I watched the whole thing, great guys. I'm an English teacher, and in order to keep my job I have to certify my English, and although I'm going to take the C1 test, I'm preparing myself as if I were going to take the C2. My policy is that you have to be prepared for the worst (C2) in order to excell at the not so hard things (C1). The CAE has three grades, those being A, B, and C, and my target is to be rated as grade A, since that would put me at the threshold of the C2 level. Your videos, Ben, have been very helpfull. Gracias te doy desde Colombia.
Great pieces of advice. Michael, a fortnight preparation time, really?! That's mind-boggling. I've been studying for months and I don't feel confident enough yet. Great job! Maria, are you sure you're Spanish, where is your accent?! Your English sounds like music to my ears - very clear and natural, you communicate just like a highly articulate native speaker. Really helpful tips, Silvia. I wholeheartedly agree with taking our mistakes as opportunities to learn and improve. And Jeroen, you clearly have an impressive grasp of the language, your acurracy and range of vocabulary are outstanding, I wish I could express myself with that ease even in my mother tongue. Well done you all! Thank you so much for your time and for sharing your knowledge and experiences. And of course, thanks to Benn, your videos are riveting and extremely helpful, congrats! 🕺
I loved how he gave the tip of listening to everything at 1.5 speed while I was quite literally watching the interview at that exact speed. Anyway, I really enjoyed the vid it looked like a mere 10 minutes vid and it was certainly useful to hear about their experiences and tips as students. Thank you for uploading!!🕺🕺🕺
Great video and great, great teacher, Ben. I am impressed, not only by your work of such quality, but also because you read all the comments and encourage all your followers to move forward. It's very kind of you to dedicate some of your time to each of us. Thank you for this and for your priceless dedication.🤗
Thank you sooo much for this video! It was extremely beneficial for me to watch it (till the end :-) ) as I passed the C1 exam in June (just 3 points shy of C2) and I'm currently preparing for the C2 exam. Can't wait to see other of your videos! And hats off to Maria and others for passing the exam!
I know you suggested watching this video at different times of the day, but I watched it while resting on my couch… it was fun! How great and motivational these young people are!
I am not planning to do an English exam, because I consider that I need to practice more the speaking part but this video was so interesting, I watched it until the end.😊
God! You have all been so useful! I've taken plenty of tips from your insights about the test. I'm glad I've found you Ben. I hope some day I can thank you for me passing the C1 test. 😊😊😊
Yes, I've passed the C2 Trinity exam in speaking but I don't have the level at all. I'd reckon I'm around a full C1/C2 beginner but not more than that level. Certifications matter, but apart from that they're also just a label. If I've passed that exam, I suppose most of people even at a complete B2/C1 beginner can manage to sit for it successfully. If I can convey self-esteem to any people with this message, well I'm truly happy of it. Everyone at any level from full B2 onwards can achieve that certification, the exam I sat for was a walk in the park compared to what a C2 test should be. I sustained a Trinity exam, other exams such as the likes of ISEE are way more difficult imo. The exam consisted on three different topics, one of which was the topic presentation, and the other two chosen and set by the examiner. So the remaining two were respectively one the progressing of the topic presentation, once I reported it to examiner he asked me questions about my topic presentation, and the listening task, where I was asked to complete 3 passages with a suitable ends consisting on either a word or a phrase. It was pretty easy and not C2 caliber imo, so I somehow passed it without having neither the preparation nor the level of a C2. I hope to encourage many people who are maybe unwilling to take exams. So if I've somoewhat passed that exam anyone can.
Thank you not only for this but for all your videos. I definitely have learned something new since I started watching them. Kind regards from Germany 🕺🏻
Jeroen is the best among these students IMO. He's brillant, great fluency, amazing vocabulary, perfect understanding of the language, excellent use of the grammar. Anyway, all of them are great english speakers.

That's true, Maria's accent is very British. But, remember, it's ok to have a local accent... as long as your pronunciation is clear and understandable, you won't lose points. 🙂

You've definitely picked up a very British accent there :) A mix of Brummy and London ...I'm from Birmingham originally. ;)
😎 I have to admit that I feel secured when I study vocab, collocations, and idioms. I know that they are useful anyway even if I fail the exam itself. They are such a crucial foundation of the English language that they help improve all four papers simultaneously. The potential reward is simply too high to ignore. As well as that, I feel I am getting a step closer to completing the Oxford/Cambridge Adv. Learner's Dictionary, which I personally treat it as the limit on my learning. However, this strategy does assume that one is reasonably comfortable with grammar, listening and speaking; otherwise, one cannot say one knows the language well enough just because of their large vocabulary.
🕺 I like your video full of useful tips, especially books used for the preparation, recommended order of the exam parts, getting to know your speaking partner.
