We bought property that was filled with trash and areas that were filled with trash. As I've pulled the trash out of those areas and properly disposed of them, it has been so fulfilling. You will never regret cleaning the property. It is really starting to look great!
It is so neat to see you need a post or a 2 x 4 or whatever and then make one right there, no going to Lowe's. You're really talented. What a homestead this will be!
"I don't think that's how is suppose to work". "It works for me". That was a typical conversation with my father and I...it always made him smile. That really made me laugh. Also, the burning of the posts is such a great method, not mention cheap way of installing posts. You may not realize, but those boys are learning so much from you.
I love that you are teaching your boys. My hubby had our son out doing car repairs and replacing an engine when he was about your boys' ages and the whole neighborhood of boys wanted to join in. They need to learn and what better way than with dad. It looks good. God bless.
Good day, beautiful Hollar family! That was fun watching the progress getting ready for the pigs. Thank you for taking us along. Safe travels tomorrow!
Hi from the UK. Just started watching your videos and loving how your homestead farm is coming along. I have bin watched from when you came to the place, I couldn't stop 😃. Keep them coming, looking forward to more pigs. X
BEN***Build a pond!!!!!!!!! Set it up on the low end that gets all the water. We use pigs in ours here to trample and set the bottoms of ponds to plug any leaky areas. Works great.
Great job with some really cute helpers. 😊 It's awesome that you are able to use wood from your own property. Your 'Can Do' determination is admirable. Love your channel.
I have three sons and watching all your adventures takes me back. You are creating beautiful hearts in those boys. They even cook!!!! No job is ‘just for girls’. Well rounded sons are a pleasure to live with. 🥰❤️😍
So sad the post digger broke! I used a propane torch and it worked really quick to char the wood on my raised bed wood. Nice! Nice bird's beak cuts! Thanks for this!
Right?! When our kids were growing up I always made it a point to thank my husband for kindnesses, and vice versa. Consequently the kids followed our example. Simple as that.
In a few years, when you have four teenage dudes, your farm is going to hum! It's nice to watch them learn and grow. Boys raised right! I love your shelter structure. Pretty clever!
You accomplished so much during this time!...missed seeing Lil Bug..by the way I have my second great grandson/granddaughter (?) coming in Sept. and they are going to call her Nugget (like a gold nugget)....God continue to bless y’all abundantly and stay safe and healthy!
Hotdog! Team Hollar for another win. The boys and dad did such a great job with the outdoor work. Even though the post hole digger bit the dust. 😊 Travel safe when you go. Thanks.
Y'all got a lot done for the pigs stomping grounds and shelter. Your boys are great helpers...many hands make light work. They are learning that early in the game. Looking forward to the introduction to your new pigs. Stay warm and have a Blessed day.
Hey guys hv u heard of Tracey @ Nova Scotia Living.....her’s & this one oh & Good Simple Living all time favorite blogs . Alive love the music on this video today Ben! Thank you:)
Ben one thing to think about for the pigpen shelter the post were charred, the pigs will knew on the post since they were charred here is what I found for charred wood or charcoal : Furthermore, the practice is common among many farmers to routinely provide charcoal, wood ashes or coal for their hogs. Charcoal is said to be desirable in mineral mixtures to prevent caking, to increase palatability and to produce a desirable and uniform color to improve its appearance
I was surprised the first time when you cut boards out of fallen trees. But found it beautiful when you finished the shelves. You and your family are very hard workers. I LOVE watching your channel along with The Fit Farmer and Justin Rhodes channels. Can't wait for the lights to arrive.
Love love love watching you and your boys building your home infrastructure for the homestead. Hope we get 🙏 to see more building and cleaning up the place.
i use that construction wire with rail road sleepers, used chainsaw cut a groove down middle and then insert the fencing, nail in some D nails on the sides to lock them together, i added small chain the fences to join and link them together, saves banging in fence posts...
Ben, I like the way you work, your style and methodology. You skill shows through in handling everything. It is from your background carried over to the rest of the real world. As to the spring that is far away, maybe you could rent a skip loader that would scoop it up fast, carry it to your truck or a pile elsewhere and maybe even dig out a bit of the earth there for cleanup as well as a pond/ swimming hole on the hot days. Blessings on you and your whole family.
You, & the boy’s did a great job clearing the yard, & starting the shelter for the animal’s. Love the channel, be safe, stay healthy, God Bless everyone.
I love watching your time lapses. I end up watching on faster playback speed anyways. Your oldest is growing into a fine young man. Hardly recognize him. I imagine his voice is deepening too.
Ben, well done, pretty quickly. I'm sure the residents will like your efforts. Spreading out and establishing your blueprint for the homestead. Making accommendations to increase the animal population. Glad to see your progress. Blessings to the family.
Nice shelter, not bad for your first timber frame. Waited in line for an hour and a half to get jugs of water here in north Texas. Everybody's pipes froze. Still waiting for the well to get fixed. They pretty busy. Glad the electricity didn't go out. No propane available. All I wanted was hot dog buns. No bread, milk, eggs, etc.
I am thankful ya'll did not get that ice storm - more than 10 inches of snow here in BFE North TX.......all gone now, beautiful day today 75F Yeehaw! Hugs!
I'm so impressed with your skills. Taking advantage of things you have free on the Homestead. Great education for your boys as well. Blessings to y'all❤🙏
I admire so very much how you work with your sons and how well they work with you. What an education. That’s what my husband did with our three sons and one daughter. It has been invaluable to all of them. They have all used those skills their whole lives. My oldest is now 53 and my youngest is 41.
I'm a 70 year old great Grandma and do a lot of hog panel fencing on my own (ie. no help). I found those fence clips to be a real pain so years ago switched to just using a piece of electric fence wire. I buy spools at tractor supply. It goes on incredibly fast and comes off just as fast when I move the panels. I am in the process of moving from my 48 acres to 18 acres in a cooler climate and I'm taking all the stock panels and t-posts with me. Take down and set-up have been so much easier because all I have to do is cut a stack of short wire pieces and twist them around the two panels and the t-post.
your Boys do a amazing job with helping around your home stead nice to see little men working not playing video games all the time great job Ben and Meg Great Parenting on them they have great work ethics Little Princess sure a Doll Love Your Videos

