og, bonk enemies with stick only now with dodge mechanics. i'd say the game looks really good tbh, i'd say it's a lot scarier when you're playing it vs watching it.
are you 5 years old mentally?

Silent Fart 2
Wow that was really lame
Game sucks
who said angela is ugly now?
Me is look bad and ugly
Me..kind of. She is not "ugly" at all, but looks kind of cartoonish and unnatural for me. The VA behind the Char is very cute, they just didn't capture it very good imo. Same with Maria. Somethings a bit off. But love the Voice acting from all of them.
@@murderycatdoll1380tbh the only one that really stands out and not in a good way is Maria. It’s not that she did bad but the original is just that good that’s impossible to do better even if you tried. James va is amazing tho
Pyramid Heads twitching is so unnerving
