In the remake when you do this and find the note at the end of the road, you’ll hear bodies hitting the ground and find two mannequins lying in the middle of the road.
Seems to me that this sort of implies the loop theory, given the multiple other references to it in the remake wirh Maria getting Deja Vu at certain points like she knows what's about to happen. I imagine Silent Hill is changing with every loop. Small things like different encounters and destroyed puzzles. Its interesting to note how much more blatant it is now that we have a closer camera that we can see all the corpses in SH2 being James because it might be that those are him from previous loops, leaving notes behind to warn himself in the case that he forgets at the start of every loop. The puzzles though are interesting in that it's either SH that is changing it every loop or perhaps a past James destroyed them out of frustration/anger? Perhaps all of this is the towns way of punishing James for refusing to learn the lesson. After all given loop theory, its potentially possible that he's completed all endings in the original game other than leave. I think the smaller detail that adds to the whole SH is getting sick of James' BS is how Pyramid Head in the first cutscene he's in more directly looks at James in the closet and seems more restless/pissed off. Just straight up tanking and no selling the gunshots.
