      Awwww! ❤ I miss those past summertime days with my sons. They're all grown up now, and they would totally love these spring rolls. I just recently became obsessed with spring rolls, and even though I'm an experienced cook, I was having trouble with mine splitting open. I see where I'm going wrong is not shredding or thinly slicing my veggies. Thank you for the tutorial video! I think I'll go make some right now!

    Asian person here. Here’s few tips to make life easier. You just wet the rice paper for a quick second and don’t worry that it still feels hard to the touch, the excess water you’re dabbing off actually soaks into the paper as you’re wrapping your ingredients and will soften the shell in a few more seconds so you don’t have to dab the excess with a towel. Try it…hope this helps.

    I have eaten 100% plant based for six years thanks to my sister. I very much lucked out. My husband is not vegan, but we both eat only plant based at home, and he loves everything I make. However, when we eat out, all bets are off. 😅

    I'm going to need help soon- I've been having spring rolls multiple times a week lately!
    I do carrot, cucumber, green onion,brown rice pad thai or maifun, and bake my tofu with whole foods' "sesame garlic crunch".
    Sauce, I do: tahini/lime/tamari/fix sriracha.
    Nobody else in my house will touch them, because of the wrapper texture. Hah- fine by me. Pfft.

      Yes the wrapper texture is a problem. Any solutions?

    • @HealthyVeganMama
      @HealthyVeganMama  24 дні тому +2

      @@bopeep1455 eat it without the wrapper. So put all ingredients in a bowl (minus wrapper) and top with the sauce.

    • @00Jay00
      @00Jay00 24 дні тому +2

      @bopeep1455 If you eat oil, you could spray a little avo oil on them & air fry, or pan fry. Just to give it a little crisp.
      Also good with nori, or wrapped in lettuce.

    Here’s another idea. Sauté sliced jicama and carrots to your taste. Slice thin white tofu and air fry. Do not sauté fried tofu with the jicama if you want to keep the tofu crispy. Wrap everything with mint leaves or whatever herb you prefer. Dipping sauce is a mix of hoisin sauce, peanut butter, sugar and water. Note: wrap your roll longer and thinner than in the video to have a better “fitting” bite. Enjoy!

    I tried this recipe yesterday! I failed on the wrapper a bit so I’m so thankful for this tip so I can try again. It was super easy and tasty though!! I’m also the only veggie in my household and it’s been a struggle for 20 years. But I have a feeling now that I’ve found you it won’t be anymore! Brilliant easy recipes that are super tasty too! I was way over complicating it.

      So happy you’re here and I hope I can help you out a bit :) yeah I like to keep them a little stiff (the wrappers), and I find they don’t fall apart that way. Let me know if you make them again and it works

      I made them several more times since I saw this video and it worked so much better! Between just holding the wrappers under the faucet and using a veggie peeler for the cucumbers, such a difference! This will be a staple meal now. Thank you!!

    I have been making these on repeat for some time now, so yummy, so fresh and delicious! I find that holding the paper flat on my palm under the water allowing it to run over the edges, do the same on the other side and quickly around the edges for 12 seconds max they are perfect. They continue to soften after you lay them. I have also been making burritos with 2 papers and a nori sheet! extra flavour, extra big and soo delicious. I like you rolling method ; }

    First post of yours I've seen it the recipe looks great. I will say tho that running them under water wastes a lot of water vs putting them in a bowl. Being from the west I never let water run. I'll have to look at your other posts!

    Does anyone know if I were to sub out rice noodle for the rice if that would still fall in line with the WFPB high carb for weight loss?
    And adorable kids!!!

    • @HealthyVeganMama
      @HealthyVeganMama  24 дні тому +1

      This is high carb and wfpb so not sure why this wouldn’t fit into that category. I am currently losing weight now and these are fantastic for my weight loss. And thank you 😊

    Dip them in a bowl of water here in Australia that would be a real waste of water. Video is good though thankyou.

    • @HealthyVeganMama
      @HealthyVeganMama  23 дні тому

      This could be true. We turn the water off after wetting the wraps individually, and we may use less water than filling a bowl or use the same amount we would to fill it up. You have to use quite a large amount of water to fill a bowl with warm water that would fit one of these, so you can dunk it. But yes, you bring up a good point.

      30-45 secs just to warm it and help the soy sauce absorb.
