I have golf pride mcc +4 midsize on my driver and standard on everything else- I’d rather have them on everything but they don’t need changing and they’re expensive. I uses a medium/large glove so probably should use midsize on everything. If anyone can recommend a cheap good grip it would be appreciated
Jumbomax ultralite small on wedges, irons and woods, and large on driver, also largest 5.0 max grip on putter.. You barely feel like you need to even grip the clubs... absolutely marvelous .
The VERY BEST grips ever made, changed my Hdcp from a 16.5 to a 12 in a single summer!! Confidence, feel, tacky, forgiving and the one ultra unique feature unlike most other grips... It has a built in alignment! The game changing grip for me is the Golf Pride CPX Midsize! Top to bottom 13 clubs have this. The consistancy and confidence is unmatched. (side note, I had them installed upside down or Golf Pride logo down for even better alignment and greater upper hand tactile.)
If you wear a Small Man's Glove & you use a MidSized Grip, then you can guarantee, as my experience has taught me, that 80% of men are using a grip that is too small. I play a MIdsized +4 Align & I've let many a fellow range rat try my clubs, & literally every single person has then gone out & bought these grips because they just feel better in their hands than Standard Sized grips. Mid Sized +4 should be the starting point for most men (my opinion)
Had multi compund midsize and just bought some jumbomax tour xsmall grip 🤩🤩 Now im feeling like i have a baseball bat and hitting bombs with all my fairways I bought some standard jumbomax tour to put in my wedges too Cant wait to try them out😎 And the feeling of missing a shot and not hurting your hands/wrist/fingers is sooooo sooo worth it everyone trust me
Just had all mine regripped with CPX midsize. Super sticky, and found I can let my hands relax more. Far better than the previous mix of MC’s and Lamkin Crossline’s
@@BigDawgCAM I swapped back to a standard size GP Tour Velvet. Why? Because the midsize grips, though nice feeling, messed up the swing weights of my clubs. I struggled to feel where the head of the club was and that lead to more inconsistencies. I couldn’t believe how, just swapping out the grips could have such an effect. I’ve since watched a few fitters on UA-cam cover this subject in some detail. Before you pull the trigger I’d suggest just getting say your 7i done and see how it feels and plays.
This is the best explanation I've heard on grips! Just about to do my irons for the new season, I think the old TaylorMade grips were a little thin, so I'll talk to my club pro about adding a wrap or two of tape to the new ones. I like the feel of Golf Pride MCs, which was standard on my M5 fairway.
I actually use the jumbo max xl ul grips but I also wear a xxl glove. I honestly get scared everytime I try to do a fitting since most places don't have the grips I use and feel comfortable with. So the real question is if the grip is that important then why don't we use it for fittings?
On my new set I am building, I got my first 2 clubs, a ZX4 MK2 4i, and a zx5 mk2 6. Both are midsize. Always played regular, midsize nothing extra has been wonderful. Still keepin my wedges regular size. Gonna be changing my driver to midsize too
Wilson ultra comp with Wilson grips. TaylorMade 60°, TaylorMade grip. Cleveland RTX 588 50°, Lamkin grip. RAM Tom Watson pro custom (70's) 3iron, Tour Pride grip. They all feel the same, width wise. Haven't given much thought to this. As long as they grip and feel right, it's ok.
I've had standard golf pride align on my irons. Bought a second hand wedge with a midsize grip and it feels so much more comfortable. I wear a large glove, so I think I'll be re-gripping all my clubs to midsize.
I used Karma grips. Mid size. These are on my woods and hybrids. Larkin cross lines on my new Tour Edge irons. Those are regular, but I would replace them with mid sized grips when worn.
I use an XL leather glove. I have 3 sets of clubs, yes 3! Lol One set has (I regripped them): Golf Pride MCC +4 mid-size, I have discovered I really like these grips. One set has SuperStroke X Comfort mid-size. I have found issues with these. The last set I haven't been able to get out with yet - Ben Hogan Edge EX irons. All of these have Lamkin Z5 mid-size grips. Mid-size seems to work well for me. I have used Oversize grips, and I liked them also.
I wear a medium glove occasionally I have hand pain just put a medium golf pride on driver and 7 iron to test feels strange but I’m going to give them a try… good info thx
I use the Winn Tec Over size LT gripes. 3 tapes plus 3 to the front to parallel. I have XL hand size or size 10 builders gloves. I check my grip size my glove size close and 5mm gap tops. I find my accuracy spot on too with these grips. I use the additional tape and cushion grips due use an indoor simulator 2-3 times week trying to avoid impact injuries commonly found hitting mats.
