Remember buying this at peaches after i heard them on buffy the vampire movie, watched credits to learn band name, also discovered toad wet sprocket same day same purchase lol bought soundtrack no song on it,still one of best cassettes, now cd lol, wish they played in concert or released more
This CD got me thru many nights out on the ship when i was in the Navy listening to it while i was sitting in the catwalks listening to aircraft land...
I have a poster or flat I can send you from this album from doing the Northwest Band Booth at music conventions bc it helped you while serving our country. I tried so hard to get a USO Show with the Seattle bands in the 90's it never worked out. Message me on IG
SabuPtolemy You are 100% right. They just came on the rock scene at the wrong time. If they had released this album shortly after Appetite by G'N'R' they would have been huge! I appreciate them and am proud to own this CD.
John Hamler Glad you agree. There are so many bands like War Babies that never got their rightful place in rock history. With Hip Hop being so popular and Nirvana exploding onto the rock scene these guys and others never had a chance. Most people don't know shit about what makes a band great. The masses of casual sheep are drawn to whatever is popular/trendy regardless of whether it is talented or special in anyway. Theses morons control record sales and thus the trends.
Just picked up an autographed (!) copy of this CD in a Goodwill store for $1.99. I never heard''em back in the day but always heard good stuff about'em. Sounds like they were a pretty badass band!
I was 15 when this came out and it just wasn't on my radar. I loved this scene and bought all of the lesser known bands' cds on a whim, mostly. MTV wasn't playing this stuff as much in 91/92, but bands like Spread Eagle, Roxx Gang, Every Mothers Nightmare, Sea Hags, Tuff, Kingofthehill, D-A-D, etc. were so much better than Bon Jovi or Def Leppard and some others that survived the grunge/alternative/boy band/nu-metal scenes and are still touring today. This War Babies record and Asphalt Ballet's are the best debut albums from the late hairband scene, hands down!
I still remember this song came out in 91, Grunge had just took over. it was a throwback, out of date but still new. I always loved it. if it had been cut a few years earlier it would've done much better.....I'm not knocking the song, just timing
saw them at columbia river gorge , with steve miller, metal church ,ann and nancy wilson ,and a few others , they all rocked . sure wish they would do another tour before I croak
This stands up and kicks ass all these years later. I still have a cassette, and just bought on itunes today, I so wish that we could have had 20 years of WarBabies so that music would be going in the right direction!
I know about this band for like 15 years. But I was wathing the Pantera interview on Headbangers Ball and I remembered this song and came here to listen to it. Great memories! Too bad this band was a bit too late for the scene to break it, they had really quality content.
Oh yes I was there at the Central Tavern in Seattle 1989 when War Babies played there a lot...thanks to my fake ID I got to see it all in 89. and I was 20 that year. Brad pointed his mike at me one time because I knew it all and actually got a pic of that later- woo hoo!
this album does NOT have a bad song! that statement is heard allot but rarely supported. first track which caused the direction of my truck to head to tower records and buy the cassette was "sea of madness" however it was the song SWEETWATER (sadly can't find it on youtube) which pulled me in!! rare for a song to do that within seconds! last one in memory was THERE WAS A TIME by GNR and that was 5 years ago! SWEETWATER ..just amazing track!..."on the eve of destruction in my hotel room..." :)
This was one of Seattle's best bands-period. Tommy's guitar work and Brad's vocals were over the top! Not to dismiss Rich, Shawn or Guy's work and talent. Saw them many times in the day. Fantastic live band. I still listen to this cd several times a week. It just kicks ass.
These guys have obviously put in some kind of work to come up with this great video. They put their heart and soul into their music. That is why they have a great metal song that we can all sink our teeth into. Nice, Nice!!!!
I've probably commented here but I just love these guys. This song takes me back to everyone who was anyone was at their shows and it was just a happy good time night out with everyone. Always a good happy memory and Brad one of the best voices/singers EVER in RnR History and I am not going to say imo bc ITS A FACT!
I probably have commented on here b4 but I send so many ppl this video that when they thank me I come back and watch it again. The song is too GREAT not to. I think ppl see a great video and band but I am standing in the Central Tavern in Pioneer Square jammed in with a couple of hundred other ppl and EVERYBODY was there from all the now-known bands and all the regular music supporters and it was a moment in time where they were all in their prime and we were all in love with the same thing at the same time riding the same vibe having the same energy filled experience singing every word along with the band. There isn't a word to describe it other than pure perfection.
My buddy Darin Dipietro, was a friend of the band and took me to a show you did in Olympia,Wa. Great time, and a great show. I always thought that; but for bad timing, War Babies would have shot to the top.You guys had the misfortune of hitting your prime just as the grunge scene began taking hold. Hard Rock took a back seat for a few years. Never goes away though. Just had to wait for grunge to run its course. (Nothing against grunge; I liked that too)
Got to see these guys in a small bar in San Diego way back in the early 90's. They were working the material and getting ready to hit the road in support of the album. In my humble opinion.... one of the better bands I've ever had the chance to see live.... and I have seen a bunch!!! One of my top 10 albums ever!!
