I have just replaced my Marantz 5012 with the new Marantz Cinema 50. The set-up process went very well! Congrats to the person(s) that really went “all-out” to make the set-up assistant as logical and as easy as possible to understand for someone like me who is not technically inclined. My only comment is that the focus of the instruction is on setting up a “tv” but no mention of “projector”. Reviewer “Ripwave Audio” did a great job of explaining how to setup his Cinema 50 and spent some time to explain what choice to make when you have to choose “coaxial” in the set-up process. I too came to a screeching halt when that choice had to be made. Fortunately, I remembered his thoughtful comment and made the right choice for my Control4 network connection. I also have an odd HVAC intrusion into my dedicated / professionally installed 7.1 media room. As such I turned on atmos speaker virtualization found in the Marantz AVR app. I can honestly say it sounded like “magic” to my ears. The way it opens up the soundstage is just awesome! Itsclear to me the Marantz engineering team really put your shoulders to the wheel on this Marantz receiver revision. Assuming the electronic choices you made hold-up overtime like my 2018 Marantz 5012 did - take a bow! WOW!
Great AVRs. But it´s beyond me, why HEOS doesn´t support multichannel audio. What´s the reason for this? Btw., when exactly is actually the anniversary next year? This would be the time for the Cinema 30, right?
What is the difference between Cinema50 full Preamp mode v/s dedicated prepro like AV7706 ? Currently with improvements in Cinema50 on preout-only mode & with new added features, is this AVR superior product compared to 7706 ? OR is there some specific advantages of 7706 ? Thank you
@SoundUnitedTraining 34:43 MPEG-H 360 Reality Audio over ChromeCast does NOT work. I own a Cinema 50, Chromecast Ultra and Tidal subscription with 360 Reality Audio. Please look into it!
There is a bug with Spotify connect, if the TV screen isn't on it will cut out every minute for a second. Setup is a Cinema 60 with a Samsung Q90R. Keeping the screen on stops it from happening but if you just want to listen to music and save some power this needs a fix.
Product presentation vs actual is different. Like they shows 2 HDMI out in 70s, but actually it is only one and 70s is not 50 watt all channels as speaker said in the video.
DAC question was not directly answered. We know, that there's more to the sound than just the DAC. But, in the past. AKM was proudly presented. If even machine like Cinema 50 has TI and not Sabre or AKM, then your vague explanation feels like some kind of cover up.
Hi I live in Canada and the AV 10 will be selling for $9000 Canadian plus %13 tax...I sure hope it has something better than what is in their processors now for that kind of money ...getting close to Mac Intosh MRX 123 processor which for me would be in the price range of $ 12 thousand Canadian tax in ..I hope ! lol I havent watched this video yet ...my eye caught your comment as i was wondering what DAC was going in the AV10 and it looks to me The Texas Instrument is in the Cinema 50 which is a 32 bit... just saying that because that I believe was in the prior models ..like the 6015 etc 7015 8015 not sure on the current processors but it might be the T.I also
Jim, I think that separates will have Sabre DAC. But Cinema 50 having TI is a dissapointment. Look how mediocre Denon x3800h measures at sciencereview site ...

I have a OPPO 205 with dual ESS ES 9038Pro Sabre DAC this explains why my Marantz 6011 with separate 11 channel power supply sounds so good ...so I wont be upgrading to the Cinema 40 or 50 and when the AV 10 comes out I cant seem to justify in my head for me to spend $9000 plus %13 tax in Canadian funds to do an jump up to the AV 10 even if it does have a Sabre DAC ..the OPPO 205 for sound quality is impressing the hell out of me ...after hearing some friends 4k players and they have spent way more money on their receivers than I have (eg Anthem MRX 1140 with Dirac room correction ) So when the AV 10 comes out there better be some dam good reviews on it for that kind of money ...Its getting up there with the McIntosh MX 123 processor $10800 US and way more for me in Canadian funds plus that %13 tax ! lol Have a Good Day!
@@MrPreet23 Actually the ES9018K2M was first released in 2013 so it will be 10 years old next year, disappointing that they didn't use the much newer but now superceded ES9038PRO that the OPPO UDP-205 utilized, sure wouldn't have made a world of difference but I would have felt better with that exorbitant price tag if Sound United had chosen one of ESS' more recent "flagship" DACs ;)
@@oniiz8685 I called Marantz customer service and they have no idea about DAC. They increased price of the unit just fir improved chassis and God knows what upgrades are done internally
@@ThousandThrills I ended up getting the Denon X3800H and wasn't happy with the way music sounded. The highs were harsh and the over al sound was a bit to neutral or cold. I returned it and picked up the Marantz Cinema 50. Much better sound, it just does everything right with out compromise.

The only concern I have is "porthole" display. It could have been bigger in size or even better as rectangular shape with rounded corners. Cinema 40 has additional display behind the lid; why? asking seriously. My ten years old Yamaha AVR is outdated and I am really willing to an upgrade also by extending from 5.1 to 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos setup and the Cinema 50 is seemed to me the best alternative today available in the market, but the "porthole"... I know, it is characteristics of Marantz, but still a big downside imho. Simply I don't like it. It is keeping me away.
I have my AVR in a rack, and display is hidden from me, so I do not have any benefit of larger display. In my case, I much more prefer to use phone APP to navigate through AVR. Also, if using remote then you have all information on screen displayed with great UI. Probably depends about taste, but for me, porthole is one of things that attracted me more to this product.
The price of Dirac is a piss take ppl plus shelling out another £100 for a mic.. I really appreciate the features in this product and I would buy one but the TI DAC is a no no.
Dirac sound will make system sound better . Audyseyy is crap anyway… With premium price we need to understand if each channel gets individual DAC for superior sound or its like av8805 8 channel DAC . Other thing is asking to pay for Dirac live for a full suite which is another $500
Audyessy multeq-x is not crap. With a calibration mic it costs $280 and can easy match the performance of Dirac when calibrated by a professional. BTW dirac which costs $800 plus $100 for mic is nowhere near 3 times better than audyessy. Marantz are not asking anyone to pay for Dirac. Dirac is the one asking for the money Marantz dont take money they are just providing the capability. Just like when you buy a laptop. Some software is included and free others made by 3rd party you got to buy separately.
Marantz is trying to brand itself as incorporating high-end audio component elements, outpacing its competitors. And, it is also attempting to pass off their audio sections (DAC, Phono, etc.) as high-end. Umm, they are definitely not. The DAC is low-end to be sure. Phono - nothin' to shout about, either.
Yes agreed am not seeing anything that sets Marantz as being superior to Denon. Whats weird is that in Asia Denon is considered as a high end brand. Ranked higher than Marantz. Obviously the marketing is aimed at the USA market.
This delay is from Dirac not Marantz. Marantz have already provided the technology. Dirac sells their software direct to us the end user. It is Dirac that is making us wait not marantz.

Is a difference in the sound quality between the Cinema 50 and 60 if you only going to run a 5.1 system in a medium sized room.
Much better dynamics for music with the bigger power supply in the 50 if you Google that question...and dirac won't be in the 60 I believe?
