Everyone complaining about this guy's accent is picking a fight lol. His English is impressive- if you can't understand, there are subtitles. This guy has talent!! Amazing work, I'm inspired by this wall for my own project :)
Awesome video! A cool thing I figured out to use to make the sides of the tank opaque is using a “blackout static cling window privacy film” it’s a sheet of plastic that adheres temporarily using water. It looks amazing and can be removed and adjusted as needed! I used it on all of my terrariums and it made a huge difference :)
How did you waterproof the paint on top of it? Since acrylic paints are not water proof, but water resistant...so being under water and/or water being on the surface all the time makes the peint soft and then a crawling animal can easily scratch it off. So to make it long lasting you'd have to use some sealer or varnish.
I live in the USA. Can you add links to what cement and grout products you used, or is safe to use? I love this video, and I used TONS of techniques you mentioned in your video. Thank you so much! Also, will cement make the foam expand? Thank you!
Is it a bit difficult for me to give you a link but this is simple grey cement you can find in home depot and this is the same for Sika Latex of the brand Sika, you can find it at Home Depot. For epoxy resin R123 of the brand Soloplast is seems to be more complicated, I don't see it a Home depot so maybe on boat care stuff websites. And no there is no foam or polystyren explanding with cement ;)
Thanks! Yes PVC sheets are from Palram. The real name of this this stuff is (at least in France) expanded PVC. Another famous brand is Forex but it so damn hard to find :( I found mine in a do it yourself store but this kind of stuff is availble on Polydis.fr but I don't know if they deliver outside France.
First it not an aquarium but a terrarium (it is written in the title) and second as I said in the video, Acrylic paint become neutral when completely dry. Then it is just water based paint.
Do you have to seal the foam (heat wise) before you add cement or grout, a lot of the videos I’ve watched people have problems with it sticking to foam, just wonder cause I’m almost to the process of cement and I don’t want to mess up
Do not forget to activate subtitles if needed :)

Not complaining just laughing... takes me back to the sweet IT Crowd times.

Thank you for this tutorial! I subbed :)
You're an artist! 👌

Hi!! Would this method work for a frog terrarium?? I'm having trouble finding non toxic methods for amphibians.
Lovely video!!!
Yes I confirm it OK for frogs
Good job fella! 👌
Judging from your accent it's a terrarium for frogs 😂
Anyway keep up the good work those are very helpful vids.

@@Terrarium-Construction Thank you so much!
Can I make this outside the terrarium and the stick it after it’s done?
If you are that you are able to introduce it by doors yes
doesnt the paint wash off?
Just a very few at worst
How hard is the surface of the background? Suitable for reptiles with nails, that will climb?
Quite hard. I'd say ok for mid size lizzard such as correlophus ciliatus but not for big one such as varanus

Is it possible to do this with laminated wood?
If you talk about the tank yes, if you talk about fake rock background no ;)
How would you go about cleaning this wall?
With a teeth brush I guess and some aquarium cleaning stuff
Can I use this for snakes or bearded dragons please
Yes
So resin, then paint? I plan to use your technique on creating a Vivarium background and was wondering if the paint should be sealed?
Depends on your kind of paint. If you use acrylic paint, it is just the grout you need to seal not the paint.
Hi! Nice video! Are those palight pvc sheets by Palram? I have been looking for this stuff for a while. Where do you get those?

@@Terrarium-Construction Thanks! Glad I found you videos!
@@Terrarium-Construction What thickness are you using? Is 3mm sufficient or would you recommend working with 5mm? Never held that stuff in my hands.
@@malteb4108 It depends on what you plan to do, I always use 3mm because it is the only one thickness I find in stores.
exselent
I don't understand a word you're saying
but the wall looks freaking awesome!!

@@Terrarium-Construction chill bro! Take it easy!
I might be able to understand your French more than your English, and i don't speak French..
So activate subtitles, I work hard on it for this kind of situation ;)

I do not need because when i melt the cement, I add something to make the cement more waterproof and easy to put.
