Yo... this tutorial is awesome, and pretty comprehensive! I just ran my first large scale model thanks to you! 10 miles of the Gunnison River now modeled! THANK YOU!!!
Great Tutorial! This is a divided highway, it would be nice if you can show how to model two parallel bridge openings, there is only a short paragraph in RAS manual for that.
A little more detail was required for the ineffective area. Viewers, Please understand what the left and right station means. When you add the left station for ineffective area, it starts all the way to that point, which in this example is the abutments.
www.autodesk.com/autodesk-university/class/Heavily-Inundated-Using-Civil-3D-Data-Floodplain-Analysis-HEC-RAS-2019 I have a link where I demonstrated how to model a road and culvert with HEC-RAS 2D... hope that it helps!
Hi Andy, this tutorial was awesome. I am wondering how we can shift a bridge or a cross section in the model assuming that they are already built and we need to shift them upstream or downstream?
How would the bank stations change along the channel after you place a bridge in the model? would they increase at the boundary cross sections? Also would the ineffective flow areas start just outside of the bridge opening to allow for better expansion and contraction?
Hello Andy, I was following your steps but when it was time to import the tif file I get an error. The error says the following: "Importing 1 of 1: Navidad_EG_3ft_20201009_EPSG2278.tif -> EG-LIDAR_3ft.Navidad_EG_3ft_20201009_EPSG2278.tif Step 1 of 4: Translating to GeoTiff with SRS... Error creating Terrain: The directory name is invalid Cleaning up files..." Would you happen to know why I get that error? I am using parallels on a mac maybe that could be a reason.
Alexis... did you get this worked out? Note that the import file name has two (2) dots (.) This maybe confusing the machine on the import. I have not tested the workflow on MAC emulation. Perhaps rename the DEM to something simple and retry the import.
Hey Jalaj... I am not really doing much 1D Unsteady modeling anymore. Rather, I am doing 2D modeling in HEC-RAS when time-varied flow is required. Would you like to see a 2D tutorial instead?
Excellent Tutorial, I just started using HEC-RAS for one of my projects at work. This tutorial will really come in handy.

Such a great video🙌

Excellent video
One of the best tutorials. Can you do a similar tutorial for the new HEC-RAS 6.0 in 2D models? Thank you
would be keen to see a video on 2d unsteady bridge design / installation using HEC RAS

@@127civileng Thank you I will try that.
thank you Sir.can you please make tutorial video on 1D unsteady flow model

Nice. Would you do the same thing with RAS geometry instead of RAS mapper?
How do you get a projection file for a site?
Please provide data to practice