Golf Pride CP2 wrap (standard) on every club. (Except putter). Regripped them all last season. Even put on 3 new clubs that had other grips. Love the consistency through the bag.
I have smaller hands, but I like the feel of the midsize. I've tested some clubs with that. The irons feel like they are twisting in my hands. The woods feel great!
Great information. Now I know how to get the correct grips on my clubs. Yes, a lot of information, but very important information. I really appreciate your videos!
Thx for the info, love your videos. If I can ask your advice please ? I have a weak left hand and struggle to close grip, as I fell when i do, it puts a lot of pressure on my forarms and I always have tennis elbow, I think, becasue of this. I currently use the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 0.58 core size, but can you recommend a smaller one, so I can try please, mayeb a 0.56 or 0.54 ? Thx again.
Such a good topic to bring up as I am more of "feel" player. Interesting to me reading the comments is that there are so many using the JumboMax grips and having positive feedback. I've been tempted. Does the extra size effect the club's swing weight in a way to make the club feel too light? It's impossible to demo clubs with different grips during a fitting to find what's the best for that setup. I think head, shaft, swing weight and grip. Trial and error...
"Ultralite" is about the same weight or less as anything you get from golfpride etc, "Tour" is a bit heavier. You could just do what I did and get a couple of grips in the right size, put them on some old clubs and try them out.
I put jumbo grips on my driver and rescue wood 2 years ago and love them. BTW I did to stop my slice and now I hit left, left. Not sure why you said most would not be able to turn hands and slice more with these grips. I love them, they work for me, after watching your vid I’m scared if I go back to medium I’d really be hitting left.
I would wear a XL cadet glove if I wore gloves so I have jumbo Max Large on my clubs, but one big reason to this is my work. I spend hours swinging an wooden handled ax or pickaxe and they have big handles. I can't swing a standard grip club. Swing something with a big grip, I hand to switch and when I found jumbo Max it was literal game changer on straighter shots. Though I have the gap between my fingers and soft part of my hand, it still made a huge difference!
Oversize WInn tour wraps here. Tried the Golf Pride version of the same style but hated the fact they choose to plaster their logo on the end (closest to the shaft) and thats right where my thumb rests. The feel of it gets in my head and I think about that more than the shot I want to hit.
You should really try the JumboMax grips. They have a try it and return it if you don't like it going on right now too. I used the Oversized Winn's and the switch to JumboMax Smalls was well worth the money. Way better and longer lasting grip!
I wear small/medium size gloves. Longest finger is 3 inches. Palm is 4.5 inches long and 3.25 inches wide. Only jumbo size grips prevent my finger touching the palm. I agree totally with this video.
Cant even get my hand into a drijoy XXL glove. Using Jumbomax Xl wraps on woods and st8 xl wraps on my irons. My fingers are slightly open on the regu;lar upper hand and touching on the st8. Lot of hand issues and chronic tennis and golfers elbow are eased by these grips.
Titleist Small Cadet glove + Golf Pride MCC PLUS4 Undersize. I have short fingers. Small hands could have long fingers too so you cannot base on glove size only.
Interesting that you go midsized grips. I use a small glove as well and was fitted for standard grip. I like the feel of midsize though when I hold one. Do you do any tape wraps under the lower hand? I've heard can help us mid-high handicappers as well..
I use oversize grips and believe most golfers would benefit using larger grips, My hands are smaller and I use a large glove, I have trouble regriping the club on my back swing, The larger grips allow me to release the club in the down swiñg easier and feel in mor control of the club
I was fit for -3/64 grips outside of Merion golf club, but I wear cadet large gloves. I have meaty hands. I do not feel comfortable with midsize grips in my hand. Standard grips I can't hold in my fingers without a gap, probably due to the meat in my fingers, but I use them. I suffer from slicing my driver a lot. I am wondering if I should use undersized grips. I have used very undersized grips before, but they made my golf club feel a little too whippy in the past as I load the club quite a bit. So I'm not sure what to do. I'm tempted to go back to undersize on my driver and keep everything else standard.
you mentioned the arthritis thing. That's what we did with my wife. We got her oversized with the extra cushion. The same ones I use since it was easier on her hands as she has carpal tunnel. Good video!
