So Rev, this looooooooong video did my head in! I won't be watching it! it's too long! If that's the case, do let me know below 😀😀 Thanks guys! 👍👍 IF you do like it, please hit that like button for this video if no other, thank you ☺ Rev.
Do what I did, just FFW through most of it by moving the progress bar with your mouse. Watched the whole thing in under 5 min while catching a lot of what you said and seeing the gorgeous day/night/day transitions. It does look fantastic, I concur.
@ Look at it this way, if I had 45 min to spare watching someone play instead of using that time to better refine my skills in the sim rig, I'd be doing myself a great disservice. So yeah, 5 min is about all I can devote to a video. Thank goodness for the ability to ffw or play it at double the speed.
It is not too long, it is a just a matter if you have the will and the time to do it. GPLaps, Ted Meat, and others do even longer videos. I usually watch most of them, you always can find something useful/funny, i.e., how to better take a curve or similar
Thanks mate I appreciate that as I did wonder if it was a waste of time as it is time consuming recording the replay and what have you after the race! Thanks 😊👍
I agree. The cuts from cockpit to track side are a big 'plus' to the video as it just adds a notable increase in 'quality' of the production. In a way - not so bland. lol.
Awesome video start, you got me there 😁, I have not seen that intro in ages! Now, it would be really cool to do a video about "real" Daytona with a Nascar mod, how it was meant to be. Just kidding, great race as usual Rev 😀
Brilliant video. AMS2 is my go to racing sim now. I’ve even stopped playing DCS World which was the reason to have PC. Can’t wait do this at the weekend.
Great content sir! AMS2 looking amazing as usual & your driving is top notch, I'm with you about T1 at Daytona, it's one I can never seem to get right :)
@@babble1975 First! Well I think I won't have access to them all straight away so I might be forced into whatever Kunos want! My choice would be the Hyundai i30n or Porsche Cup @ Brands Hatch 😀😀 what's yours???
@ReverendSimRacing That's a good point, I hadn't considered that. Be interesting to see how this new direction they are going in works out. I guess I'll take what I'm given then :)
I decided to run the exact 'same' race.... except I did 30x Time Progression so that a full 24hr day would pass in 45mins. It took about 6 race restarts to SURVIVE the 'crazy aggressive AI', which when I qualled as P1 they would ram me into turn 1. There was no way I could avoid it as we get cold tires/brakes but the AI seemingly do not!! And the 1 or 2 times I survived turn 1 they then got me in turn 4(?? the slow tight right hander). The race that I got going, to complete then, was when I fluked surviving some bumps from the AI, but was shuffled back to 6th by one after the other, within the first half a lap - seeing I could not race as fast as them. Then from that first half lap approx I just survived holding off 7th and 8th who were right on my pace until my tires were working well. Then during the race, I had to stay well clear of any GT3/LMP passes in turns as they would close the door on me - even as I sailed past cleanly - and hit me. I took three spins during the race thanks to that, probably up until lap 6 or so where I decided to NEVER go near AI in turns! Well, I learned their behaviours so then I knew way better on which side to pass them, or how much space/clearance I would need to guarantee they would not then hit me etc. I would say that from lap 6 onwards it was ALMOST fantastic racing (the feeling, fun etc) because I had worked out the 'special way' you need to race with the AI. In a way it is like real racing, but with every other car (almost) being an aggressive, ignorant sportsmanship, type driver! Whereas maybe 10% are that in real racing, lol. (or at least in the real racing I had done). I ended up 4th as almost every lap was notably compromised by that need for super care around AI. And I didn't get the "bonus" second pitting of the other LMDh cars, so it was all one pit only for us all. Though my pitstop total time was about 8 seconds faster than theirs. That helped make up for some AI caused spins I had. I noted the your (RSim) brakes were glowing red hot for ages after even exiting turns - more so the fronts. That looked excessively long. I ran 80% front brake ducts and 45% rears, and that gave 'normal' looking red hot glow time frames. lol. But I also ran 53% front brake bias - which seemed to produce a highly stable, and low chance of front locking, result. It made the racing (braking) a lot simpler to do well and consistently. I ran ERS on automatic as that does the job perfectly well, and probably no AMS2 racers use the fuel saving aspects of the whole ERS systems aims at all anyway(!). Seeing most are sprint races (short), or somewhat longer races that have no great issue in fuel use/saving anyway. So in a way, what you run ERS as (in AMS2) is pretty much totally irrelevant - but it COULD be used properly to benefit at least some very small amount! I haven't tested it but MAYBE..... if you run Qual ERS in Qualifying, that means you could carry less fuel and thus be lighter = that bit faster lap time. ERS use means you burn less fuel (using electric motor power to bridge that ICE power drop instead) thus either go further in a race on a full tank, or can carry less fuel in qualifying so that the car is lighter (faster then). But it is probably only a help in 1/100ths of a second, maybe a tenth a best(???). But maybe that would gain you a grid position or two! (versus the reasonable variation in lap times you can have happen anyway!)
@@MegaToxic99 Hello mate, 45 mins time, x25 Progression, Full rules, AI on 104, High Aggression, standard mistakes, mandatory pit stop, race start time 1600hrs 👍👍
ERS doesn't give any extra power. Output power is always the same maximums, with it or not. It just adds electrical (motror) energy and removes ICE power to match - to give that always equal maximum. All the ERS does is then mean less FUEL is used. In V1.6 AMS2 replicates the ERS 'correctly', to a good degree, yet it is still amiss in a number of ways. But the maximum power aspect is done correctly (and thus saves fuel). So no other LMDh's in the race are getting away from you due to the ERS mode..... (eg whether using Attack or Qual etc)
In AMs2 you have to enable the function in the System menu (ingame) and there is a function where you have to select Project cars 2 (they forget to rename). After that, you exit the game, start Crechief and start the game.
You have to set up some settings in ams2 to make crewchief work sometimes. If you havent tried this already, Go to Options in ams2 and look for systems, set shared memory and protocol version on pc2 while frequency being turned off. Hope this will help.

This is what AMS2 does best. The day/night transitions are just so good.
Couldn't agree more! I did notice that Daytona though was quite heavy on my hardware at night! Never noticed that before!
