- Thanks to the guys from the Dolphin emulator community, it is now possible to run Sonic Colors at whooping 60 fps! Well, from now on, I'm capturing Sonic Colors at 60 fps!
Here goes Planet Wisp Act 1! Looks beautiful! Be sure to watch it at 60 fps by using Google Chrome browser or others that support 60 fps on YT.

It's literally a poorman Unleashed. Worse controls, worse level design, worse graphics (due to being on a pisspoor "console") , soundtrack is crap aside for 2-3 tracks, story and voice acting are utter shit, and the Wisps suck.
So nope, I'm not giving a break to a pile of crap ;)

Generations takes place right after this game and the plot of the time eater bringing back time makes planet wisp make sense and they brought back the egg dragoon from unleashed with a level from sonic adventure 2
I have mixed feelings about Colors, but I'll always love the opening 3D segment of this act. If the whole game played in 3D like that and had a more dramatic plot, Colors would probably be one of my favorites.
This is probably the shortest sonic game I've played all the stages are 1-2 minutes long and the first boss especially was a complete pushover

The game needs "werehog level" or else it would be too short. But instead of switching between 2D and 3D segments, the levels should be full 2D and full 3D levels.
At the end of the day, it's a kids game, most of us aren't kids anymore, and we don't have the 2000s edge to make it more serious. It's a sad fate, but an inevitable one.

Get one! They're cheaper than they've ever been. I saw a complete wii at a flea market a week ago for $30. Even had some games too tho game were garbage.

So, utterly scaled down graphics to be accomodated on a sub par gimmicky toy, drift not being able to recharge the Boost, no Air Dash, no 100 rings = 1 life, no Light Speed Dash, utterly stiff double jump, slippery physics, still overly linear corridors, on-rail autorunning Quick Step to Win, lame Mario power ups that are either nerfed Sonic abilities (Spikes = Spindash, Laser = Boost, Hover = Light Speed Dash and Tails) or either mandatory shitty gimmicks (Blue Cube) or worse, other characters abilities crammed into shitty power-ups (Drill and Frenzy = Knuckles, Hover, again, is Tails) and a load of clunky, cluttered, claustrophobic, long and tedious 2D sections are an improvement ?
Also, no freaking replay value whatsoever, tedious and unrewarding Red Star Rings fetch quest aside, and a COMPLETELY useless Super Sonic ?

I still have this game for my old Wii, it was amazing and still is one of the most enjoyable 3D Sonic games to date. Next only to Generations, IMO.
This course on Generations I found kinda boring though.

I don't have much time for this kinda stuff at the moment. Maybe some time later. This video wasn't recorded in real time, it was captured via Dolphin emulator's frame dump feature, so your settings might not matter much.

What I really don't like about this game is how they chose quantity over quality.
That's not exclusive to Colors.
***** Unleashed's daytime levels I personally prefer over Colors's levels, but the game itself is nowhere close to as good because of the QTE bullshit it forces you to go through and the Werehog levels that go on and on for literally hours sometimes. IMO Generations got it perfect with 2 acts per zone but in very high quality detail and gameplay.
ToxicScrote Generations was way too short. Instead of half the filler missions, they could have worked more on story or on adding one more zone.

If you don't like their game, don't buy it, don't click on videos on it, and just overall ignore it. Anything you do regarding this game will get it money. Buying the game says that you approve. I don't like their games and I don't buy them, but that doesn't mean I can't judge them to see what could be salvaged or not for a better next installment. I haven't bought a Sonic game since Black Knight, Generations being the only exception, which I keep only as a reminder of how low the series has stepped. And if that really matters, then tell me how there's a video on YT of Lost World's cutscenes with 30 millions of views, yet the actual game barely sold 700k copies, even less on Steam ?

What settings do you play the game at? I use the same GPU that you use, 16GB RAM and an Intel Core i7 4820K (Clocked @ 4.3GHz), and I kinda struggle with making it perform at 60fps in more demanding areas. So could you tell me what settings you play Sonic Colors at?
+DarkSparkish My settings are similar, I even have less RAM (8 GB). Try using different revisions of Dolphin. Some work better than others.

This is the living proof that Colors' level design was consistently bad. 5 or 6 seconds of this level were spent in compellingly designed sections, and yet it won the Generations poll right on the heels of this game, when it was still fresh in people's minds. There was nothing that rose above it, uninspired as it was. "Best boost game" my ass.

It looks like a low-res, polygonal port of the Hedgehog Engine. Average, but I've seen much better. Plus, pretty graphics (for a shovelware game), shit gameplay. And people have the balls to say it's better than Forces, when it plays almost the same........
