My life with Occipital Neuralgia
Переглядів 3945 років тому
Just wanted to talk about my life experience with Occipital neuralgia. I want to bring awareness about this awful condition.
Honestly just knowing I'm not the only one, has taken Away most of the anxiety. It goes to show, most of our fears get amplified by the dread of being alone in our fears.
@moeso4384 agree!!! Thanks so much for watching!!
I didnt know how many people suffer with this type of phobia! So glad I am not alone. Ive been considering all your tips ans tricka even before watchinf this video. I find them a good way to start with. Being around people etc. my phobia started with my first panic attack 13 yrs ago. Since then I cant take any medicine because Im too scared to get into similar state like I was during the attack. Now ive been prescriben medicine for high blood pressure and I refused it. Watching all the good videos like youra help a bit but I know nothing will help me. This is a serious issue. Thank u for this video though. Much appreciate your openess.
Oh no... I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. Please don't give up hope. Stay positive!!! Hoping you will one day be able to overcome this fear. Baby steps is all we can do.
I'm currently finding out I have pharmacophobia. And on top of that. My tooth is killing me indeed to go to the dentist....I'm having so much anxiety.
I'm so sorry to hear that you're struggling with teeth issues and anxiety. Try and keep positive thoughts is the biggest advice I can give you. Good luck. You can do this!!
Hello Clara here! Wonderful to see you again and a really big thank you for making this video. I'm EXACTLY like you I can't be upstairs even if I think it's going to storm I sit in my chair often all night I wear head phones with loud music and an eye mask made by MINDFOLD total darkness even with your eyes open I wouldn't be without it. Interesting that ssris lowered this awful phobia I'm going to look into that. If I were you I'd go back on them unless you can't take them for good I don't know? Anyway I hope to see you again God bless 💖 and YES this is a big help to not feel so alone 🙏
Glad you watched my video. Sorry it took forever to make one. Be strong and let's conquer this!!
I am extreme phobia too about medicines, local anesthesia after had extreme episode on dentist all about health condition. I suffer a lot from panic disorder depression. My life paralyzed I have no the strength to face anything. I couldn't found any one like me and to overcome my situation. I am thankful for your videos .I apologize about my English. 🙏🏼
I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles. Taking baby steps is what we have to do sometimes. Don't push ourselves!! Good luck and thanks for watching

Thank you!
i have a huge fear of hard drugs from bad past experiences. I'm scared of drugs being in any and everything and it's been this way for years now i really need help from anyone. i'm only 18 and it's making it so hard for me to just live a normal life. HELP NEEDED
Its Dibilitating my kids think im nuts also sitting with infected gums,i have taken this antibiotics before cant seem to take it and im feeling quite ill from this infection
I have the same but more than that my hair is falling
Listen to the side effects!!! How can you not be afraid
its not even that the medication will hurt me at this point, im more than certain it won't. it's just the fact that the second it's in my system theres absolutely nothing i can do about it. i had this same fear with food for three months, because i was scared whatever i'd eat would harm me, but i reassured myself that i can just throw the food back up, but with medicine though.. throw it up or not, it's in your system and will stay there, and i'll be helpless if i feel like i need it out. id be trapped.
It's so sad and scary 😩 I can relate.. get some activated charcoal capsules to take if you're ever afraid you're having a bad reaction to something.. it's used in emergency rooms.. I keep that and Benadryl on hand when starting new pills - even vitamin supplements.. it's a shame I have so much fear now considering how I used to down a gazillion pills without even thinking years ago! SMH 🙏🏽
I’m always searching Google for the side effects. And I keep reading the directions over and over again for 2 hours. A week will go by before I finally take it. With 911 on speed dial. just in case.😂
I have fear of medicine when i tok i face with painic attack
Funny fact i am a doctor and I have pharmacophobia 😂❤ so to anyone who is reading, you are not alone 🎐
Well, at least you would be empathetic to patients who tell you of their fear of taking meds you prescribe them lol..
Yeah yeah you are right, specially when they suffer from panic attacks...
I feel this way too😭 it's hard for me to even take my vitamins because I just get so scared of a reaction and dying or something. It sucks because I need these vitamins or else I get really tired and stuff. I haven't taken meds for anything in YEARS
@FrankiesDollz it's a horrible thing to deal with , I know. Hoping one day you will overcome your fears.
I saw your video looking up occipital neuralgia. For some reason i couldn't reply to that video so I'm replying to this one. I have not been diagnosed but feel like ihave this. My life has completely changed over the past 5 years it's been a nightmare. Thank you for your video.
Oh I'm so sorry about your ON. It has been my life miserable so I truly understand. Have you found a dr that has helped you yet?
