      For awhile I’ve wanted to work my single stroke roll up to 300 bpm in 16th notes. That’s about as fast as is humanly possible. Also I’d love to work my bass drum back into my prime

      @ThePetieProject  4 роки тому +1

      @@JaxonHaze Nice, I can't even imagine 16th at 300 bpm. 8th notes are already pretty quick at that speed.

      Yeah, I max out at about 200 bpm rn

    Just discovered your channel and subbed! I'm 32 years old and tore my ACL 6 months ago playing basketball with some friends. PT and recovery have been going well but I'm constantly battling internal doubts. My knee feels so foreign to me and my previous level of athleticism feels dauntingly far away, so far away that I sometimes have thoughts that I'll never get back to playing high level tennis again. It's a sport that brings me such joy and I'm determined to get back on the court in the future. You've definitely motivated me to really lock into the growth mindset. It's a process but I'm starting to believe that my most athletic years are still ahead of me even though I'm in my early 30s. So glad I found your channel. I'll be following your journey as I continue my own! Good luck!

      Wow, I'm so glad that you discovered my channel! It's can be incredibly daunting coming back from an injury and I have my days of doubt like anyone else. Staying in touch with the fact that your mindset in the foundation for overcoming anything will take you a very long way! I'm excited to share my journey with you and hope that it can help you with yours!

      I wish you best of luck! I´ve overtrained myself in early twenties (doing hell of a plyos, squats besides team practises and games with no knowledge of recovery times whatsoever). Reached 32 running vert that time, which wasn´t enough for a dunk, but then hit a plateau and minor injury setback started to show up
      I´m 27 and the toll it took on my body - knees has shown up on the surface.
      I´m currently on my 5th month with Knees over toe guy Zero programme and I really see the progress. I´m more stable than before, VMO and rectus femurus is visibly bigger, was the only guy on the group hike whose knees felt fine walking downhill. The only downside is my explosiveness regressed as I can´t jump that high + do the hard stops on the dime (crossovers, eurostep in full speed) - but it´s a part of a journey of getting back and beyond....THE RIGHT WAY this time, with knowledge and patience backing it up.
      Keep up your work guys and stay motivated! (btw. we sound like group in drug rehab, sharing stories :D )

    For 2021, my dream of dunking is practically over. I am 40+ years old and 5 foot 8. I managed to touch the rim when I was 14 at 5 foot 8. Now I only train like a jumper to make my knees stronger and avoid osteoporosis, osteopenia, and sarcopenia.

    • @ThePetieProject
      @ThePetieProject  3 роки тому +2

      I think a rim touch at 14 at 5' 8" is still an impressive feat! Continuing to train like an athlete to improve your longevity is a great strategy to pursue at any age. We might not all be throwing down windmills but there is always something we can get better at!

    Good video. I was 6'4" now shrunk to 6'3" over time. when I was in high school, I could easily dunk including windmill. I stopped playing much after I turned 30 when I got dunked on by 19 yr old kids. I started back later and my goal at 40 yrs old was to dunk again. I did it when I was 40. Now I'm 57. I have not played ball in 15 or more years much less jumped. I've completed KOT zero and on dense now. My goal is to dunk again at age 60. It's going to take all 3 years to get my body back into shape to do that.....

    Nice video, are you doing the kneesovertoesguy program for your knees? I’m going to start that for my knees once my basketball season is over so I can progressive overload. I also have tendon pain in both knees.

    • @ThePetieProject
      @ThePetieProject  3 роки тому +8

      I did a couple of months of Ben Patrick's (kneesovertoesguy) original knee ability program back in the beginning of 2020. I had a few sticking points with the programming that weren't working for me, so I branched out and started doing my own programming while incorporating many of the foundational movements that I had learned from training in the original ATG knee ability system.
      I know a lot has changed with his progressions since I was doing the ATG system with 12 weeks of knee ability 0 followed by 12 weeks of dense strength followed by 12 weeks of standards. I think it's definitely worth doing the actual ATG system for a while to be confident than you learn the movements correctly if nothing else. I've been training for a long time so I'm very in tune with when my body is responding to something. If you have limited training experience, I suggest you try sticking with his exact program and see how it does for you. His knowledge and passion is contagious and I'm glad more people are discovering his style of training.
      It's funny, I've competitively played rugby and basketball. Never got hurt in rugby, but multiple injuries in basketball. It's definitely one of those sports that you need to have your training dialed in so that you don't run your body ragged. Good luck to you!