Interesting. I'm one of those people with some arthritis. Additionally, I broke a bone in my hand two years ago and can't close the pinky on my non-glove hand all the way. I'm currently using Winn oversized Dri-Tac 2.0 grips. I do have some issues maintaining control of the club face so may end up getting them replaced with a slightly smaller grip but hopefully the same brand and model (I like the feel).
What if mate , say for example me , l play golf pride MCC plus 4’s because of my hands but still have a fade and sometimes a big fade what would you suggest
I really think i need midsize grips, i wear a large glove, and my finger always hurt after golfing and i know i dont have a to tight of grip i have a coach, and even my coach said midsize could be better for me but im just scared to spend the money and not enjoy midsize on all my clubs.. i put a midsize on my 3 wood to test and love it but still skeptical for all clubs idk why? Should i just make the switch?
Had a lot of experience with grips in my short time in golf. Experimented with standard, adding wraps, using a +4, a midsize, and an oversize grip. Ended up with the Jumbomax UltraLite M's. I have a lot of control of the face rotation, I'm able to put less pressure on the grip since I'm putting the grip on my palm now opposed to my fingers, which also distributes for force around the hands and I'm able to swing it faster. There are cons to newer players that I did see, e.g it seems like if you don't have enough body rotation its basically just going to be a shank, which might also be a good thing since it forces you to turn your body. A big part for me is that I was always injuring my wrist, forearm and back when i used a standard grip. Ever since I've changed to jumbomaxs all of those seem to go away, and im nearing to around a year now with these grips. I see a lot of people trying bigger grips for a couple of days and switching back to std when they say it doesnt work for them, well honestly it takes a long time to get used to (atleast for me). It took me around a month of constantly going to the range and practicing. Would like to hear stories about other people as well and their experiences with grips
I agree with this entirely. So I am using the Jumbo Max Grips, and I used to play with a slice/fade my entire time of playing. Since going to the Jumbo Max, I no longer slice. I believe that this is due to better face control and less flipping due not having as active hands. So the theory is correct - But don't be scared to give it a try. And my hand size is small. It has also helped my Tennis Elbow due to less pressure.
My fingers hurt when I used standard and midsize. Then I went to a MCC 4+ jumbo and it felt great. Now I just buy a tour velvet jumbo and build up on the tapered side and it feel just as good. Grip is everything.
Just ordered new irons with mid size grips and +2 wraps at my PXG fitting. They never fit me for grips tho. I wear XL glove. Hopefully they are big enough. I been playing tiny grips for 20 years tho so should be better.
How do you wear a small glove size and use a midsize grip? Not joking, I’m literally curious here. I wear a Cadet XL/Regular Large glove and I had to switch out of the midsize grips. I wasn’t able to square the face at impact.
I was using Golf Pride CP2 Wrap (Jumbo) with 4 tape layers. I recently switched to JumboMax JMX Ultralight Str8 Tech XS with no extra wraps on my irons. Love the new feel. My woods are Srt8 Tech XL Tour.
I wear medium to medium large gloves depending on the quality and material. And llahong standard plus 4's. I definitely feel like a wristy player and have to fight hooks in my game. Think ive just found out why 😂
*What grips are you using RIGHT NOW?*
Golf Pride MCC+4 Midsize and it is great
Winn DriTac Wrap mid size copper. Putter, Super Stoke 2.0 Legacy
Lamkin crossline 360 +3 wraps

White tour wrap midsize golf pride and a leather small glove my glove is always a small even though I am size M/L but like it tight 👍👌🏌♂️
Switched to MCC mid +4 last year and was the best change I have made in a long time.

I have MCC mid +4 on my clubs. Switched today actually and I love them.
I’ve watched other grip videos and hour’s was actually short and to the point! Love your videos!
Just had all mine regripped with CPX midsize. Super sticky, and found I can let my hands relax more. Far better than the previous mix of MC’s and Lamkin Crossline’s
How are they doing now?! I'm thinking about switching to CPX midsize myself because I've got some sweaty XL hands

Lamkin Crossline Midsize.

Granted I have a neuropathy and I am losing sensation in my hands

I was using Golf Pride CP2 Wrap (Jumbo) with 4 tape layers. I recently switched to JumboMax JMX Ultralight Str8 Tech XS with no extra wraps on my irons. Love the new feel.
My woods are Srt8 Tech XL Tour.

I wear medium to medium large gloves depending on the quality and material. And llahong standard plus 4's. I definitely feel like a wristy player and have to fight hooks in my game. Think ive just found out why 😂