I am crying g in pain with bursidis I was perceived Flexrcil muscle relaxer and I am litterly terified.. my husband gets so upset with me. My thing is once I swallow it I have no control I can't turn back. It makes me feel better to know others struggle with this. I hate this disorder. I see family members that take a handful of meds and don't think twice
I have to take my medicines for 6 months but I can't I am literally crying I can be cured with these antibiotics only I dunno what to do now😭
Sorry you're having a difficult time. Is their someone you can be around when you take them? I always find that helpful for me.
I got prescribed a med for my anxiety and I’m terrified to take it. I was supposed to start it months ago. Lol 😆 so silly that I have anxiety over my anxiety med. 😅😅
@Mikayla Lynn which med? Have you started yet lol?
Hi phobia girl I'm here in August 2022 I have to take a antibiotic n I'm sitting here n my mind is saying be scared be scared I hate that . N than after I take I'm nervous for hours it's such crap to be this way. I like the things you said take with a friend or call a friend . Or sit in front of er if your that anxious. I did not no this was a phobia . Wow thanks for video
@spiritual Aries. Did you take the med? Hopefully you're doing ok
Have done them all plus have Benadryl on hand.
Wow, I have gone to the hospital’s parking lot, and taken the medication there… and i waited 1 hour… unbelievable. Thank you for making this video.
@Moni it's comforting knowing we aren't alone. Thanks for watching
No, we are not alone. That’s relieving in some way 🥰
I'm going to have my biopsy on Tuesday. After my second EMG is when my neurology specialist had said it was SFPN when it came back normal and I've gotten labs done
Thanks for sharing! Have to do this in a few weeks. I now have a better idea of the procedure
Tim Forney. It's pretty easy. Good luck!!
I feel like I'm going through this but it's different. I am now scared to take a medication that I've taking for years. Also, this all started because I accidentally ate weed edible a year ago and it was the worst experience of my life. About a week ago, someone delivered food and it tasted like weed (maybe they were smoking around it). Every since then I've been scared to take my actual pain medication.
JayVoni Solomon so sorry you had a bad experience. Sucks that sometimes all it takes is one bad experience to make our brains scared forever. Maybe everyday that you've taken your normal medication say out loud NOTHING BAD HAPPENED AND IM OK AND WILL BE OK TOMORROW. Training our brains to believe in something is a huge part in all of this; pf course my experience. Not a professional but I feel it's helped me
@phobia girl Thank you so much for this reply. I will try your suggestions. And also thank you for understanding. This whole experience has had me feeling like I was crazy and I really felt no one would understand.
@JayVoni SOLOMON you're not crazy. We aren't perfect and we all have our flaws. Some people are scared of spiders and we are just afraid of meds lol. I just used an eye med an hour ago. I was scared as heck but I jumped in and used it because the more we think of something the worse it makes it for us. Stay strong and keep me posted. Good luck!
Thank you for posting this I needed help
Omg I am the same way I won’t take anything
I have the same. Phobia
What are your symptoms of small fiber neuropathy? thanks
I have burning, tingling, pins and needle feeling. Muscle aches as well. Some people also experience numbness
Congratulations I'm proud of you! Would you make a video about other phobias I have a terrifying phobia of thunder and lightning nothing I try has helped. Thank you. So nice to see you again 👏💖
Ciara that's interesting you say that because my 1st phobia years ago was about lighting and thunder. I'll make one in the future just for you :)
@@phobiagirl5099 Was it! Yes please make a video about your experiences with thunder and lightning phobia and how you think you got it because I didn't know where mine has come from. Thanks so much I'm sure it will help me and many others 💞
i just got my results back yesterday via my doctor (no report i could see --yet). he was very vague about what happens next except to order more blood tests. did you get treatment?
Leave it to lefty. Only treatment offered was gabbapentin or Lyrica. All the bloodwork came back normal except lyme. So apparently lyme is what caused my neuropathy
Happy to come across this post! After a traumatic overdose almost a year ago, and a reaction to a new med that made me feel really awful earlier this year, I'm unable to take any medications orally, even meds I've had before + not reacted to. I'm hoping to try DIY exposure therapy starting with tictacs, but I'm gonna try your tip to be around people! Every time I think of taking my meds, or even catch a whiff of a similar smell, I feel sick + retch. I'm really scared, but I need to be able to take meds again especially with my health declining
RAT KID let me know how it goes. It's crazy how a traumatic experience like yours can change your way of thinking. After i had a bad experience taking a med it made it difficult to trust another. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Hi can you pleases an update about your phobia for meds ? I’m going thru that now and will like to get some support. 🌸
Keila I will make a video soon with updates. So sorry to hear you are going thru this
@@phobiagirl5099 thank you for your reply. I hope to watch the new video soon ☺️
Mine personally is more of the fact that I might get an allergic reaction or any reaction of that sort.
