The soundtrack is legendary. The demo itself is not bad either.
i hope someday Jugi will share his code on GitHub for this
The soundtrack is simply great in this one!
I remember I went from watching and rewatching 1992 demos straight to this one. It was jaw dropping.
2:45 I start shivering listening to this music. At 4:18 I'm losing my shit when the lead kicks in.
I literally remember this demo by its music.
Peak 90s, I haven't seen this since I was a kid. I'm very glad it has been preserved, and what a soundtrack!
After all these years, just have to leave my sincere compliments. Dope - Complex, a very important piece of demoscene history. Much love and respect!
The cat though 🥳
Genialne, wręcz ponadczasowe...
code masterpiece
this is true assembly prod, i love it!
Loved it at the Nexus 7 Party on a Beamer Screen back in the DayZ.
❤❤
shit! at begin phong shading, one square root for pixel, very hard for computer of the epoch, consideraly that this demo run on a 386. This demo was developed 100% with assembly
To run this demo at this speed it needed a 486 @40Mhz or better.
It's just plain old texture mapping, check "env mapping". None of the effects in this demo really are what the label says. :) I guess it was supposed to be a joke, but people bought it 100% and didn't get the joke. Which makes the joke all the more legendary.
@@yzimsx The cat scene isn't just "old texture mapping". Look at the shadow.
The "shadow" is env map reflection
the music is so good, the PicoGUS just stopped working. 🤣
Music made by Jugi
did Jugi or any of these great musicians like Groo ever have any kind of musical career? i love the music so much. with all the game music/chiptune revival, it would be great to see a vinyl record of the best of the demoscene music.
ua-cam.com/channels/nB6PiKg9khg3hIkeop2-DQ.html - he does demos still.
Yeah he would have deserved it. This style is basically what Eric Prydz does today (under his Pryda alias). I wonder if he used to watch demos !
yeah... for example, the creators of second reality, future crew, are same creators of max payne 1 and 2 🙂
@@funcibus And Alan Wake
Calvin Harris dropped a whole album written in Octamed on the Amiga. 3 of the songs on there went on to become anthems here in the UK.
It's not your typical vosk pop (demo scene style) but it does borrow a lot of elements from the scene. It has a lot of chip tune instruments.
Eric Pryds is actually making demo style and he's building a huge following of non sceners. I reckon we are only a few more years away from the sound going mainstream.
Obviously, this "new" genre will have to be named, Greets would be a good name for it because it's a shout out to the whole scene. It would also spare us the monotony of having yet another music genre interjected with the words wave, core or style.
Are these graphics all done in software renderer or is there 3D acceleration present? Either way - crazy stuff for 1995!
Pure software rendering in 13h mode I believe, i.e. 256 colors and none of this 16M color bs :D
This song almost never got to the point, so i remixed it in 1995 to make this song even better. :D
I would love to hear it! :D

Even in 2022 this doesn't get old.