Cannot get enough of this channel! Bet I'm not the only one glad to see your more regular uploads?
"I don't think that's how is suppose to work".
"It works for me".
That was a typical conversation with my father and I...it always made him smile. That really made me laugh. Also, the burning of the posts is such a great method, not mention cheap way of installing posts. You may not realize, but those boys are learning so much from you.
come on piggys. glad to see you posting more. missed you guys
Your family is heart warming. All of you work together!! That is a wonderful thing in this day and age.
I love that you are teaching your boys. My hubby had our son out doing car repairs and replacing an engine when he was about your boys' ages and the whole neighborhood of boys wanted to join in. They need to learn and what better way than with dad. It looks good. God bless.
Wow, having springs on your property is a blessing. Covert them to shallow wells to water your animals .
Good day, beautiful Hollar family!
That was fun watching the progress getting ready for the pigs.
Thank you for taking us along. Safe travels tomorrow!
I admire your letting the boys help you with your projects.. No greater school than hands on.

Ben, you are one of the hardest working men I have ever seen! Your sons are learning so much from you to use in their many years ahead of them!
Awesome. Great job with the pig fence and house. Thanks to all the boys for lending a helping hand. Cheers to you all.

Your sweet boys have grown so much.. Loving seeing the land coming together. The Hollars are still in our prayers daily.
I really enjoy watching the boys climb all over the stuff, you did a great job with the entire pig area. Love and hugs.
I’ve used leftover bricks to make a path through sloppy areas.
David Rabb ~ Great idea and they certainly have their share of wet areas!
or for the steps they mentioned having to do down the hill
Or to line a spring outlet... or a pond.
Nice job on the build, also nice to have help from the boys. Can't wait to see the new piggys. Safe trip to and fro. Blessings to all. 😊🇺🇸

Great job on the clean up and shelter. Your land is really really coming along, I can remember how it looked when you purchased it. 👍
Well done to you and your lovely children. You all worked so hard. Cant wait to see the finished house for the pigs x

Every time I hear someone on the states talk about a storm I check to see if it is headed up to Nova Scotia 😅. This is my storm watch.
🤣🤣🤣

Keep it up Ben you'll get there!
I don't know why today's video made me laugh through the time lapse with the boys. Happy Day
my grandpa used to just use old motor oil on the end of his posts.. Kept bugs and water out of them
That was sooo cool. Making something out of nothing and not spending a dime. Props man!!!
Love following projects and can’t wait to see the new pigs
Looks good guys!!! So glad your boys get to help do stuff like that. It teaches them how to build. Maybe one day they will build their own house!!!!
Congratulations. Henry seems settled, surrounded in love by his wonderful family.
Breaking the post hole digger was so relateable! My husband has broken or bent four of those things since we moved to the land.
