I have disabled game master for the HDMI port I have my PC plugged into. Leave your picture setting on PC and don’t change to smart HDR or vivid or anything, and also leave the brightness / saturation alone. Doing these steps has helped so far
If it's flickering only from external HDMI sources it's a handshake issue. Check the length of the HDMI cables. Keep them short. I mean no more than 6 ft long from the cable.
Funnily enough I hadn't tried power cycling mine. Seems to have fixed the issue for now. I've got the 55 inch mini led with built in soundbar - so it's still relatively new
None of this worked for me. Suspiciously, the jump-glitching occured the day after my warrenty expired. I think this is because TCL is probably using thin wafers or wires that they know will degrade within a years time after purchase.
My tcl worked fine for 9 years and just recently I found this flickering every 6 seconds . I them set the t.v on dark mode not much difference in pic and screen stopped flickering
I can’t find my specific problem. My tv flickers then starts to get messed up and the image freezes (only happens when I’m on my ps4) when I’m on UA-cam after a while it flickers a bit but with the ps4 it only lasts like 10 mins then the image “bleeds” and looks like crap. Is my tv done?
Picture presets worked for me... It stopped at Natural. I think standard, dynamic and movie were causing issue. But would look into it later. Had this issue for over 2 years, and first time saw this solution right when it was occuring and stuffs . Note: For HDMI, TV, USB... Picture Preset is specific so would have to set for them again specifically once.
Mine is just 4 years old…once had to factory reset through remote operation done by the seller….but now, even can’t see the brand name loading..the screen is simply gone..sound ok, but I can’t see anything..anything mean, nothing….can someone help? Or if anyone knows anything about remote operation with this sort of problem?
If you have no picture but you do have sound, then you most likely have a backlight failure. You can see more at ua-cam.com/video/o6ddbJS-gYY/v-deo.html
I found new easy step (our tv keeps flickering when it's on Netflix or UA-cam) 1. turn on TCL tv 2. click menu 3. click settings 4. click football mode 5: select ON you're welcome

Changing (lowering) the brightness helped!! Thank you!!!
Just last year i had to replace the whole backlight since my screen wouldnt turn on, now it's a flickering issue. STAY AWAY FROM TCL!! 🤦🏾♂️

It's surprising how often this fixes it with the most recent models.
Hopefully It starts working but I'll never buy another tcl tv.
I hear you
Me too. Damn!
Mine flickers because of the VRR. If I turn it off, it stops flickering. But I think that means the VRR isn’t working how it should.

I think it helped. Thank you so much.
Thanks
how to power cycle when my tv doesn't have the button
I had to turn on accessibility so I could know what I’m pushing.. but haven’t found anything to be useful.
IT WORKED!!!! Thank you

Mine is 85 inch brand new up for a month ..flickers each click on remote i make ...$1800
Easiest to just get a replacment - it sounds like a software issue.

Initially my TV started to flicker when I switched to PS4
Is this a TCL challenge ? Many of them have this problem
It most definitely is.... it's a bad TV brand. I learned the hard way. I recommend doing your research, and under no circumstance get a TCL.
Which brand(s) do you recommend?@@kevinspears10531
awesome it worked.Thank you

My tcl q7 is flickering when i use vrr and i cant figure it out. Its infuriating because i bought it specifically for that and 120hz
I assume you're using an HDMI connection? Could be the cable or the settings on the TV or the plugged in device
@techtests figured out it's the VA panel. 60hz is dimmer than 120hz, so when a game drops below 60fps with vrr on, it flashes.
What do you mean exactly by flickering?
if the picture or backlight is flashing on and off
Blinking image Shakiness

Piece. Of. Crap.
Don't buy a TCL tv! I've named mine Sybil. If you're Old School, you'll get the movie reference. Apropos!
