In this particular instance the issue was being caused by the starter motor cable having some corrosion. The bike would not always kick the starter motor over.
When I did a bypass connecting a small wire to the starter relay, it began to spark so bad. I don’t think that’s supposed to happen. Now I think my starter has gone bad because it’s throwing a short.
Nope mine sparks when my starter was good. Hopefully not your starter. My starter wire was rusty and not making a good connection so I used some sand paper and it was all good again.
depending on the year of the bike I would say that would be the case as alot of the codes are universal between all yamaha bikes. From memory 12 is fixed by just riding the bike down the road for an extended length of time. The error is to do with the ABS sensor detecting the rear as spinning but not the front so that is to idenfity fault with ABS sensor.
When you say not starting you mean turning over but not firing? Is it not starting from the code or the starter not working
