Great review! I just discovered the channel and I the content seems to be really good ! Concerning Beau de jour I had a similar experience I tested on paper at Sephora and I was pleased by the opening on paper , that lavender 🪻 field smell was awesome to me, but on my skin I don't like the first 15min of the opening, once the middle notes start to appear Beau de jour becomes a really classy and cosy fragrance at the same time the oak moss and the geranium gives some sharpness but it is very well balanced by the amber and the patchouli. I also agree that I can picture Tom Ford himself wearing this one (same for grey Vétiver EDP).
@@RaffiDiranBassclef it’s very love it or hate it and a recent IFRA casualty, but if you find it for a good price let me know, I should probably get a backup as it’s almost tailor-made for me :)
It’s like a black suit fits just right - you can wear it to almost any occasion and there is an air of quiet sophistication, like an older man confident in his own skin. This was my first full bottle from Mr Ford.
The Private Blend is superior to the main-line version. They are very similar, but there's a richness and depth in the Private Blend that the other doesn't have. This is well worth seeking out.
@@RaffiDiranBassclef You’re lucky to have it, as am I. I heard a rumour, you can take it with a grain of salt, that this is Tom Ford’s personal fragrance and he discontinued the Private Blend cuz he didn’t want anyone else wearing it. Hence the quick change from Private Blend to regular line.
@@alanledzep1967 haha, i love stories like that. I've seen interviews of him in the past where he's asked what he's wearing and he usually says Tobacco Vanille
@@RaffiDiranBassclef If I’m not mistaken, Quantum of Solace was the first Bond film that Tom Ford dressed. I read that he gave Daniel Craig a bottle of Tobacco Vanille and he wore it throughout the entire film. Oh shit!!! I guess that’s my scent of the evening……
The regular one is for me the best fougere, this must be even better :) Btw. I don't like overhyped Rive Gauche also, it's even almost a 1:1 copy of Azzaro lol

Those that paid more for the Private Blend rationalize it by telling themselves that it smells better than the Signature bottle.
also have Zino Davidoff ... and Beau de Jour is really more lavender heavy and probably better

I'm a big fan of the OG Azzaro ph, just can't seem to like Rive Gauche ph. Which I guess is a good thing considering it's price 🤑
