very cool, i bet that mortar makes the build very heavy though. I'm thinking of doing something similar to this on my viv but maybe swaping the mortar out for plaster mixed with sand or something.

@@LeoSeysRawr it’s not there. I’m trying to do this as well and I have everything I need but I can’t find the pond sealer he has. Everything else is either insanely over priced or it’s plastic liner. He should’ve put a list of the things
@@jamesmurray7799 this guy lives in Australia and he names them off in the video. There’s a lot of things in aus you can’t get anywhere else just gotta find the equivalent for your area

Looks great. Working on a full terrarium right now. 3 sides and a floor covered in foam and now doing mortar. Getting heavy at this point since I am almost empty of the 60lbs bag. I am trying to find an alternative to that crommelin pond sealer in USA.

Hey Coop, this helps a lot and just subbed, quick question, what colour acrylics did u use and did u mix them with anything or add water, cheers.
Did you coat it with anything after painting to make it easier to wipe over?
The design is great, but i was wondering if the chimicals used can hurt the lizzard
You want to look up VOC content of anything you use inside. Look for low VOC and water based stuff. Everything else gives off gas and should be cured for very long time.

Awesome background, which ratio do you use for your mortar mixture ?
I no longer use this method I prefer using a sand and cement mix. check out my gillens monitor setup video to see how i make backgrounds now!

I didnt for this one but you could put clear pond sealer on it

Thanks. How do you make larger platforms in the wall, so a adult bearded dragon can walk on it and can walk on different hights.
I know this was a year ago, but you could use foam board and rough cut the shapes you want, and the flat sides can be applied to the plywood first then use the foam around it to shape those platforms into the background
Would the plyboard stick the Same for a glass tank? I've got loctite

Hey Coop what's the reason for changing from using the liquid sandstone to the pond sealer?
No reason! Just wanted to try a different technique! Both work great along with many other ways I havent shown

Hey cooper, is the smell that the pond sealer gives off harmful to the lizards at all? Followed your tutorial and made a background myself, but found since ive put it in the enclosure and its had heat to it, it is giving off a bit of a smell which im pretty sure is from the pond sealer.
takes some time for the fumes to go.

I dont use sealant on dry enclosures. If i was in the US i would use drylok on all my enclosures
