I've added this game to my Steam wish list Rev, purely on the basis of your recent videos of the game. Great advertising your motorsport sims are your videos.
Very well raced Rev. In defense of the corvette, the pit exit merges onto the racing line on the right hand side and in endurance racing there is no requirement for lapped traffic to move off the racing line to let lapping traffic past.
Great race, Rev… very well done in coping with the pressure 😅. I agree that LMU is too much fun. I (and my older PC) can’t wait for it to be optimised and expanded.
@ similar yes, but still very different level. LMU does less but much better and of cause looks better. FFB more refined and car handling and hybrid simulation is supreme in LMU. On top of that multiplayer works great for me, fair racing thanks to ranking system. I love LMU and hope it survives ❤️
@vrj0 Thanks for your opinion mate, I hope it does too. I've spent a short period of time with it really but enjoyed it very much and the issue I had with my username RaceControl sorted out in a few hours so that was great service too!
Nice to see you've discovered LMU. I'm absolutely in love with it myself and am sorry to say that all the other games that I usually enjoy have become a bit less enjoyable. So a warning for everyone interested in LMU :-) Regarding odd behaviours on track. I think it mainly comes down to general understanding of the sport and maturity above all else. I'm sure most mishaps are not I'll intended (though we all see some of that too). A big problem with that is that there is only SR and DR for matchmaking. My youngest kid is not very high ranked in those numbers yet. But I can foresee that he will find good pace soon, but that does not make him generally well behaved amongst traffic. Also not ill intended. And for the youngest ones there is also the problem of not yet understanding English very well. I do try to teach and generally be of help with my kids sim gaming, but there are times that I am not around. LMU doesn't perhaps have a large enough player base yet but I think a age class divider would be good to have. Or differentiating lobbies by expected play style. Something like a "Similar to real life hobby driving" and "Video game playing"". Some games (not mentioning its name, but it sounds like a apple owned one) seem to handle the problem by generally promoting a "professional" feel and thmosphere. I think that leads to people taking themselves and their hobby way too seriously, and it actually does more harm than good for all participants. Reading simracing stewards sub reddit really makes me question if this really is a good hobby for ones mental health. Soo competitive and generally heartless is some camps. Sorry for the long text. Not even sure what I wanted to say :-) Thanks again for all the content!
@jonux1337 No problem at all mate I enjoyed reading it and getting plenty of perspectives. You are right in that this is a hobby that depending on who you are could be bad for your mental health. Luckily I'm purely here for the fun, I like to be relatively quick of course but of it's a good race for 21st then it was still a good race 😀👍
@jonux1337 I like your explanation of the feeling on how the FFB is delivered in the game. Do you have any comparison to the old Simbin GTR2 game? Cause still to this date I feel it have the "best" FFB of yet.
@Soulfood68 I wish I had but alas I have never played GTR2! You could try the game via steam and refund if it didn't feel right to you maybe ☺️ Thank you for the comment 😀
Decent podium Rev and decent lap times mate. Haven’t given the Aston a good go tbh. LMU my favourite sim long may it continue with content. Good race mate. GG
Hi Rev, nice race. This is definitely the best game for tyre grip feel round corners. My only personal gripe with it is that the graphics seem over saturated to me, causing the opponents cars look a little blurred when compared to AMS 2. Keep up the good work!
i've hardly touched other sims since I tried LMU..... the netcode alone is enough to make it worthwhile for me... so sick of getting the gentlest of taps in other sims, and being wiped out in a way that wouldn't happen IRL.... its just really good fun to drive LMU!
The difference with LMU and other sims is that LMU will tell you how to react based on the FFB/roadfeel. Other sims rely on visual clues and made up protocols on how to react when a car does a certain something, but in LMU youre actually responding intuitively to the infortmation provided through the steeringwheel. This is what makes the driving so engaging. Rf2 was like this but never made it out of its tech demo state unfortunately. LMU Might just be able to pull it off if they can offer more content before people get bored. Definitly my favorite driving sim on the market with a ton of potential.
I really hope this game succeeds, as it has the quality. I am not going to lie, the publisher may make it hard work but the development team have done a fantastic job!
I've been sat on the fence in regards to LMU... Rumours of the studio being in trouble and them charging for DLC on an early access have put me off, but I think you've helped in the decision for me to pull the trigger?
These "rumours" are from single player guys. You can't compare LMU to other racing sims, you can only compare it to IRacing, since the devs provide a full service: multiple scheduled races each hour, with up to 30 splits per race and matchmaking based on pace and safety rating - for free, without subscription! I find this incredibly cheap compared to IRacing. Forget the Early Access tag, it has less issues then most full release sims.
Very good! The AI in LMU is the best I have seen. They can be a little too agressive in the first half lap so you have to be careful but after that, they race very well.
I agree with @schigara. Start is sus but after that the racing is top notch. I use it as a training tool for starts. Not kidding. Surviving LMU AI starts really helps when among real people.
I wouldn't buy the game purely for the Aston Martin (even though it is great). I'm not sure if they are planning to add the GT3 variant. The game has lots of good cars, hopefully my next LMU video might help as I try to pick the best GTP car for the beginner ☺
the GT3 Aston will also come, once Season Pass 1 is over, probably in Q2; that said, i really enjoy the GTE as well. The GTE class has not been dropped in the ranked online schedule, it is part of the rotation
