Thanks for this info. I took mine apart to replace the #74 bulb and when I put it back together I got those spots of resistance and for me it was okay on cold, but no heat.
When I took mine apart, the gear fell out. When you put it back together, once the notches are aligned, should the dial be turned all the way to cold or hot or in the middle, or what? Thanks!
