  • All good things must come to an end and this is the last time Martin and Lewis appeared together on the Colgate Comedy Hour. The first sketch is a great send off. Jerry plays a Japanese detective in the Inspector Clouseau Mould. Completely politically incorrect to our eyes - but remember we were at war with Japan only 10 years before this was filmed... absolutely hilarious... Part 4

During the last song they struggle to look each other in the eye like we always did before. It hurts. They were about to break up. They brought in people who divided them. Jerry said it ... his mistakes aside but they had to leave them alone. Instead there are those who managed to divide them. Together they were wonderful. But Jerry was a beautiful and sexy genius.

I notice that in the end credits the art director is listed as Bill Martin. Was that Deans brother, or is the name just a coincidence? I don’t know whether Bill went by the surname Martin, or whether he kept the original family name of Crocetti, but I believe he was the manager of Deans restaurant ‘Dino’s’ in later years, so maybe he also worked for Dean earlier in his career as well.

He kept the surname Crocetti. He was initially Dean's manager but soon ALL that passed to Mack Gray.

Jerry was getting more handsome at this point. They were indeed a pair with great chemistry!

to be honest i find Dean Martin better than Jerry. Jerry's jokes are.... how shall i say.....poor. While Dean Martin seems to be the real talent here: voice, presence, acting, jokes

Oh sure. After all Jerry Lewis was ONLY: actor, comedian, director, producer, screenwriter, writer, singer, dancer, conductor, drummer. A 1977 Nobel Peace Prize nomination for his work for the MDA Telethon. More handsome and sexy than Dean Martin. 179 of IQ.
But obviously for you Americans he was a failure.