I saw them a few times back in the day and got to meet most of them. The bass player was a real nice guy. Still have the CD with autographs. I wish they would have released their second album; they played a few songs live when I saw them and they sounded great! They still sound great today.
@drummerbuzz I used to live in Renton for years-not far from the legendary Cascade Lounge. Most folks called it the Scrounge Lounge! Lived in Federal Way, Kent, a South King County rat basically.
Haha this brings back memories, 1991 house parties, highschool and blasting in the car stereo. They should have been bigger. Unfortunately the grunge scene destroyed any chance they had. I was a big fan of grunge and the band's that came with it War Babies had a great run.
That's what happens when you don't have a team member not in the band fighting for you. They deserved so much better (Sony). Beads is still doing good things and remastered TKO material a few tears back. Such a cool voice. Richard Stuverud still playing, one of the best drummers ever.
Amber Ferrano I don't think so. Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden brought something new to the table musically. There is a reason Dirt, Ten and Superunknown are classics. At the time there were a lot of other "grunge" bands that didn't make it like Tad or Fastbacks.
That is how it works. They weren't a hit from the start even with the same songs people now love. If you go to see local bands by the time a band makes it and the song is in rotation its 3 years old at least and you've moved on excited for new music. Clubs had 10 to 30 people at some of those show after the band's had record deals and on MTV. Think there was like 20 at the LA show with AIC & Extreme (with a popular video at that time) including my car totally full of people falling out. I was even pulled over. I had Spread Eagle guys and local & national Press and 4 people I brought down from Seattle. (You bring people you plant a seed in that can tell 2 people and so on). That is what I mean by having friends, family, and a crew around you that push you because they love you and for nothing else. You tell one person in each market and get the word out. They weren't played once on the radio or MTV and became instant hits. War Babies was consistent with what was happening at the time with Brad's unique voice and more Harley or NYC band looking, than LA. Jeff Ament was in War Babies for a short time but could not continue due to "breach" (CBS not Poly). AIC had to sell a % of their merch to get enough money to continue to tour, think it was $100k. Had they not got that money they may not have made it. Radio said AIC and Soundgarden would NEVER make it. I know I personally shopped them. I was sending Seattle Music down to LA Bands coming from that market (I worked in previously) as well as other people in Seattle up from LA and the only one that got it was Axl Rose. He came to Foundation and was moshing with me a 3 people in suits to Soundgarden. The room was almost empty. We were at a Heavy Metal Convention and people in that genre in press, radio, concerts, etc. didn't get it and didn't show up. I think Soundgarden was even swag that year. Cal talked about Soundgarden all the time after that on MTV and in press, he has received no credit. How do you not get Fopp and Loud Love, just the beginning of that song sets you up. There was no difference between them and say Fugazi or TAD (totally unique). It was the same loud noise to Press and Radio. Popular bands were like Poison, at the time). Then they were noticed in P1 stats in Billboard and thru Kardashian's Radio & Records, Foundations, NME and then it started to take off. A big push from the European Market at the time (who still loves anything Seattle) made the US realize they were missing out. I saw them open at the Temple Theater in Tacoma in 91 for Dredserious and Alice in Chains.. Dred was a Tacoma grunge/rock band, the best who never made it because of a difference of opinion in direction. Mishka wanted to go "dark" and the other guys, Scotty, James, Jared, and Dusty were very Catholic and said no. I am friends with these guys. True story.. Roger Sadler Look for his Solo Music, Ck out Tommy Gunn, also Roger Fisher from Heart, Sweetwater because they are touring. Also been talking with people about Rick Springfield. Everyone is diggin' the new stuff and going back listening to older including me. He played with the symphony in PDX recently which was done back in the day in Seattle with "Grunge Tunes". If I want heavier I go for Tad "8 Way Santa" (Wired God, etc.) Skin Yard or Grunt Truck or Monster Magnent. Just a few ideas. Of course you've listened to Mother Love Bone right. Think I will right now.
I skipped a show with Alice n chains and war babies thinking I could just see them later…not one of my better calls lol. Sweetwater is the another band I always listen to now that was hyped in Seattle but never reached escape velocity.
wow what a underrated band I don't why but it seems the underrated bands sound better then the mainstream bands that where out at the time which is just weird to me.
StangQuest94 Brad remaster TKO material, last I talked to him. He has tons of cool Solo music. I feel bad because he had sent me free music. I know he had some for sale. I'm going to look. His voice is so cool and unique. Tommy was playing around again. Not sure if he recorded anything. Heard it was in the War Babies vein.
"Thou shalt not covet that which is thy neighbours" is pretty rich a statement, considering that Faex Mundi were not my neighbours, and thus found it fair to not just covet but steal …
Bought this album when it came out and listend to it hundred of times🤗. I think it's time to repeat it.....good, old times ❤️
One album. Listen to the words on this song
Bought every cassette they had. Awesome band