Swagdrip that's my main fear as well
I try to do sonething with friend or have a phone conversation with a friend. It helps alleviate some.
Good idea NO LE
I have been struggling with this for the past 4 or 5 years and it's gotten worse during Covid. You are so brave and thoughtful for speaking out about it! I'm currently on meds and feeling scared, so it was comforting to see you share.
Thank you so much for watching. We gotta find strength somehow. 💪
Here i am its been 2 months and i still havent managed to take my meds i suffer with bad panick attacks to point now i havent left my house for 2 weeks at all im terrified that the meds will make me feel more panick i have had bad reaction to different meds and now i cant convince myself taking it i feel compleatly lost my panick is out of control yet i have meds and i cant take them because of this fear 😰
Do they have to do stitches to close it up? How is the scarring?
No stitches. Very tiny hole
I just want to say thank you very much for posting this. I've been spiraling about this exact thing for the last 6 hours after being prescribed an antibiotic. You helped me so much. Thank you. <3
@Aleksandra did you end up taking the med? Did you do ok?
I have a hard time to the point I crush ‘‘em in order to take it. I’m sick of this shit I’m just afraid of choking on it. Is that a sign of pharmacophobia.
Me too i fear of med allergy reaction. M affried to take meds
Thank you for sharing! After having side effects and allergic reactions to several meds, I developed a phobia of all meds. There’s no info and so far, I haven’t found any medical professionals that understand.😞
@Maeleea I was seeing a therapist in the past that was helping me with this issue. I had to stop seeing her but finding a new one soon. Have you tried therapy? I know it doesn't help with the obvious side effects or allergic reactions but it can help with the overall fear. Keep me posted. Good luck!!
I’m afraid of taking triple therapy antibiotics for my h pylori and it’s driving me crazy cause I’m so scared to have an allergic reaction or severe side effects 😩 I’m drive myself to the hospital and see if that helps me while taking the first dose
@Justin this fear is a beast. I totally understand the fear. Please keep me posted . Good luck!!! Remember think positive 😊
I’m hypothyroid and I’m supposed to be taking levo thyroxine but I am so scared, it’s been two years and I’m in therapy but I still can’t take it. I’m frustrated with myself. I feel horrid and I need to take it but the fear overrides common sense every time. I’ve finally been able to take my iron and vitamin D, that took forever too. Small victory!:) I have nasal polyps so they want me to take Allegra and Flonase, I bought it two weeks ago but am scared of it too! And my inhaler! Haha, it’s maddening!:/
Wow sounds alot like me. So sorry Heather
I was on levothyroxine for years and let me tell you it an extremely safe medication. You'll probably feel like crap until your body gets used to the medication but not taking your medicine for low thyroid is much more dangerous. My thyroid almost killed me once when I went without my pills 😊
What was your reference range.
I'll have to look for the paperwork. Sorry I just saw your message
I’ve got this , I just find it so difficult.. antibiotics, injections etc
The doctors don’t help or take it seriously
Deborah so sorry you're dealing with this . Sucks when drs don't take us seriously
Hi I saw your video about punch testing for nerve damage while researching new testing for B-12 deficiencies. I too lived in pain and tests and doctors.
@Bean Davidson so sorry to hear that. Did you figure out why you have this pain?
@@phobiagirl5099 yes- my full message did not post- a B12 deficiency. Please join a FB group like...facebook.com/groups/707933819262618/ most testing for this deficiency is flawed. that is how I found your video- while researching
@@phobiagirl5099 www.lifestylesbybean.com/b-12-why-the-urgency- Most healthcare do not understand the treatment and insidious nature of this deficiency. A functional med Dr is best if possible
@@phobiagirl5099 - I hope this info might be able to help you.
@Bean thanks. Yes I've read about that and will look into the group.
I witnessed so much trauma in my life I am anxious about taking medications because of the side effects I hate I Google and panic even when I'm sick 🤧🤮 I am spose take antibiotics and new anti depressants I'm scared cause one time I had a bad experience!!! Any suggestions I'm so tired and embarrassments of asking and telling someone!!!
@Rose have you sought out counseling?
@@phobiagirl5099 yes but I'm more than long way from getting handle on it 🙂 during covid it's hightned I'd like too share you have personnel messenger you look like old soul I'm from Canada
@Rose how can I reach out to you?
Pretty!!!
when i was young i'm not afraid of taking medicines but something happened when one time i was confine at the hospital due to my heart ailment, they gave me a medicine that really shook my world! i was overdose and i almost died that day! since then and up to this moment i got anxiety and fear of taking medications. even if i'm having headache i will just put a pain reliever ointment or balm and that's it and it works. and also i take garlic as my maintenance.
So sorry to hear that you experienced that. Hoping one day we can all overcome our fears 😨
