Hey I'm here .... im also from indiana . Sending you positive thoughts. Having this phobia is awful. I had to take something today for heartburn and it freaked me out but I did it and so proud of myself. Be strong!!!
Girl I know what your saying. You posted this 3 months ago & I bet you did great on the antibiotic. Today 6-June-20 Sat I got to take a second high blood pressure medication. I'm taking it today because my Husband is off on weekends so he will be here with me. God sent me an Angel to marry. Pray I can handle this medicine. God Bless You Always!
I have color and I’m so terrified of taking the antibiotics and my follow up appointment is three days from now and I don’t know what to say to my doctor on why I didn’t take them when I got them and idk what to do
If it makes you feel any better. i AM allergic to clyndamycin and my throat didn't even close I broke out in hives over time and it burned all the way down my throat. I could breathe the whole time it didn't seriously harm me. I just had to stop taking it.
I have the same exact fear! It's always a fear of an allergic reaction and anaphylaxis. What's hard for me, is that once I take it, I start paying attention to every sensation in my body, which adds to my anxiety even more. If I feel the need to scratch my elbow, my brain starts telling me "this could be the start of a deathly reaction." I didn't have this phobia until I started taking Macrobid for a UTI and suffered unbearable complications. Here I am, with another UTI wondering if I should take my antibiotics.
@,MARIAM HAMEED Thanks for watching . I'm so sorry you're dealing with this fear. Its horrible. It's crazy how you mentioned macrobid. I just started it yesterday for a UTI and just like you said I'm paying attention to every symptom. I had to force myself to take it because I've left UTI'S untreated and they turned into kidney infections which is way worse. Hope you get the courage to start your meds. I'm here if you need to chat. Good luck!
@@phobiagirl5099 Thank you! I will say, people seem to do well with Macrobid. I did not have any symptoms until a week after I finished the full dose. Just keep an eye out. @Mariam I've taken macrobid years ago before my fear started and I tolerated it well. Funny how we all react to meds differently. Bactrim is my next fave for UTI. You can do it!!! Let me know if you got the courage to do it.
phobia girl I just took it about 30 min ago! Woo! For me, the side effects were delayed. I would say about 7-10 days after I finished the full regimen, my legs got very cramped, sore and started tingling. The pain built up over two weeks - it felt as if I had gone on a long hike! It turned out to be a temporary small fiber neuropathy. The cramps went away, and then I developed a small fiber neuropathy. The neuropathy only lasted two months, and got better with each week. Exercise helped. The other major side effect I had was respiratory muscle weakness. I felt like I couldn’t inhale and exhale as deeply as I normally would’ve. Around a few weeks into that feeling, I also developed costochondritis. It feels similar to a heart attack, but it’s purely an inflammatory condition that causes chest pain. It resolved within a month for me. Don’t let these things scare you - I’m part of the few unlucky % of people who developed these side effects, and they weren’t permanent. Although, I couldn’t work and it was scary that doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with me through tests! Mind you, before all this happened I was a healthy 25-year old. Just bad luck for me!

So helpful. Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching

I got prescribed a med for my anxiety and I’m terrified to take it. I was supposed to start it months ago. Lol 😆 so silly that I have anxiety over my anxiety med. 😅😅
@Mikayla Lynn which med? Have you started yet lol?
I have to take my medicines for 6 months but I can't
I am literally crying
I can be cured with these antibiotics only
I dunno what to do now😭
Sorry you're having a difficult time. Is their someone you can be around when you take them? I always find that helpful for me.
I even hqve an anxiety from using supplements. i bought many of them and haven't used most of them yet. I have vitamin c/d and magnesium, zinc and im still afraid using them because i fear side effects and if it will affect me badly
Thanks for watching. Yes I also have a fear of supplements. I hope we can conquer all of this someday
I just literally forced myself to take a magnesium supplement I've had for almost a year 😩 fear is so crippling!
@@phobiagirl5099 thank you so much for these tips! praying and telling myself it will be okay is what helped me take my supplement.. may we all be cured of this debilitating fear!
Omg. I've done tip #4 time the reaction of taking the med. I'm also afraid of flights so every 30 minutes I have to put my alarm and if I make it every 30 minutes that's one step closer to home.
That's great to hear. You can do it!!!
I’m afraid of taking triple therapy antibiotics for my h pylori and it’s driving me crazy cause I’m so scared to have an allergic reaction or severe side effects 😩 I’m drive myself to the hospital and see if that helps me while taking the first dose
@Justin this fear is a beast. I totally understand the fear. Please keep me posted . Good luck!!! Remember think positive 😊