It’s 2024. Still love it.
This band should have been bigger then jebuz, this world's priorities on music is fukked. These guys fukkin rock.
SabuPtolemy You are 100% right. They just came on the rock scene at the wrong time. If they had released this album shortly after Appetite by G'N'R' they would have been huge! I appreciate them and am proud to own this CD.
+Donald Lutkin Yup. It's a solid waist-level rock song that got totally ignored. But I remember... Lo these many years later.
John Hamler Glad you agree. There are so many bands like War Babies that never got their rightful place in rock history. man I just discovered this band from Pantera's interview. this is dope.
I know about this band for like 15 years. But I was wathing the Pantera interview on Headbangers Ball and I remembered this song and came here to listen to it. Great memories! Too bad this band was a bit too late for the scene to break it, they had really quality content.

I have this on vinyl. Lead singer is from TKO.
will always love this song!
One of the BEST SONGS EVER. Brad your voice just kills me.
this album does NOT have a bad song! that statement is heard allot but rarely supported. first track which caused the direction of my truck to head to tower records and buy the cassette was "sea of madness" however it was the song SWEETWATER (sadly can't find it on youtube) which pulled me in!! rare for a song to do that within seconds! last one in memory was THERE WAS A TIME by GNR and that was 5 years ago! It's too bad that Turdvana and Pearl Jizz were the ones who get all the glory.
I still have the cd...bought it many years ago and still listen to it
once a week a least, what a jewel !!!
These guys have obviously put in some kind of work to come up with this great video. They put their heart and soul into their music. That is why they have a great metal song that we can all sink our teeth into. Nice, Nice!!!!
I wish that these guys had come out a few years earlier they most likely would have been a lot more popular.
I wrote this with paul !!
tommy mcmullin :)
Wow! Are you really Tommy McMullin?
I remember reading about you writing with Paul Stanley .
I've probably commented here but I just love these guys. This song takes me back to everyone who was anyone was at their shows and it was just a happy good time night out with everyone. Always a good happy memory and Brad one of the best voices/singers EVER in RnR History and I am not going to say imo bc ITS A FACT!
Lol Sorry just noticed I was the last comment and said a similar thing but gawd they are so great!.
It was a miracle I was able to have this cassette tape in a small Midwest town of Minnesota it was a good time still back in those days

I probably have commented on here b4 but I send so many ppl this video that when they thank me I come back and watch it again. The song is too GREAT not to. I miss the 90s.
Just found this cd new on ebay....SCORE!!!

This is awesome, these fellas knew how to bring it!
My buddy Darin Dipietro, was a friend of the band and took me to a show you did in Olympia,Wa. Great time, and a great show. I loved this and one or two other songs on this album. I would have loved to see them grow into something more.
"Take me home and give me Sweetwater....." Loved this Album
The whole album was killer. Great music.

I bought this album (cd) when it first came out one to see what it was about, interesting rock.
Earworm since I bought the CD years ago
2022 War Babies still kick so much ass!!
Kick ass song. Thanks for uploadin!
@drummerbuzz I used to live in Renton for years-not far from the legendary Cascade Lounge. Most folks called it the Scrounge Lounge! Lived in Federal Way, Kent, a South King County rat basically.
I remember how I first saw War Babies and it was when Columbia House had the monthly metal videos on VHS
I think I still have this CD . I saw them in concert and they sounded great. I really like there music.
RealRavenCorps I use to have a shitload of CD'S myself. But my window left down one day at 7eleven took care of that😪
Absolutely. Got me through kids mother kidnapping one child and abandoning autistic son. Got him back. Raised them both
Haha this brings back memories, 1991 house parties, highschool and blasting in the car stereo.

I came here because War Babies was in the thanks of the Alice In Chains album, Facelift.
Alice had the curtain drop 30 minutes early because Dred was blowing the roof off the place. This was Alices shot at a recording contract and they would never outdo Dred, not this night..UA-cam Dredserious.. amazing
ONG, does anyone still have this cd? I LOVED this song/band and thier music! too bad they didn't get the attention they deserved.
Love these guys. Have their only cb. Great band that never made it big. Not sure why not. Never hear this stuff on hair nation or any other radio station. Crazy !

KILLER SONG CHEERS 🍻
this song sounds sort of like KISS with a different lead singer and if I'm not mistaken I believe that Paul Stanley of KISS co wrote some of the lyrics to this song which could be part of the reason it sounds a lot like KISS.
Noah McIver right , paul did co wrote , bad the only album , thanx to the '90s bands
What???? They sound nothing like kiss.
Great! Too bad more music wasn't made from these guys.
Lead singer Brad Sinsel was previously in a band called TKO. Check out their album "In Your Face"...not great, but very good and worth your time:)
Happy to say I own this ....
The band that had its own misical handwriting )))
I miss this ass kickin' rock!!!!!
Roger Sadler
Look for his Solo Music, Ck out Tommy Gunn, also Roger Fisher from Heart, Sweetwater because they are touring. Also been talking with people about Rick Springfield. one kickass band!!
I skipped a show with Alice n chains and war babies thinking I could just see them later…not one of my better calls lol.
Sweetwater is the another band I always listen to now that was hyped in Seattle but never reached escape velocity.
🤘
run off the mill
Huh???
What makes you so divine... ?
😍😍😍😍😍😍✊
wow what a underrated band I don't why but it seems the underrated bands sound better then the mainstream bands that where out at the time which is just weird to me.
Awesome band. I think Paul Stanley from KISS co-wrote two of there songs on their album. But besides that, Fuck they do ROCK!!!
under rated band could've been huge if not for Grunge
Best Song on the Album, was this the only one or are there others out there I have not heard?
30 years later and it still fkin rocks
Still rocking my cassette and now cd. Do they have anymore albums?
StangQuest94
Brad remaster TKO material, last I talked to him. He has tons of cool Solo music. I feel bad because he had sent me free music. I know he had some for sale. I'm going to look. His voice is so cool and unique. Tommy was playing around again. Not sure if he recorded anything. Heard it was in the War Babies vein.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