N than after I take I'm nervous for hours it's such crap to be this way. I like the things you said take with a friend or call a friend . Or sit in front of er if your that anxious. Listen to the side effects!!! How can you not be afraid
Its Dibilitating my kids think im nuts also sitting with infected gums,i have taken this antibiotics before cant seem to take it and im feeling quite ill from this infection
I'm on cymbalta and I'm scared to increase my meds. I'm afraid of side effects
@mindyjohnson can you increase the dose on a day someone is with you? Maybe that will ease some of the anxiety
@@phobiagirl5099 I talked with my doctor he advised me to increase. So I increased it about 2 hrs ago now. I'm still scared of bad side effects but I know God is in control
@mindyjohnson staying positive is great!!! 😁
I have fear of medicine when i tok i face with painic attack
Me too i fear of med allergy reaction. M affried to take meds
if the person is a fraud why would you list what they might be afraid of ???
I have this condition as well. I’m really scared of the amoxicillin they gave me for my sinus infection and it’s been 3 months. I’m very scared. I already tried 2 other antibiotics that didn’t work. Can you give me some advice on dealing with the anxiety please
I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I also start a new antibiotic today and I'm terrified but I know I have to take it because I'm sick. I think the thing I find that helps me a little is taking the med while I'm with someone so that I'm not alone and more scared. 2nd thing is telling myself that nothing bad will happen. Please let me know how it goes. Good luck!!
phobia girl I hope you are doing well with your antibiotics. My doctor changed it to Cefprozil I hope it still makes it go away. I’m taking it at my parents house and my girlfriend is here and I’m trying to do what you said telling myself nothing bad will happen. Please let me know anything else that I can do. I have some Klonopin from doctor but I heard benzos can lower my immune system. Trying to make it without it.
@Kenneth Wilburn. I took my 1st dose this morning but almost had a panic attack about it but I wasnt alone so that helped. So happy you took yours. Proud of you! I dont know anything about the benzos affecting immune system but hey if you took the meds without benzos then you should definitely be proud of yourself. Keep your brain distracted as soon as you take the meds. Listen to music, do a hobby etc. Keep me posted on your progress. Good luck!
phobia girl phobia girl I took my first dose last night I took almost half of the dose just to test how I would react since I was terrified. I just took my first full dose 3 hours ago. I am just trying to do what you said telling myself nothing bad will happen. I have 6 days left with 2 doses a day. I’m proud of you too! It does help when someone is around I agree. Do you think it is bad to look at video games with a sinus infection a lot and tv. And also do you think I should space it out like take one dose 12 hours apart from the next since I need 2 a day. Thank you. Praying for both of us
Well I'm not a medical professional so I obviously cant tell you what to do as far as medication dosage. Try to relax and get your mind off of your fears is the best advice I can give you. You'll be fine😀
I need to take amira-p help me out😔😔..to control my anxiety..i am scared of crying out loudly save me this medicine is gonna kill me..help me out
@lovejeet
Did you take it yet? Try and take deep breaths. Is someone with you so you'll have someone to talk to. Remember...most of the time we psych are brains to think the worst when in all reality everything will be ok
@@phobiagirl5099 yes i took half of the tablet in morning...nothing bad happened..but after 6 hours i was scared n i started crying that i will cause some side effect..
@@phobiagirl5099my mother is sitting with me and motivating me to take the medicine
@lovejeet glad shes with you. I'm happy to hear nothing happened with the half a tablet. Well if you experience side effects that you dont like talk to the dr about it and maybe he can switch meds. Please keep me posted on your journey
